Hi Hive!
I am so ELATED to be the newest bee! I’ve been a huge Weddingbee fan since I discovered it last year. I was so excited to find a place where other detail-oriented brides share ideas and help each other navigate through the wedding planning process! The wedding industry doesn’t exactly encourage brides to save money and “DIY”, so the amount of information sharing, cooperation, and support on Weddingbee blew me away! I’ve been hooked ever since, so it is pretty surreal to see myself on the site!

If you’ve seen my bio you may have noticed that I’ve been engaged for over two years!
Mr. Kitten and I go to school in different cities. When we got engaged we wanted to marry, move in together halfway between our respective cities, and commute to school. After receiving a total butt-kicking during my first year of law school, we decided to push the wedding back a year so that we could finish school before moving in together. I’m really glad we did; I would have been one grouchy newlywed if I had to sit in traffic for two-and-a-half hours every day!
You would think that after being engaged for over two years, I would have everything in place for the wedding. But I actually didn’t start planning until a few months ago! School has kept me really busy during our engagement, so with two months to go I still have A LOT of planning to do! Join me as I try to make my destination wedding as memorable, personal, and budget-friendly as possible!

I know what you mean about planning a wedding while your in school - I work full-time and go to school part-time so I tried to cram as much wedding planning in to my Christmas break as possible, and it wasn’t easy b/c Christmas activities kinda got in the way.
Welcome! I think it’s great that you haven’t been planning this whole time. You would’ve been one burned-out bride by the time the wedding came around! I love the Caymans and can’t wait to hear about the destination details!

Welcome! I’m trying to balance working full-time with teaching part-time (it’s a seven week course, but I’m still feeling overwhelmed!). No idea when wedding planning will fit in for me, so I’ll be interested to hear how you make it work!

I have a 23 month engagement planning from DC for a CA wedding… i love long engagements, i’ve really been able to enjoy it! Can’t wait to hear more about your wedding planning!

You’re one bad cat….you’re in law school AND planning a wedding? My sister is in her 2nd year at TSU/Thurgood Marshall…poor thing is a shell of her former self. I can’t imagine you doing both at the same time. Major props to you!
Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! The profile pic is from this past Halloween, I thought it was fitting! And I’m glad everyone agrees with me about Toby’s cuteness! If I could smuggle him into the Cayman Islands he would totally be our ring bearer! Cat lady alert!
Welcome Miss Kitten! I too just recently graduated lawschool and passed the bar, (on the first try). yay. I know it’s hard but just keep pushing forward. You can do it! and I promise, it’s totally worth you. I’ve never felt as accomplished as the day I graduated and passed the bar. it’s an amazing feeling. good luck and I can’t wait to read your posts!
