It’s that time of year again… get out your glue guns and glitter for another year of Valentine’s crafting! This year, to make sure that everyone gets a valentine, we are using Swap-Bot to help coordinate the swap. For all you crazy crafters and swappers out there, Swap-Bot is a great way to collect handmade goodies and share them with other aficionados. It’s easy! Just sign up for an account and join the Weddingbee group. After you are accepted into the group, sign up for the group swap. After the swap deadline, you will receive an email containing the addresses of your swap partners.
How it works:
- Start by creating an account at Swap-Bot. Please note that your address will only be shared by your swap partners (otherwise, where will they mail your valentine?!). Once you’ve signed up, request to join the Weddingbee group. Once you receive a group acceptance, you can sign up for the Weddingbee Valentine Swap! The swap is a private one and not open to the Swap-Bot public. Only those in the Weddingbee group can participate in the swap.
- On January 30, you will receive an email containing the addresses of the 3 other swap participants you’ll be sending your valentines to. Once you are signed up and the sign-up date has passed, you will not be able to drop out, so please sign up only if you are sure you can participate. We want everyone to receive a Valentine!
- Create handmade valentines (or if you’re not so crafty, I find that adding loads of candy to pseudo handmade valentines always sweetens the deal!).
- Take photos of your fabulous handmade valentines and email them to canary (at) weddingbee.com. They will be included in a post on Weddingbee about the swap in February.
- Package your valentines and send one to each person on your participant list by February 9. If you are going to be late, please contact your swap participants. We want to make sure everyone who signed up to participate gets their valentines.
- Celebrate Valentine’s Day with a collection of sweet handmade cards from your Weddingbee pals!
*A note on international shipping: We do not have the ability to specify how many international addresses you will get so please plan for that. We also do not have the ability to create U.S. domestic-only swap groups.
And for inspiration, here is the post for last year’s swap. I can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with this year!
