Unfortunately, when you order a new dress, it takes a while to arrive. I was told that I would receive a phone call at the beginning of January to pick up my dress. Well, the beginning of January came and passed, and I hadn’t receive a call. Worried, I phoned David’s Bridal last week, to hear “your dress has been here for weeks, and Debra’s is here too”. A few things are wrong with this scenario: First, my sister’s name is Deidre, not Debra. Second, why didn’t she or I receive calls when our dresses arrived. I fought the urge to go Bridezilla, and thanked the lady. After all, our dresses had arrived safely and were ready to come home with us.
Sunday the Spring Roll girls (mom, sister, and FMIL) and I made the trip to pick up our dresses. Arrived safely? Check. Ready to come home with us? Not mine. You see, when I tried on my dress, the associate informed us that my dress had a bustle and that we would be shown how to bustle the dress upon pick up. Au contraire, my dress did not have a bustle; however, it could have a bustle, after alterations, and sixty dollars.
There is no way that I could wear my dress without a bustle all night, so I gave in. Although I am not so happy with the store’s service, I am definitely happy with my dress, and the future bustle.
Do you plan to bustle your dress?
