About Mrs. Deviled Egg

I truly hope all of you Western Pennsylvania and Eastern Ohio girls have visited a Pat Catan’s store at some point in your life. If you haven’t, what are you waiting for? The store boasts an impressive selection of affordable craft supplies and seasonal decorations. I big puffy heart Pat Catan’s because they always seem to have what I need, and their prices are the best.

And, starting this Saturday, January 31, they are kicking off their annual Bridal Fair at all store locations! It’s not your typical bridal fair with vendors and fashion shows. This one is all about crafting different elements of your wedding.

For the Crafty Brides-to-Be In Western PA and Eastern OH : wedding crafts pittsburgh De1 de1

My mother and I went to their fair last year and, while it’s not a huge event, we walked away with some great ideas and a few freebies.

The staff at Pat Catan’s puts together samples of bouquets, favors, centerpieces and other wedding decor for display and they are available to assist you with what you need. They also show you how you can make items yourself. The best part about their bridal fair is that all of the projects are actually doable! You don’t have to spend hours researching products or guessing what was used to make each project. Everything you need is available for purchase at the store.

The event runs through February 7th, but the day to go is this Saturday, which is Demo Day. (I’m planning on stopping by the Aliquippa store.) You’ll get hands-on instructions for select projects and will see some of the latest crafting trends put to use to complete wedding-related projects.

The real kicker is that brides will receive a coupon good for 10% off all of their wedding supplies! If you are doing any DIY for your wedding, it is well worth it for you to check out this event.

Happy crafting! And let everyone know if you plan on heading to one—perhaps you can meet up!

Hmm… I’m in Pittsburgh proper (Squirrel Hill to be exact) and don’t know where there is a Pat Catan’s. I’ll have to seek one out!

(My college roommate used to call it “Capatan’s” :) )

PS- Go steelers!

I’ve actually never been to a Pat Catan’s, but I know there is one just down the road from my wedding reception in Sharon/Hermitage. I don’t live near the area, so I probably won’t be able to make it. Plus, I’m not very crafty. But if I lived closer, I’d definitely go! Thanks for the tip, Miss DE!

I <3 Pat Catan’s! Did you know they’re not only for crafts, in Strongsville, OH (outside of Cleveland) they have Catan Fashions–a wedding gown store?

@Mary: I found out about the wedding gown store at a bridal fair in August. If I didn’t already have my dress, I would have gone to check it out.

I love Pat Catan’s! I’ve gone to all three in the Pittsburgh area to buy blue votive holders. They also have inexpensive glue runners, and the least expensive white pillar candles that I’ve found anywhere.

Hey miss Deviled Egg! We are getting married in western PA, hour north of Pitts. We live in CA now, so I will miss this event - but I’m glad to see another western PA-er on here!

Thanks for the tip. I moved to Cleveland in the fall and haven’t actually checked out Pat Catan’s yet. This gives me a good excuse!

Pat Catan’s is AMAZING! They are the only craft store around that had the exact shade of pink ribbon that I need for all of my DIY projects for our wedding. I will definitely be making the trip for the bridal fair =)

i’ve always wondered how much people really pick up from these things. do they showcase a lot of stuff that gets around the blog/net world or do they actually have unique items or ideas to offer? do share your previous experience or report after the new one!

Booo! I’m too far south for Pat Catan’s! I wish I were a *little* closer! Plus the snow/ice storm here in Cincinnati is keeping everyone shut up in their houses :(
