Mrs. Kitten's Picture
Mrs. Kitten, Austin/Grand Cayman Age and Occupation: 25, Law Student Fiance's Age and Occupation: 27, Dental Student Engagement Date: October 19, 2006 Wedding Date: April, 2009 Venue: The Grand Old House, Grand Cayman About Me: In 2009 I will get married (after a two and a half year engagement!), become an Army wife, graduate from law school, take the bar, move from Austin to Washington, D.C., and start my career as a lawyer! With all this going on, Mr. Kitten and I decided to have a tropical, "stress-free" destination wedding. Nevertheless, my micromanaging, detail-oriented, perfectionist side has prevailed---I am currently obsessed with every last detail of my "stress-free" destination wedding! But most of all, I'm beyond excited to become Mrs. Kitten on a fabulous Caribbean vacation surrounded by my friends and family!

… And We Have a Winner!

Aqua and poppy!

Thanks to everyone who voted—it was a tough decision between pink/black and aqua/poppy, but I think we made the right choice. Now that we (finally!) have wedding colors, we can move on to picking out bridesmaid dresses and decorations! I also came across this gorgeous wedding on Snippet and Ink that used an aqua/poppy/gold/black color palette. I love these colors together. They complement each other really well and don’t look too “matchy”.

Oh wow, the red and gold look so regal together. And when I see aqua, I think two things: cheery, and Tiffany and Co.!

We’re doing aqua and orange for our colors. I just love aqua in general. Yours is going to be BE-A-U-TIFUL! It looks so inviting and I can’t look at it without smiling! :)

Great choice, it was the one I was hoping for ;-)
I also LOVE that wedding from Snippet & Ink, plus their venue was one of our contenders. (The main reason we didn’t chose The Prado is b/c I know someone who is already getting married their this year).

Awesome! This color combo is so fresh and bold, love it! I’m looking forward to see how you incorporate them, with the invites, dresses, flowers and shoes. Shoes are important :P

I used red and aqua in my wedding and loved it. The only part I really debated about were the bridesmaid dresses and how to do the aqua/red combo and not sacrifice the “will they wear it again” concept. I think we pulled it off, and it was fresh and modern :) Here is a link to at least a shot of the bridesmaids and flowers: http://reneebroughton.blogspot.com/2008/09/erin-and-scott-falkner-winery.html. Let me know if you need further inspiration!

I **love** the aqua and poppy! I would have gone with that, but the colors on the carpet in our reception venue would have totally clashed (helloooo, bridezilla). Instead we went with navy, green and yellow.
