Wedding Window - Take a Peek…

February 2nd, 2009 @ 11:31 am by Mrs. Piglet

Welcome to our wedding website! Having a Computer Science degree, I’ve always looked forward to this aspect of the wedding planning process. :) Once we decided that we would have a destination wedding in Hawaii, we wanted everyone to know as soon as possible. A lot of our friends were likely to use their airline miles and hotel points, and since airlines limit the number of seats available for point usage, we wanted to give them the heads up on the date, location, etc. My girlfriend highly recommended Wedding Window. There were so many goodies included in the $80/year price, that we didn’t mind paying. There were a ton of templates to choose from, and they were all customizable.

The Pigsters love snowboarding. Mr. Pig often claims he’s X Games material.

Some of my favorite features were:

  • Free trial: Wedding Window offers a 7 day trial period. It was awesome. You can create a website using all of their tools for a 7 day period with no obligation. Using the website was so easy, we were sold.
  • Large selection of templates: All of the photos and templates are customizable. When we were deciding on our wedding colors, we actually changed the website color scheme to give us a sense of whether we truly like the color combo. All of the photos below can be changed as frequently as you like. The four thumbnail photos on the right side are on all pages of the website.

  • Address Book: Guests can send you their mailing address via an online form on the website. We’re collecting everyone’s addresses through this link versus asking via email.
  • Blog with RSS feed: This gives your guests a reason to come back! I update the blog with travel specials I find, and occasionally share where we are in the wedding planning process. In general, I find that most people LOVE pictures. My friends and I are at that age where everyone is getting hitched. There’s a wedding every month so I try to post as many pictures of those weddings as I can.
  • Music: We added our wedding song to the website. Come wedding day when we dance to our song, we’re hoping they will be familiar with it from our lovely website. :)

All in all, it’s so much fun! It’s a great way to keep your guests engaged.

What is your favorite feature on your wedding website?

This is great!!! I have one through Wedorama.com and love it! You can put soooo much information and details in there, so you don’t have to worry about including it in the invitations! Plus, people loooove looking at the pics (we have a photo gallery that tells our story). And speaking of which, I LOVE that surf picture! Hilarious and cute!

I’m a Wedding Window bride too! The site is so easy to use. I love that I can track who’s been on my page with the “visitor log.”
We’ve gotten great responses from our guests.

Yours looks great!

We are using Mywedding.com and I like that you can make customized pages. It helps when adding informaiton you don’t find in a typical wedding website template.

The website looks awesome! The surfing photo is hilarious!
We’re also using mywedding.com.My favorite feature on our wedding site has to be the blog, and second favorite is the Wishpot powered registry. It lets you add any item from any website to your registry page. We found it very useful since IKEA doesn’t have a wedding registry service.

I am a graphic designer and my fiance is a software engineer so we are making our wedding website completely from scratch! We just started this weekend and it has been so much fun coming up with ideas. Weddingwindow looks cool, though, we probably would have gone with it if we thought our guests would have liked all the bells and whistles, but most of them are older and barely know how to use the internet!

Your wedding site looks great! My favorite feature is the background behind the couple - how they met, proposal story, etc. Btw, I love your surfing photo.

i too love that we can add music. we used wedding wire, because we are “thrifty” and wanted a free site. My favorite part is that I can a different song to each page :)

We’re using weddingwindow too! My favorite feature is the ability to upload a song. Actually, I should say that it WAS my favorite feature, because I’ve heard it so much now it’s starting to drive me crazy!

My Fi is a comp sci guy too so of course he has a domain name and everything… we just added a wedding site that we are making from scratch and he’s having fun building his own RSVP and photo sharing stuff.

Your surfing photo is too cute! I tried WeddingWindow and liked it. I just didn’t like their interface when you create/write the pages and add photos.

I wanted a free one and something that I could customize a bit more so I decided to use Wordpress (yup, the blog platform :) ).
