Proposing to the Maids

February 5th, 2009 @ 11:00 am by Mrs. Apple Cider

I love the girls that will be in my wedding. They each fit a different role in my life, and to be cheesy, “complete me”.

I wanted to do something special for them. They all live in North Carolina and I am the far away bride in New York City. I wanted to ask them in a unique way.

I decided I would “propose to them”. I created a card (based on a design by Amy Smyth) - asking “will you be my bridesmaid?”. I used cards from Kate’s Paperie as the background, and printed the images on a regular printer.

I decided to buy some ring pops… get it? I “popped” the question! I also bought some cute boxes from the Container Store ($.79 cents each).

I sent them out, and they all said yes!!

I can’t imagine doing this without them by my side!

So cute! I didn’t do anything special for my maids, only because they already knew before we officially got engaged they were going tobe in our wedding, but now I almost regret not doing something really cute for them…

That’s really cute. I sent each of my girls (who all live in CA) a package with a very long letter about how important they are to me, and then asking them if they would be in the wedding. In the package was also a bathrobe with each of their names embroidered in their favorite color. the bathrobe is to be used at the bachelorette party which will be a spa day for me and my girls .

I proposed to my sister with a bird ring from etsy to be my maid of honour. We laughed, we cried. She, of course, said yes.

I love the whole package!!!

That is the cutest idea! I might borrow the ring pop idea, especially as one of my maids and I always used to bring each other ring pops when we needed support for any reason!

So sweet!
