The Bling… I Mean Ring!

February 5th, 2009 @ 3:36 pm by Mrs. Apple Cider

I am excited to share the details with you of how the ring came to be!!

Mr. Apple Cider and I looked at quite a few designs to come up with something unique but classic. I found a ring at James Allen that I really liked, and decided to somewhat copy the design.

I was very lucky to be introduced to a great jeweler in Texas. Her name is Francie Runmark and she has the ability to not only find great deals for diamonds, but also find you the perfect ring.

She worked with us to decide on the perfect center stone (we went with cushion cut!) and the best setting. This was all via email, picture texts and phone calls. She sent pictures of the diamonds on her hand and I even went so far as to cut them out and tape them to my finger. Obsessed? NO WAY!

And ta-da… here is the ring! (Please don’t mind my aged fat fingers!)

We had a little fun with the ring! Diamonds and cupcakes… my favorites!

Did you buy your ring from an online retailer or from a jeweler you never met? How was your experience?

Your ring is similar to mine (which is a Dream cut (Hearts on Fire) in a Ritani pave setting). Simple and classic!

That’s pretty! I too found my ‘first love’ of a ring on James Allen, and ended up getting something similar through a local jeweler.

Very beautiful Miss AC! I LOVE looking at rings online, but I think it would be pretty difficult to order a ring without e ver trying it on! I think we’ll head to a store to try different settings. Then we’ll customize something online. So far, my favorite websites are Sasha Primak and Brilliant Earth.

Mine looks a lot like yours! Mine is cushion cut w/ a French pave band. My fiance got it online at Adiamor and it was perfect!

Your ring is so pretty and even better when it is paired with a cupcake! Mr. Ducky and I never went ring shopping. He really wanted to surprise me, but I definitely gave a few hints to his mom ahead of time.

Gorgeous! Mine is cushion cut too and to tell you the truth, I vacillate between your band and mine (which is broad and flat a la Lucida) about every other day. Love it.

Although I bought my ring from another retailer, my ring is almost like yours! I love mine too, but I am having a problem finding a wedding band. My prongs are on the corner of my Ascher cut stone, like yours. The problem is nothing fits flush next to it…how did you solve this problem, or are you wearing it as a stand alone ring? Just wondering. Thanks and peace, Jillian

My FI got the ring online, from an jeweler in Israel. He got it custom designed for me and said the jeweler was very helpful. I had a suspicion he was going to propose soon, but didn’t know when and had no clue about the ring. I like surprises and it really didn’t matter to me what ring he got me. So it was perfect for me.

I think that is one of the most flawless diamonds I have ever had the pleasure of laying eyes on. It’s so sparkly and clear and white. Gorgeous.

My fiance and I got our custom-made ER and WB from Quest Fine Jewelers in the D.C area. We actually decided to go there after the great reviews from the wedding wire and could not have been more happy!

This is actually a small family owned business owned by 3 brothers. Everyone was extrememly knowledgeable and professional. We worked with Pete and Huan who were always very understanding and accomodating towards our needs. And most importantly I love my rings ;) would highly recommend them!
