Both Mr Breezy and I were descending upon the lobby at the same time but somehow our photographers coordinated it so I stealthily made it upstairs while he remained downstairs.
And then, the big moment had finally come!
At least, it was a big moment for me. I think that Mr Breezy largely humored me when it came to “the big reveal”. He knew it was important to me so he went along with it, though if he had had an option, I think he would have forgone the whole hullabaloo. I appreciate his honesty. Really, I do. But I wouldn’t have had it any differently. Sometimes I find, you have to make something special in order for it to be something special.

And seriously, how fun are these photos?

Awwwww…
But wait a second. “Awwwwwww….”?!?!? That is so not how Mr Breezy and I usually roll. Let’s tell the real story, shall we?
Photophil: “So Mr Breezy, what do you think of your bride? Is she beautiful or what?”
Mr Breezy: “Mehhhhhhh…. she’s okay, I guess.”

Yep. That’s more like it.
Then I kick Mr Breezy in the shins and tell him to play nice just for two seconds.

Good shot! Okay, as you were.
Mr Breezy and I chose to do the reveal and our bride and groom portraits before the wedding ceremony for a few reasons. The biggest was the fact that the sun set at 6:00 PM at that time of year in the Dominican, and since our ceremony was scheduled for 4:30, we didn’t have a lot of time for post-ceremony photos.
On top of that, the more I thought about it, the more I believed it would give me a chance to get my emotions under control. I’m a big, sentimental crier and I had awful nightmares of myself falling to pieces as I walked down the aisle toward Mr Breezy and blubbering throughout my vows. I was certain that seeing each other before would help.
It definitely did.

It also helped that when we get together, we always end up being goofy.

If you think Mr Breezy looks uncomfortable in the next shot, you’re not alone. I think he needed to practice this move a bit (nyuk nyuk… like that was gonna happen).

This is me being a bossy-boss and telling him he needs to kiss my hand more. Yah, he thought it was just as funny as you did.

Taking these shots was actually a lot more work than it looks. For one, the heel height of my lovely purple shoes meant that I had to crouch down. Whew! Talk about a quad workout!

Yeah, I’m a wimp. I could only hold that pose for so long.

Photophil told me to hold my flowers backwards and I’ll admit: I felt dumb doing it. But hey, I’d pretty much have trusted him with my life that day so if he said hold ‘em that way, I held ‘em that way. And whaddaya know? It looks quite nice! (I will never doubt again.)

He also told me to hug the big steel pineapple. ‘Tcha! Of course! Like I wasn’t hugging it already every single day!

Mr Breezy: Ahhh. It feels good to sit down. Can we stay here for a while?
Me: Not a chance. Enjoy it while you can.

This yellow wall makes me want to paint the walls of our home this color. Isn’t it so warm and lovely?

Oh, why hello. Fancy meeting YOU here.

We’re like those stuffed dogs with magnets in their noses.

I swear we did more kissing on our wedding day than on any other day before or since. Seriously. I regretted not having had the foresight to stuff some lip balm down the front of my dress.

We finally went back down to the lobby and waited for the rest of the bridal party and family to trickle in for some group portraits. While we waited, I got my favorite picture of Mr Breezy to date.

Mmmmm. So handsome.
Pretty soon, we started getting restless and dorky. Again. Impromptu dips, anyone?

He had been on his best behavior for so long, it was inevitable that the true Mr Breezy would come out, sooner, rather than later.

Ah yes, there it is. And the universe is once more restored to balance.
