About Mrs. Lemonade

Crew to the Rescue!

February 8th, 2009 @ 1:30 pm by Mrs. Lemonade

Now, I know we’ve had our ups and downs. As you may remember we recently had a big fight that left us not on speaking terms. Yet, just like any solid friendship, time heals all wounds and eventually we made up. I’m speaking, of course, of my true best friend, J.Crew (who happens to be good pals with many of the other bees!).

I had been a bit distraught lately as the perfect wedding shoes kept eluding me. I’d searched bridal sites, high-end department stores, bargain outlets, EVERYWHERE to no avail. With my tail between my legs I trotted back over to the Crew site to test the waters and see what I could find. Within minutes I found a pair of beautiful Italian-made heels (with an ankle strap! Hooray!) and the perfect matching clutch. Crew and I made up, I placed the items in my cart, checked out, and called it a day. Except 2 days later I had yet to receive a confirmation email. Now, I’ve ordered enough items in my day to know the confirmation email comes pretty darn quickly. Damn you, J.Crew, are you still trying to spite me?!

I quickly called the customer service line and spent the next 30 minutes chatting with the most professional and genuine CSR I have yet to encounter. I previously had a VERY BAD experience with an ahem, gentleman, during the bridesmaid dress fiasco (side note, yes, she has found the dress!) and I was wary of a repeat performance leaving me accessory-less. Luckily I hit the CSR jackpot and was connected to a dude who (seemed) to actually care about his job and my shoes.

He righted the wrong, ensured me my pretties would be on their way, and when he learned they were to be worn for my wedding he hooked me up with free express shipping! Holla! I only wish I had taken down his name so I could share with the world (and his supervisor) what a fantastic experience it was! Here’s to you nameless Crew CSR, for ending the longstanding battle between your employer and me!

Anyhow, these lovelies arrived a few days ago:

The shoes are divine — but I think I can’t appreciate them properly because I am distracted by the clutch in the last photo! Miss Lemonade, where did you get that gorgeous bag?

Good grief … you said in the post it’s a J. Crew bag. Sorry, clearly my reading comprehension skills need some work ;-)

I am still trying on shoes! I have something in mind- but I wouldn’t be able to explain it to anyone. I guess I will just know the right shoe for me when I see it and put it on! But so far- four shoe stores and countless retailers!

They’re soo pretty and classic. I love the clutch! J. Crew has been good to me so far. They also got me free express shipping on a dress they had out of stock. The CSR’s have been very nice.

How Many? Dozens! I am retail-deprived down here in paradise (St Thomas) and I ordered over a dozen pairs before settling on an ivory ’show’ pair and silver flip flops for the reception.

It was fun though! I sort of miss having a fashion ‘mission’ to be on the hunt for : (

I have been abusing the Crew too much lately. The sales have been awfully tempting. I bought my dress from there, as well as a chiffon jacket to try to wear with it, among other things.
You got some great stuff!

Those are adorable and I love the clutch. I haven’t bought anything yet, but my search is a little more wide open since I’m going the colored route. I have yet to really fall in love with anything so far.

I just went to Jcrew’s website because these are GORGEOUS…but I couldn’t find them anywhere!! Am I missing something obvious? Do you recall the name of them? Gah - I hope they’re not all snapped up already. Boo.
