When Mr Breezy and I met in the lobby for the reveal, it was shortly after 1PM (the ceremony was set for 4:30PM). It didn’t feel like we had been taking pictures for almost two hours so when our families started trickling in, it was a shock. Having pictures done with them was top on our priority list so we had also scheduled them pre-ceremony.
I hadn’t thought of it but of course this turned out to be the big “reveal” to them, too! As soon as they saw us, they rushed over and cooed and pulled out their own cameras for some candids. It was mass photo hysteria for a while, there. But I wouldn’t have had it any other way - it was an exciting moment for them too, you know? Plus we got some really fun photos from our friends while we were just hangin’ out.

First, the bridal party portraits. We got a couple shots when we were all out on the balcony…
But there’s something so intimate about the shots we got on the stairs that I just love.
We also tried out the parasols for effect, but is it just me or do they just look dorky indoors? Oh well, it was worth a try.
My FAVORITE picture out of this series was Mr Breezy with the gals. Oh girls, you are such temptresses. Especially you, Miss leggy Pepperpot (ahem).
Of course, that meant me and the boys had to try to top it.
Pretty hot (but the gals take the cake).
Time for the mamas and the papas to get in on the action. Behold, the Breezys.
I love my in-laws - I think I got the best ones on the planet. Seriously. They’re amazing.

And my two newest SILs! I always pined for my very own sisters and though my darling parents didn’t deliver, thankfully I still got ‘em in the end.
Our ADORABLE flower girl Ella (my brother’s daughter) and ring bearer ‘Mr G’ (Mr Breezy’s nephew) were just sittin’ there chillin’ during this whole process. Mr G is obsessed with drums so they were having an awesome time playing with the drum Uncle Breezy got him in the DR.
In true three-year-old fashion, he was really curious about my veil.
“Auntie Sea Breeze, what’s that thing on your head??”
And Ella? Well, she went for the shoes AGAIN - she literally lifted up my dress to look at them.
I told you she’s a girl after my own heart!
Whew. The portraits are done - time to hie me away to my secret corner to wait for the ceremony to begin.

love everything! You look absolutely stunning! where did you get beautiful ella’s dress? I have my own fabulous niece who will need a white dress/purple sash come this fall…
These are such fun family photos and you really show us why doing all those photos pre-ceremony might actually be way better and much less stressful.

@Habibi: I’ll have to ask my SIL where she got Ella’s dress and let you know. It came with a different purple sash which we didn’t like so Mama SB made this one instead.
Do you think it took away from the moment that fact that you KNEW you guys were already married? Were you able to forget and live the ceremony like it was the first time?
I’m worried mine will take away from the happiness.

@mmm: I know what you’re going through - I had the same worries too. But it all depends on how you look at it. For us, the ceremony we did at home was mostly just paperwork, i.e. “the marriage”. The Punta Cana extravaganza was the real and true “wedding” for us and yes, it absolutely felt special and amazing! Our friends and family are of paramount importance to us so naturally, the thing that counted was declaring our love in front of all of them, and having them witness our promises to each other. It all comes from you so if you want it to be special, it will be.
