With all this going on, Mr. Kitten and I decided to have a tropical, "stress-free" destination wedding. Nevertheless, my micromanaging, detail-oriented, perfectionist side has prevailed---I am currently obsessed with every last detail of my "stress-free" destination wedding! But most of all, I'm beyond excited to become Mrs. Kitten on a fabulous Caribbean vacation surrounded by my friends and family!
About Mrs. Kitten

I've Been Outcrafted By a Six-Year-Old! : wedding diy stationery 112 1

You may remember that I sent “Will You Be My Flower Girl?” cards to my special little ladies, Cousin Kitten and Future Niece Kitten. I was so excited to hear back from the girls and their parents when they received the cards. Future Brother-In-Law Kitten called as soon has he got the package, and gushed about how much his daughter, Future Niece Kitten, loved the card and gifts. But a few weeks passed and I STILL hadn’t heard a response from Cousin Kitten!

Yesterday, I casually asked my dad if he had heard anything. He said something along the lines of “Oh, yeah… you sent her a card? …Right… I heard something about that… they really liked it.”

Liked it? After all my slaving away with the paper and the glue and the stamps and the embossing?!

Liked it?! Honestly, I was a little annoyed. Were all my DIY wedding projects going to go unnoticed and unappreciated? It was a little discouraging. But coincidentally, the very next day I received a card from Cousin Kitten in the mail! I opened it up and this is what I found:

(Dear Kitten, thank you for wonderful presents. I love the books. I love you and can’t wait to be your flower girl. Love, Cousin Kitten.)

So cute! I guess I shouldn’t be too surprised that I was out-crafted by little Cousin Kitten. I need to step up my game! More DIY projects to come!

Have you ever slaved away at a wedding project, only to be disappointed by the response?

That is pretty freakin adorable! Honestly, I wish I could tell you differently, but get ready for the possibility that further less than enthusiastic responses to your DIY are coming. Not from everyone of course–my Mum and my MOH and my sister all oohed and aahed over my lovely DIY invitations. I’m trying hard to only do the sweet little things that bring ME joy, and that way I care much less about anyone else’s opinion.

That’s precious! My niece is only 3, so her response was a lot less crafty! ;-)
