About Mrs. Powder Puff

Open Mouth. Insert Foot.

February 9th, 2009 @ 11:02 am by Mrs. Powder Puff

OK, so do you remember when I blogged about my friend who was being forced to perform a bridal party dance at a wedding? Well, that wedding occurred this past weekend, and, in true 2009 style, the video of the dance was posted on Facebook the next day. And, in true Miss Powder Puff style, I was all over that like a bad rash.

Peeps, I am ashamed to admit it, but I was wrong. This dance looks totally… FUN! Consider me proven wrong!

Here is the dance in all its awesome glory for your viewing pleasure. (I couldn’t figure out how to get it from Facebook to Weddingbee, so I simply recorded it with my camera. Please excuse the horrible quality and editing.)

Open Mouth. Insert Foot. : wedding dance

Have you ever changed your mind about a wedding trend?

ooh, my fiance would never think about doing something like this. I guess it’s just not our style. I’ve always wanted to go to a wedding where the bridal party did a rock the reception dance…maybe someday!

this video is hilarious though! do you know if the couple come up with this mix themselves?

SO FUN! I’m cheesy so I love these choreographed dances. LOL ‘all over that like a bad rash’. So true about Facebook, it’s a mad dash to see who posts their pics/videos first!

that was super cute. They all looked like they had a great time. I don’t think I could get my bridesmaids to go for it. my groomsman on the other hand, I think would be in. my broth-in-law who doesn’t dance, said he would if we could all do the thriller dance . Anyway, glad they all had fun, but in an effort to make all as comfortable as possible, I will forego this idea. Hope all of you that decide to do this have a great time.

wow! that looks awesome! i don’t know how they choreographed that with so many people. my hubby and I did a first dance mix that we choreographed and that was hard enough with TWO people!!

I think those fun planned things at a wedding are awesome! great entertainment!!

Awww, if people aren’t nervous performers, then yes, that looks like fun!

It is cute but I am not a dancer and just the idea would make my fiance a run-away groom.

@lobster girl: My FH doesn’t generally enjoy making a public spectacle of himself (and I think this kind of dance would fall into that category for him), but I know it would be a totally different story if I suggested the Thriller dance routine…that’s not a bad idea, actually.

I am such a cheeseball, I would so do this!! I can see some of our bridal party being into it, but some not at all. They are all over the country anyway, we could never get it together! :) Thanks for posting this!

Though Mr. D wouldn’t like this too much I’m really thrilled my MOH will probably do one at her wedding. That guy inthe video IS really good!

I would be soo nervous to do this for a friend’s wedding. It might even be a deal breaker when it comes to accepting a bridesmaid request! I wouldn’t mind watching it as a guest though!

I loved seeing the guys move!!! what fun– I think these types of things are so much better when you know the hams up there dancing… just watching the video it seemed like they did too many songs– but I bet if I knew them I would be cheering for more??? What a fun way to show off your personality

That did look fun, I just can’t ever figure out who people coordinate that stuff, though.

That looks like so much fun! I don’t know if I could memorize all those moves though after being nervous for just our first dance that will be a choreographed ballroom dance.
