RSVP Cards

February 11th, 2009 @ 6:14 pm by Mrs. Spring Roll

It’s been a few weeks since our invitations were mailed, and our RSVP cards are slowly (very, very slowly) trickling in.

With the arrival of our returned cards, I have been thinking of what to do with them, as I could never throw them away.

As a lover of all things organized, I think the Mindy Weiss card organizer is a cute way to store RSVP cards.

While the organizer is cute, I would prefer a more visual way to display our cards. Kim, a bride featured on Style Me Pretty, had the wonderful idea to use her RSVP cards as escort cards. She stamped the card with each guest’s table number, and hung them from ribbon.

While the escort card idea is wonderful, we ultimately decided to store our RSVP cards, as well as greeting cards, in a scrapbook. Our guests took the time to write us nice notes, and the scrapbook will allow us to forever cherish them. FSIL Spring Roll made a scrapbook for her cards, and has been so kind to make us one as well.

I wish I had a photo to show of the scrapbook, but the book itself is a surprise for Mr. Spring Roll and me.

What did you/do you plan to do with your returned RSVP cards?

Scrapbook is what I imagine I’ll end up doing with mine, as well. But, eager to hear any especially creative ideas!

I will probably scrapbook mine too after the reception! I love the idea of using the rsvp cards as table numbers/escort cards!
That’s a very eco-friendly way to save some trees and some green ($$$) too!

Honestly I’m throwing mine away once the wedding is over. I can’t see myself wanting to look at them in the future. I’m also pitching the cards (already threw away the ones from the showers) and don’t even want a guest book but others say its not a wedding with out one.

I hadn’t even thought about what to do with our RSVP cards yet because our invitations haven’t gone out yet! These are some great ideas for putting them to use. I love the idea of re-using them as escort cards! Very eco-friendly! :)

i’m loving the escort card idea as well! although i would want them back as a keepsake. maybe i can pin them to a board and just have my guests look at their table numbers rather than take the escort cards?

We’ve already decided to throw them away after the wedding. I have vowed to lead a clutter-free life and so far, throwing things away is the way to go and there has yet to be a single regret to date.

I loooove the idea of using the reply cards as escort cards. I’m totally stealing that. But that will mean I have to make my reply cards small enough to attach to apple.

We made a tree. Yes, a tree.

Since we did custom RSVPs, a couple of bees have asked their guests to draw things. I adopted this and had our guests draw a robot (we’re into them, what can I say).

Here’s the result: http://www.photo.uniqueday.com/gallery/6427305_zHMD3/1/407150461_X9FH5#408290405_Z23XW-L-LB

I made copies of each RSVP so I could refer back to them later, and then i cut & posted them onto red paper, which hung from branches. The guests loved it, and w got a great response. I only wish there was a better picture!

I would say scrapbook - you can also put other keepsake papers in there, like cards you get from your guests.

@Mrs. Cupcake: What a small world!

@Trebuchet: I love the robot idea, so cute!

Our escort cards have not been especially keepsake-worthy so far. I guess maybe I’ll keep the ones that are exciting, but I can’t see myself wanting to keep the others.

To be honest, we’ll probably throw ours away. That’s the lowest thing on the list to keep/scrapbook.

I had never even thought of this! We’ll probably also keep ours and store them. Thanks for the great ideas! :)

Haven’t thought about the rsvp cards, but reusing them as escort cards is smart and fun!

Ours are in a pile in a closet at the moment, not quite sure what to do with them. When you do get that scrapbook you must share…maybe I’ll decide that’s what I should do with my cards!

I haven’t thought about what we will do with our rsvp cards yet, but I like the scrapbook idea! We will probably keep any cards with special notes on them.

Add me to the ‘hadn’t thought about it’ bandwagon. I never even considered you’d want to! *lol* I plan on using them to help organize my seating chart, beyond that no idea! I guess it will depend on if we get notes worth keeping…

I have to wait and see what gets sent back to me…we’re doing a “madlibs” theme for our invitations (love ‘em! Can’t wait to post about them after they’re in the mail), so there’s places on the RSVP cards for responders to fill in messages of advice to us - hopefully we’ll get some good responses that we can frame or scrapbook!

I like the scrapbook idea best. Then you can store other stuff from your wedding as keepsakes. maybe even use some of the pretty wrapping paper as design elements on some of the pages? :)

I have no idea what we’ll do with ours…they aren’t really fancy, and not really good for excort cards since they’re two-sided…*sigh* if only I had thought about this before we sent them out!

i love the idea of hanging them! I have an old bulletin board from my high school years still up on my wall. Maybe I’ll clear all the old ticket stubs and prom pictures off of it and display them there.

I bought a scrap book that I will be putting all the paper products and notes in (separate from our wedding album). We will have our RSVP cards, invitations, ceremony program, etc. Although right now it is all sitting in a bag in the corner of our living room… Bad bride!
