Gifts for the Groomsmen & Ushers

February 14th, 2009 @ 12:45 pm by Mrs. Stiletto

What to get for the men in the wedding? The bridesmaids are so easy because I’ll gift them their jewelry, plus a couple of other accessories/sentimental items. But you can’t be as sentimental with the guys. And with 5 groomsmen and 3 ushers, we definitely need to come up with some manly gifts.I was really surprised to find that Tiffany’s has crystal barware that we can actually afford! Wouldn’t paring one of these glasses with a small bottle of their favorite liquor or beer (depending on the guy’s drink of choice) be fun? Although something from Tiffany’s would probably be much more appreciated by the ladies than the guys, I assume that in general, unveiling Tiffany’s boxes should class up any rehearsal dinner, regardless of the recipients.

Or, what about this great money clip with an initial? This money clip can be customized with different fonts and is something that any guy could use.

I know I can’t always win and assume that the things Mr. Stiletto and I are choosing for the bridal party are things that they’ll love/want to wear again, but that won’t stop us from trying my hardest to find the perfect gifts, right down to every last detail. And if they don’t like something, hopefully they’ll just keep that to themselves and let me believe we’re amazing gift givers!

Do you have any ideas for unique groomsmen’s gifts?

I like the beer of the month club for the guys, but it isn’t something that lasts after the wedding, so we are still trying to figure something out. Also, cyberoptix ties are really awesome (and from Detroit!), but I have already given them as gifts to Mr. Taffy’s brothers, so that’s out for us. :(

She’s also on etsy:

She is very nice and the ties are awesome! :)

Not sure of your budget, but personalized Ipod Shuffles are always a nice gift. My fiance got one for a wedding he was in recently, and it was the perfect gift. Something they can always use (even if they have a full-sized, a shuffle is always a nice addition) and relatively inexpensive. Good luck!

the tiffany bar ware idea is really awesome. i love the look of the glasses. we are thinking of giving the groomsmen tickets to the same sporting event and beers of the world sold at costplus.

We’re giving the Best Man a really nice Leatherman tool. Even though he likes beer as much as the next guy, I don’t think he’d pull out a Tiffany beer glass, he’d just guzzle from the bottle. We thought about money clips, but he wouldn’t use that either. Ultimately we decided to go for function rather than form. But we will personalize it, so at least it’s not totally generic!

The Ipod shuffle is a good idea! We are still totally stuck on the groomsmen gifts…it is really hard to think of something they’ll like and actually use.

I’m not sure what Mr. MagPie is thinking yet for his group, but these are some solid suggestions! My sister’s husband — among other things — gave them cutom-personalized bobblehead dolls. :-)

We’re giving everyone ray-ban sunglasses right before the photos are taken. And we’ll all be wearing them for some of our pictures! my dad and step mom did the same thing 15 years ago, so i thought it was a cute picture and a great gift! and if they dont like the raybans they can take them back to sunglass hut for whatever kind they want!

We’re considering getting members of our wedding party subscriptions to their favorite magazines as part of their gifts. We’ll present them with the current issue and let them know that a year’s worth are on their way!

Love all the ideas shared!

I swear men are the hardest to buy for…and they always seem to end up with cufflinks..but what guy actually wears cufflinks more than once a year?! If that.

iPod Shuffles - totally great idea!!

Thanks for all the ideas! @MightySapphire: awesome idea, we like functional gifts too. This might be perfect as a gift for the dads too!
