Mountain Menu

February 16th, 2009 @ 12:29 pm by Mrs. Champagne

I know menus aren’t the most exciting aspect of planning a wedding, but we really wanted our guests to see some of the menu items we had chosen because they were sort of themed around our location. So where’s a gal to turn for DIY menus? To my trusty Gocco, of course. Our monogram is literally going to be EVERYWHERE at our ceremony, reception, and even on our OOT bags. Our menu is no exception! I put our menu on Stardream opal text paper and taped it to Stardream Onyx cardstock. We’ll place them inside the napkins on the tables.

I actually did these in two steps, and just separated the menu top and bottom. Toward the end, the ink was definitely travelling to the adjacent text. I’ve found that if you have a small amount of space between text you want to be different colors, you can double up on the ink blocking material. I cut one thin strip and then put another on top of that to prevent the ink from going over the foam.

I get hungry just reading the menu—I can’t wait to actually eat what we’ve chosen!

Even though I didn’t plan on this being a lengthy project, it turned out to take a bajillion steps. I’ve been to weddings where there weren’t menus, and I barely noticed!

How important was a printed menu for your wedding?

I think it’s a really nice touch to include menus. The food at the wedding is often so well thought out, and menus help the guests realize what they’re eating, and that so much consideration went into this part of the celebration. Great job!

I definitely need to eat breakfast now, I am totally drooling. I love the salad! Yum!

We are doing stations so we are including a small map of the stations and what each station includes on each guest table.

I think it’s a nice touch and yours are beautiful. I was just too lazy to do one for my wedding because I knew the only person who would keep one would be me. Your menu is making me hungry!

I think menus are a great gesture to keep your guests “in the know” about your reception, and what’s to come.

Those look great, Miss C!

These look great!! I want to make menus for our reception as well. As a guest I always like to see the delicious food I will be eating…maybe that’s because I like food too much. :)

I’m DIYing our menus and I can’t imagine a reception without them!! They’re definitely a BIG part of our aesthetic! But I think making menus gives a personal touch to the reception.

PS-Your menu looks really yummy!

I really like your menu! I wasn’t planning on doing menus, but since we are having a buffet maybe I will make cards for the different dishes!

We’ve just selected our invitations, but we know we are looking forward to printing the menus. I think it’s really important, especially if you’re foodies or there’s a special cultural dish reflected in it! Your menu is absolutely delishes sounding (and pretty to boot)!

I don’t remember menus much either from the weddings I’ve been too… but I don’t feel like I can part with them.. I think I just like having my name written everywhere! =P
