I had my hair and makeup done by Ai Sakai for a recent event (Ai also did Mrs. Snow Pea’s wedding hair and makeup). This is a horrible self-portrait taken in my bathroom after a very long day, but you get the picture. Ai is so sweet, and she was such a pleasure to work with! She started out as a hair stylist, so I especially loved my curls, but she also did a fantastic job on my makeup!
I typically stick to very neutral colored lipsticks, so I love that she used a bolder color on me.
The products she used are:
MAC Eye shadow: Retrospeck, Honeylust, Blanctype
Bobbi Brown Eye shadow: Cement
MAC Lipstick: Roleplay
MAC Blush: Style, Honour
Primer: Smashbox Photofinish
Foundation: MAC
Mascara: Fiberwig
I learned a trick from her that I’ll definitely use in the future. I love Ardell’s individual short flare lashes, and am pretty good at applying them myself. Ai used medium flare lashes on the outer corners of my eyes, and short flare lashes towards the center for a natural effect. Brilliant!
I’d love to take a class on applying makeup one day. I can never get my makeup looking nearly as good as when the pros do it. Makeup artists are truly artists! 
How’d she style your hair? I can never get mine to hold a curl, so I’m always looking for tips!
She teased the roots with some product, and then used more styling product on each section of hair before curling it, then finished it off with hairspray. I’ve never really had trouble holding a curl so I don’t have any great advice other than using product on your hair before each curl?

She did a great job, and you look gorgeous! I love the simplicity of the curls. The bold lip color works well for you.

You look great! Ai has become so popular because of Weddingbee and other wedding related blogs. I remember the first post about Sachiko and AI - they are both really great and now have a really large clientele list !

The makeup is incredible. Yet natural. love it! I just might try false eyelashes now..you did two different lengths right?
As soon as we nab a venue I’m going on a hunt for a makeup artist.
