About Mrs. Canary

Valentines!!!

February 17th, 2009 @ 4:01 pm by Mrs. Canary

Sorry for the delayed posting. I just wanted to make sure everyone received their Valentines before posting the photos. I am in awe of the talent and creativity of all the bees and readers. Wow! You are all crafting superstars. We had a total of about 50 swappers and hopefully everyone got theirs by now. If not, just write me at canary [at] weddingbee [dot] com and I will see what I can do. Otherwise, enjoy the beautiful Valentine creations (posted in no particular order) courtesy of the hive! Also, don’t forget to rate your fellow swappers on Swap-Bot.

Mrs. Candy Corn’s delightful hand-illustrated cards.

Julie K.’s first DIY project.

RDolls will be making program fans for her August wedding and decided to incorporate the design into her Valentines.

Hannah S.’s red-inspired packages filled with tasty Valentine treats.

Miss Powder Puff’s hand painted watercolor Valentine.

Miss Taffy got creative with her new paper cutter and Martha Stewart punch!

Allison D. used paper, stickers, and a little creativity to make these beauties.

Miss Crab Cake’s lovely fabric and thread creations.

PurpleHaze79’s gorgeous folded paper cards.

Mrs. Cherry Pie made heart-shaped bee-inspired glittered cards.

Miss Latte Goccoed the cards, then added little felt hearts adorned with bees and mailed them in envelopes with Goccoed liners.

Imer52’s knit flowers adorned with buttons and attached them to the cutest Weddingbee-inspired card.

Michele G. made Valentines out of shades of pink and included the most adorable pink bee ornament.

Miss D’orsay paper cut designs onto red hearts… all the way from the UK.

Pretty Kitty cut out decorative paper for applique and used embroidery floss to freehand the word “love” on the front of the cards. The back of each card had more applique and a cut out heart with a message.

Hayley E.’s colorful Valentine decorated with paper doilies.

Mrs. Cookie’s fun threaded hearts!
Mrs. Avocado’s delicious heart-shaped marshmallows and cocoa Valentines.

Heather S.’s matchbook Valentine.

DomesticandFabulous’s rockin’ iPod Valentine.

Berkeley_Bride made “fortune cookies” out of three coordinating fabrics (one of each fabric for each swapper). For the fortunes, she printed different quotes about love. Then she packaged each one in baby pink take-out boxes.

Mrs. Green Tea made yummy love bark and topped them off with a cute bee magnet. Check out her DIY tutorial here!

MrsMosses glittered and Goccoed Valentines in her wedding colors.

Miss Quiche made “Sweet Pulls” - a pocket with sweets inside that are revealed when you pull up on the ribbons. She used fruity gum, took off their paper wrappers and made her own with coordinating paper. The pink flap on top conceals a message.

Sal75 incorporated many paper elements to create these Valentine cards.

MagPie518’s beautiful patterned Valentine with the sweetest tree illustration.

VanGal’s black and white, paper-cut, and 3D inspired Valentine!

Shannon B.’s hand punched and pink-laden cards.

Kimberly B’s red and white layered hearts cards.

Mrs. Bird of Paradise’s Valentine package included: a kraft box with letterpress note + 3 letterpress Valentine’s Day gift tags + envelopes.

Rebecca S. used a Cuttlebug to emboss the red layer on the cards, and a Cricut Expressions to cut out the address label on white full-sheet labels and the two hearts in the lower left corner. The envelope was lined with the same patterned paper as the hearts.

Firefighter_Prazs_Girl had her fiance, Mr. FF (as well as some of his co-workers at the fire station), help make her Valentines!

Prncsstp’s beautifully wrapped chocolate bar with a “bee mine” printed ribbon.

Mrs. Eggplant’s super detailed and pro-crafted cards. Who else thinks that Mrs. E should open an Etsy shop?

And lastly, my Valentine goodie bag, which included: a handmade felt puff heart, Necco Conversation Hearts, Chocolate Kisses, and Crunch hearts, packaged in a cello bag and topped off with a doily and heart ornament.

OMG the talent around these parts. Insane! And Mrs. Canary - Thank you for the AWESOME valentine! It was unexpected and totally made my day. We were watching top chef while I was munching on my candy you gave me, and I swear, one of the conversation hearts said “top chef”. How bizzare and rad :)

I would like to take this opportunity to apologize for the horrifyingly UGLY Valentines I crafted and sent. They were in no way a reflection of how much I love the hive and all the bees. With that said, I totally loved the valentines I got and am so happy to do this. Next year I will do better, I PROMISE! Thank you for organizing Mrs. Canary!!
