All You Need is Love Songs…

February 18th, 2009 @ 6:18 pm by Mrs. Champagne

A few of you asked to see the details on our CD place cards. As you may recall, I used the same belly band on our invitations, designed the CD layout using one of Avery’s free templates, and Goccoed each page and the CD itself.

I shamelessly used Mrs. Tiramisu’s “All you need is Love Songs” layout because I love it so much!

We included our first dance song, “Bless the Broken Road”, by Rascal Flats, and songs that fit our style. like “Follow Through” by Gavin DeGraw, and “Everything” by Michael Buble. If you’re looking for a great alternative version of the classic song “Fever”, listen to Sophie Milman’s take on the song—it’s wonderful. We paid for each song (one purchase per seven burns per song, following iTunes policy), and were able to use some of our iTunes gift cards we got for Christmas, making this DIY relatively inexpensive!

In addition to the CD, we included a card with details on how guests can share their photos with us on flickr.com. Each guest’s table will be found on the back of the CD.

The only thing I wish we could have changed was to have each person’s menu choice somehow visible to the wait staff. As it is, the waiters will just ask each guest what they chose for their entree. No biggie, but it’s an extra step for them.

How are you indicating to your wait staff what your guests will be eating?

Ooo, thanks for the reminder: I still need to figure out a way to let our guests know about sharing their pictures!

What a great idea!

At a wedding I went to, they color coded the name cards for each entre (steak or chicken).

That looks so pretty and positively professional.

At a friend’s wedding, one entree was marked by a dot on the place card; no dot meant the other entree. It was hardly noticeable.

That is a phenomenal idea!! I might have to piggyback the idea of having the CD be the favorites of the WP. :)

Color code the name cards, or add a little mark or something so that the waiters know each person’s dinner selection.

The CDs are great- they look amazing!

Our venue actually REQUIRES that we somehow indicate entree choice. It has to be visible from a distance of 5′ in low light to make it easier for the waitstaff. I don’t mind the requirement - I honestly wouldn’t have thought about it.

your gocco skills are awesome :)

we are having a buffet so we don’t have to indicate our guests’ meal preferences.

I love this project! I don’t think we’ll have the time or patience to do it, but it’s a great escort card idea.

I love the designs you and Mrs. Tiramisu used. Where did you get the CD holder? Since we’re having a destination wedding we’d like to send each guest a “road trip” CD for the drive to Florida.

we are doing escorted seating, so all the guests will have a place card at their seat when the staff brings them to their table. We were thinking of having the name printed in one of our wedding colors, depending on the entree (we have three, so it would be either black, raspberry, or silver). I would def. do it if we were having 2 entrees, but it may look silly with 3. I am going to make a mock-up soon to see how it turns out.

Hello All,
Just wanted to let you know that my husband and I use http://www.ourweddingcd.com to create a custom cd favor for our guests. They were great and everyone seemed to really enjoy them!
