I Am a Headpiece Girl

February 20th, 2009 @ 12:04 pm by Mrs. Apple Cider

I am 100% a headpiece girl. I love wearing hats and headpieces. See below for 2 examples of my headpiece obsession in my every day non-wedding life.

I Am a Headpiece Girl : wedding accessories hair Untitle (had to include a pic of Mr. AC)

I decided that I will definitely wear a headpiece for the wedding. I have been looking at so many, and I’m not sure yet what direction I will go. Like so many I am a fan of Muscari by Easter Yu and Oh My Deer.

I have seen so many gorgeous brides with unique headpieces. Check out these that I have looked to for inspiration.

I also have decided that I will definitely wear a birdcage veil. It seems to fit my spirit and the mood I want to set. I was blessed with curly hair (which does become a burden at times), but is easy to change at a moment’s notice. I know am planning to wear my hair up for the ceremony and then take it down for the reception and have just the flower in.

I can’t wait to find the perfect headpiece.

What will you wear in your hair? Are you a headpiece bride?

My dress has an amazingly cool floral piece, so even though it’d be neat to do a headpiece, I’m afraid it’d be overkill!

I’m wearing a very traditional, hand monogrammed, cathedral length veil for my ceremony, then planning on asking a creative friend to make me a stylin’ feathery headpiece for the reception!

They’re so cute and fun!

I’m not sure yet… I would love to have both a veil and a headpiece, but I worry there will be too much going on, so we’ll see.
P.S. You and Mr AC are super cute :)

Ooooh! I love them all! So beautifully quirky! I love giant peony and the Muscari ones with the freckled feathers the most! You look good in that black netting, btw! :)

I definitely want to wear a headpiece flower of some sort but haven’t found the right one yet. I may try to DIY it.

I’m going to wear a headpiece by Oh, My Deer! I’m so excited about it. I love all of the options above.

I already bought my birdcage veil, which I plan to swear flipped as a snooded veil, like Mrs. Avocado’s, for the reception. As a result, I’m really not sure what to do about the headpiece/fascinator part. I have a lot of floral detailing on the bodice of my dress, so I don’t want to have floral overkill, but I haven’t found the sweet little bling piece I’m imagining would look best. Plus, I’m also confused as to whether I’ll have to move my headpiece when I flip the veil over for the reception. Any ideas??

I ordered a modified birdcage with a custom floral piece from Myra Kim. Love it!

My veil is very simple so I want a headpiece to go with it - something simple with pearls to tie it all in. I found the perfect one on Etsy: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=20758879

I’m going to get one for my MOH as well.

I’d love to wear a headpiece but since I never ever wear any headpieces in everyday life, it looks a little off on me….I may just do a little flower clip on the side.

I love love headpieces, hands, headbands, eat muffs haha all of them. I am wearing a veil though at the ceremony - I”m keeping it traditional but thinking of busting out the flower during the reception =)

So many pretty headpieces! Before wedding planning I never considered one, but now I am so in love with them.

I went to college with the woman in the Mac Wagner photos (pink flower) and this totally caught me off guard.

I was just boring and wore a cathedral veil, then nothing for the reception. If I could go back, I would have rocked an awesome headpiece for the reception!
