The Search: Part II

February 20th, 2009 @ 12:31 pm by Mrs. Duckling

If you are just catching up, check out Part I to hear about the first store I went to for wedding dresses. The next store we went to just opened up in North County San Diego a few months ago.

The shop is called Bliss Bride, and the two owners, Jennifer and Anne, are so sweet. I had a lot of fun working with them. I really felt special and they close down the whole store just for you. If you are a San Diego bride looking for a smaller shop, then this one is wonderful. Their dresses are higher end, ranging from $2000-$12,000 with the majority being between $3000-$5000.

Once again: MR. DUCKY DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER!

#2 Vera Wang: I really liked this dress. It was very feminine, soft and romantic. The picture does not do it justice, which may be saying something for when guests take pictures. However, it is a little out of the price range…

#9 Anne Barge: This was one of my favorite dresses and I thought about going back for it. The 2nd layer has laser-cut appliqué flowers. It has just an extra special twist.

#10 Amy Kuschel: This is another one that I really liked, especially when I thought about it later. The straps are removable.

#11 Amy Kuschel: Thisdress was also one of my favorites. Part of it was because the sample size happened to fit me well. It’s different than what I had been thinking. It’s a little more glamorous, but I really liked it.

#12 Vera Wang: I would have loved this dress if I were going for the more full and princessy look. However, I think it might be a little much. Unfortunately it’s very pricey.

(Why my hands are grabbing the back of the dress, I have no idea)

Numbers 2, 9, 10, 11 are my favorites, although none of the pictures in this post or the last really do the dresses justice. But, I think you get a good idea of the look of the dresses.

What do you think so far? How many dresses did you try on before you found “the one”?

I love #2 and #9!! I loved Anne Barge dresses, but ultimately had to sacrifice for budget reasons.

I love you in the Amy Kuschel dresses! Maybe it’s because my dress was an Amy Kuschel (a sample I bought on ebay)!

oooh, pretty dresses. I love both of Vera’s, which says a lot because I don’t normally like princess dresses - i love slim fits.
but anyway, to be honest, I think some of the dresses from the first shop were way more flattering on you.

I wish I’d found this store… although it may not have even been open back in November when I was dress shopping. I like 4 and 9… and 10 cuz it reminds me a lot of my dress.

I think I tried on 30 dresses or so. I ended up going back to the first one and just adding straps. Rivini makes beautiful dresses. I can’t wait until it comes in.
