About Mrs. Duckling

I’m using Cheese’s Bee-rodcast System for an important alert!

I know after my recent posts about the Cricut and Cuttlebug, many of you have been on the hunt for a good deal. Weddingbee reader Erika just told me that Jo-Ann Fabrics is currently selling Cricuts and Cuttlebugs at a major discount. There is also a sale on cartridges, embossing folders, and other supplies. You can either look here at their sale online or look at the sales flyer. The Cricut I have is on sale for $99! Also, the Storybook cartridge I used to make my bridesmaid cards is on sale.

If you are not sure which machine is best for you, MarryingtheNavy posted this great link in the comments of a post that has a critique of The Wizard by Spellbinders, Cuttlebug by ProvoCraft, BigShot by Sizzix, and the Cricut Expression by ProvoCraft. Obviously this is one person’s opinion, but you might find it helpful.

I have the original Cricut (the smallest of the 3 Cricuts) and a Cuttlebug.

I think they complement each other very well. I like that the Cricut has cartridges with tons of options and you just have to key in your selection and it automatically cuts out the selection. The Cuttlebug is perfect for embossing, and if you just have one particular image you need to cut out, you can buy a single die cut. I’ve heard wonderful things about Big Shot, and Mrs. Eggplant has one that she uses on many of her wonderful cards.

What are your reviews on the craft machines you own? I’m always looking for new recommendations!

I have the Quickutz Silhoutte and love it. The best part about the silhoutte is that while it costs more than the Cricut, Cuttlebug, etc, it really doesnt in the long run. There are no cartridges to buy!!! It hooks up to your computer (they have a new one that you dont have to use your computer with) and you can create your own art by using clip art, any .ttf font and more. They do have hundreds of designs you can pay for (only $2-4 each) that are supercute. Check out quickutz.com

I saw the advertisement for Jo-Anne on Sunday, and wondered if that was a good price for the Cricut. Of course I immediately thought of all of your posts when I saw it.

I just got back from JoAnns, and it seemed like everything was on sale! I got extra blades for my paper cutter, an adhesive cartridge for the xyron, white paper stock, and a corner rounder. And each item was 40% off!

Then I got some tulle and some organza that was not on sale, but I had a 20% off coupon for the entire purchase. To my surprise, the 20% off was taken from everything… so I got 60% off of the stuff listed above! Whoo!

I’m not crafty, so I’m just posting that I’m laughing that the Bee-roadcast System Messages are becoming a “thing” around here — like talking about playing twister and going to Brazil. :)

I love the scrapbooking shears. There’s just something about the right border on a cute piece of cardstock!

This is awesome, yet dangerous. I have over a year before my wedding, but want to start buying crafting supplies now to play around, so this is great timing!

I absolutly love my cricut!! I used it for so many different projects and especially for the wedding!
I have been looking at the Cuttlebug but didnt know anyone who has one. But now that I have read everyones post…I think another little Bug to my DIY inventory can never hurt!

I’m so glad you did a post on this! I made a post on the boards about the sale on Monday, but I don’t think many people saw it. Being a bee really helps pass the info along!! :) YAY FOR GREAT SALES!!
