A couple weekends ago, my friend Jean asked our e-Photo photog extraordinaire, Inhar, to shoot some pictures of her and her friends. She was moving across the coast and wanted a keepsake photograph of her friends together. Selecting a location was easy. She wanted someplace representative of the east coast, and what better location than Washington DC?! So off we went on a friiiiiiiigid Saturday afternoon.
I wish I was camera ready because while en route to DC, we saw a couple of bridal parties taking pictures around the capital. One bride was dolled up in a pink wedding dress. That’s right folks. Pink.
It was windy. See the Ugg(lies)? Jean is the one who hates them by the way.
With cherry blossom season just around the corner, I’m sure lots of the local brides will be heading downtown for their engagement shots. I can’t help but be slightly envious of DC engagement photos. JE, on the right below, battled the August heat and took wedding shots on the Mall a year ago. Their picture ended up in the Washington Post.

Ooo, I’d love to see pictures from a couple who was surrounded by blossoming cherry trees!
I LURVE having a DC Bride to follow! Even if you are getting married in Hawaii! I have been here for 10 years and always still feel like a tourist. The city is the perfect backdrop for a photo shoot! Glad you guys had fun!
I keep trying to convince my fiance to splurge for a DC engagement shoot (even though our wedding is in Atlanta). Still can’t get him to budge. *sigh*
What a cool idea! I would LURVE to have my e-pics in DC btw, I absolutely love it there!
I am super excited, FI and I will be doing both a DC shoot and San Diego Shoot. I will be foregoing birthday presents, and stuff, but I think it will be worth it to have pictures in DC, and also including our puppy in some of our engagment pics
Oh…I lived in DC for three years to go to law school. Wow…these wonderful pics are making me nostalgic.

We’re getting our engagement photos done in DC soon (we live on U Street!) from the top of the kennedy center.. I CANNOT wait. It’s going to be..amazing.

@Gwen: i hear ya. i am such the tourist in dc. i still get lost and i rarely frequent the museums despite being so close. such a shame! must be better about that..
@DC Anna: you should totally do it! engagement shoots are quite reasonable… i think i saw a posting on the boards offering a free engagement shoot in the area… i’ll look back and see if i can find it.
@lobstergirl: always a fan of canine shots. 
I really like the idea of those photos, i’d love to have something like that with my girlfriends. And i know how everyone says how comfortable and warm they are but….i really don’t like Uggs either : ( I’m well aware i’m in the minority there though!
For DC Brides: You need a permit for that location. But I took a risk on my wedding day and went without one! (As I was not spending another $100 for anything). We did end up getting asked to move though…The ones we did get came out great!
We did our engagement pics down on the Mall starting at the Lincoln Memorial…it was a lot of fun being out there early in the morning before the crowds started to arrive.
