We’re really introverted home-bodies, so just spending time alone together is what we do.

We take bubble baths together…I’m serious! Not only is it a great time where we’re separated from the tv, internet and other distractions, we get to bond and talk about what’s happening, where we’re at with wedding planning, etc. It’s fantastic!

we take a long walk every saturday morning with our dog to grab coffee. its a great way to catch up and talk about the week. we also sometimes say we cant talk about the wedding plans which really helps us not to focus on that too much and enjoy each others company.

We love to cook together and eat without the TV. It’s a bit tough to keep the romance alive when you’re living with your SO’s family so we try to get out and go for walks, see the latest movies and try interesting restaurants. I’m sure the perfume couldn’t hurt though! <3

we have date night every friday night….some weeks, it’s our standy-by mexican place….sometimes it’s a restaurant we pull out of a hat and try for the first time….we talk about our days, our weeks, our lives together….it’s nice to get out of the kitchen and do something fun together!

Haha, right now we’re struggling. I spent January preparing for a conference, and then I got bronchitis. :(

Usually, we spend our weekends doing something fun, to make up for the work week.

We try to spend time together every Friday (during the week tends to be busy with work), and try to cook dinner on Sundays. : )

We really like playing video games together, which is a great start - teamwork! :) We also have a “five things” habit - each of us tells the other 5 things about their day before we go to bed. Helps us to feel connected and in touch, and that helps to keep the romance alive and well.

Along with the post yesterday - we take turns showing the 5 languages of Love. We must verbally, physically, emotionally, etc show and say I love you at least three times a day. It’s not so hard bc it’s more like 30 times a day now, but we want to create this a habit so that it’s never forgotten in our lifetime. And yes we still go on dates =)

My fiance has been learning how to cook and on the evenings I work, he has a wonderful home-cooked meal waiting at home for me. He let’s me relax, kick my shoes, off, and pretty much waits on me hand and foot after being on my feet all day (I’m an RN). It’s VERY romantic and he definitely makes me feel appreciated, and I appreciate him for being so kind and loving :-)

we go out for SUSHI! We had our first dinner date at a sushi restaurant so it serves as a reminder of the start of what we now have.

We keep the romance going by having a different special night date once a month. What makes our monthly date night special is that it involves a surprise for each of us. Luckily, we live near Washington DC so there are lots of great restaurants and activities to do in the city. One of us picks a restaurant (and doesn’t tell the other one) and another person picks an activity for after dinner, like tickets to a show/comedian, tickets to a local game (like hockey, baseball, etc.), or just tickets to a movie that we both had wanted to see. Again, the person planning the activity portion of the night keeps it a secret. The best part is that everyone gets a surprise and it only takes minimal planning. The hard part is coordinating the times without giving away too much. It’s a great and simple way fo us to constantly surprise one another!

Since my fiance and I have been in an LDR for two years we always have a countdown till we see each other. There’s so much excitement built up that we can’t seem to take our hands off each other when we do see each other. The best part is that he’s in the military, so even though it’ll always be hard to see him be deployed, we know we’ll have the excitement of the countdown.

We keep the romance alive trying new things - for Valentine’s Day this year we made chocolate fondue! It was delicious and we had a blast dipping strawberries and pound cake (and maybe an Oreo or two ;) into the fondue pot!

He makes me dinner and cleans the house when I’m sick and I write him love notes and scratch his back after a long day.
