I am having a bridesmaid dress freak out. I want a dress to just speak to me and that just fits with everything. But so far, nothing has done that.
I am contemplating picking a color and letting the girls find a dress in similar shades. I love weddings that have similar shades of dresses. Check out these three weddings. The girls all have different dresses and they look so great!

I carry mustard packets in my purse and I love perusing the aisles at discount stores. A self proclaimed shopaholic, I impulsively buy electronics, software, and craft tools; none of which I know how to use. I'm excited to dust
these babies off and immerse myself in DIY projects galore in
preparation for our DW in paradise!
HOJO was my date this entire weekend as we roamed around DC looking for wedding inspiration. First stop: the opening reception of the Design S exhibition. The exhibit showcased the nominees for the Swedish Design award, all of which focused on the importance of design for functions, communications, and business. Fun fun fun fun fun.
After a couple glasses of wine, I decided this was my favorite. It’s a complete graphic design concept for the Japanese company, Askul, designed by Stockholm Design Lab. I really have no eye for art, but it looked super cool and my mind kept drifting towards packaging ideas for our OOT bags. Since HOJO’s focus is print design, she kept pointing out different design principles to consider. I kept asking her about the elusive pen tool in Adobe Illustrator. Read more…

Or anywhere in France, for that matter!). I’m a full-time worker, part-time student, soon-to-be-step-mom, indie music lovin’, architecture and design fanatic, macaroni and cheese addict, vegetarian, Francophile, Ohio State football obsessed, wedding planning girl. Mr. Quiche and I are “Partners-in-Crime” and cannot wait to celebrate our marriage surrounded by our family and closest friends. I plan on DIYing my little heart out (or as much as a suitcase to Jamaica will hold).
Talk about bridal inspiration last night! White and ivory ruled the red carpet as Hollywood’s leading ladies stole the show with their gowns.
In my opinion, Taraji Henson was the best dressed of the night, hands down. Read more…

With all this going on, Mr. Kitten and I decided to have a tropical, "stress-free" destination wedding. Nevertheless, my micromanaging, detail-oriented, perfectionist side has prevailed---I am currently obsessed with every last detail of my "stress-free" destination wedding! But most of all, I'm beyond excited to become Mrs. Kitten on a fabulous Caribbean vacation surrounded by my friends and family!
One of the dangerous things about Weddingbee is that you can become TOO INSPIRED by all the wonderful wedding goodness you read about on the site. The possibilities for making your wedding personal and customized are endless! And if you are short on time, it can be difficult to squeeze in all of the things you want to do before the wedding.
After outlining the terrifying to-do-list of tasks I need to complete before the wedding, I realized there were a few things I left off! Moo cards are one of those things! I have been coveting Moo cards for a while now. A long line of Bees have used them for various purposes. For those of you who don’t know, Moo prints business cards, post cards, stickers, and other products. The cool part is that you get to print multiple images or text in a set of cards. For example, if you order 100 cards, you can have a different design on each one! Plus, the cards are printed on both sides, increasing your design options even more! Miss Hot Cocoa recently blogged about her Moo cards, featuring her engagement pictures! Read more…
Mrs. Sushi, Hershey/HawaiiAge and Occupation: 27, Air Force PhotographerFiance's Age and Occupation: 25, Laborer/Aspiring Hip Hop ProducerEngagement Date: December 25, 2007Wedding Date: March 2009Blogging Since: October 9, 2006Venue: Byodo-In Temple, Luau ReceptionAbout Me: I’m a notorious people-watcher who loves all things paper, food, traveling, grubbin’ on food, gossip magazines, food, sock monkeys…did I mention food?! Mr. Sushi and I are both haolepinos (half Filipino, half Caucasian) and hope to be able to somehow incorporate our cultures at our destination wedding in Hawaii. All while planning from the sweetest place in earth, Hershey!
Talk about procrastination. It’s less than a week before we leave for Hawaii, and only NOW did we get Mr. Sushi’s suit tailored. Better late than never. It was actually a good thing we waited because Mr. Sushi has been in training mode, and managed to gain over 20 pounds of muscle in 7 months. That determination and dedication, I do not have when it comes to working out.
Here is the tailor pinning Mr. Sushi in. Mr. Sushi brought his wedding day sneakers in too, to make sure the pants are hemmed correctly.
Mrs. Cheese, KnoxvilleAge and Occupation: 29, Engineering ManagerFiance's Age and Occupation: 27, CAD DesignerEngagement Date: July 31, 2008Wedding Date: May, 2009Blogging Since: October 16, 2008Venue: Our home and the two acres it sits onAbout Me: I’m an emotional girl who loves sentimental things, parenthetical asides, and trying to do things herself. I can cook, sew, am a whiz at planning, terrible at delegating, and totally in love with my fiancé (who will be my second husband but first love of the rest of my life). For our home/ garden/ DIY wedding, we’ll be moonlighting as interior designers, home improvers, and gardeners with the help of our fabulous friends and neighbors. We can’t wait to be married, and are learning how fun getting married can be.
So after the last makeup trial, I decided to go back to MAC again, this time requesting eyeshadows with not a chance of red pigment in them. According to the woman at Aveda, many women have reactions to red pigments, so staying away from purple or reddish browns might help my itchy lids situation.
Again, no before pictures. Trust me, you’ll have plenty of opportunity to gasp and point and laugh when you see these. Note: when you go in for a makeup trial, WEAR WHITE! I know, duh, right? First I wore hot pink, then I wore blue… as Meatball would say, “No bueno.”
Meh. Not bad, not great. Cheeks are a little, “Hi, how are ya?” Eyes are slightly, “Helloooo there.” Oh, yea, and that pimple on my chin says, “AREN’T YOU OLD ENOUGH TO KNOW NOT TO PICK AT YOUR FACE?” (The answer is obvious, no?) Read more…
Mrs. Taffy, Ann ArborAge and Occupation: 28, Color and Materials DesignerFiance's Age and Occupation: 29, Automotive DesignerEngagement Date: May 9, 2008Wedding Date: May 2009Blogging Since: September 14, 2008Venue: University of Michigan UnionAbout Me: I’m a girl who is crazy about Mr. Taffy, sewing, dancing, almost all types of sweets, and our cute pet canaries. I dislike touching fuzzy fabric of any kind, eating somewhat squishy food, and Michigan winters. Mr. Taffy and I are having a blast planning our Ann Arbor wedding, and cannot wait to share our day with friends and family.
The night before Valentine’s Day, Mr. Taffy and I started hunting for our cake topper. We love Ann Wood’s work, but we couldn’t fit those birds into our budget, even if she had cute canaries for sale. More than birds, we really wanted a vintage bride and groom, and found this one on ebay. It just came this weekend, and we are very happy with it! It’s not only cute, but a green and economical choice as well. Here is the link, as the ebay seller had more than one topper for sale, along with an inexpensive “buy it now” option, so you don’t have to go through the bidding process.
The dress is huge and hilarious. It is so big, there’s a hole in the side that the groom fits through! Can you imagine if real wedding dresses had that feature? It’s like a groom trap! Read more…
Mrs. Stiletto, ChicagoAge and Occupation: 26, Non-Profit/FundraisingFiance's Age and Occupation: 26, Engineer and PhotographerEngagement Date: March 2, 2008Wedding Date: September 2009Venue: The 19th Century ClubAbout Me: My fiance and I love living in the city of Chicago with our cats Basil and Linus, and vow to never move to the suburbs if we can possibly avoid it! We’ve poured ourselves into planning a wedding that reflects our personal style - modern and high contrast with a vintage twist. Blogging keeps me creative, baking keeps me happy, and grande nonfat no foam sugar free vanilla lattes keep me sane.
To continue with my inability to remain patient, I’ve been looking at bridal hairstyles. In my defense, there are crystal hair pins that I’ve been debating buying on Etsy (as I buy as many things in advance as I can), so of course if I’m thinking about hair bling, I must think about hairstyle.
I thought I wanted to do something somewhat loose and romantic for my hair. Definitely an “updo” but one that is a little bit lower on my head. I don’t want to hook my veil under my hair and have it fall in a straight line down my neck, so with a low updo, it will be easy to hook the veil above my hair, without it being obtrusive. Read more…
Mrs. Duckling, San DiegoAge and Occupation: 23, Psychology Grad Student, Youth Diversion Specialist/Marriage and Family Therapy Trainee and an Executive AssistantFiance's Age and Occupation: 25, Marketing and PR CoordinatorEngagement Date: May 17, 2008Wedding Date: September 2009Venue: Rancho Bernardo InnAbout Me: I'm currently living in Orange County, but planning our wedding in my hometown of San Diego. We are a DIY wedding "2fer", as I'm the crafty one and Mr. Ducky is in charge of all of our graphic design and technical aspects. When not wedding planning or reading wedding blogs, I'm attending grad school and rotating between two different jobs to keep things exciting. My favorite things include shoes, Post-Its, Labrador Retrievers, traveling, psychology, delicious food, photography, reading, craft gadgets/supplies, and of course, my wonderful Mr. Ducky!
Lately I’ve been thinking and dreaming about our honeymoon. As much as I love wedding planning and all the fun details, I have really begun to look forward to the day after the wedding when we leave for the honeymoon. I can’t wait to get away with Mr. Ducky and just have time to ourselves. I look forward to a break when I don’t have a pile of to-do lists, no textbooks, no deadlines, no meetings, and can just focus on having a good time.
On the nights that I get home early, Mr. Ducky and I have been huddling over my computer and letting our minds daydream about where we will be jetting off to after the wedding. I love traveling, and just about everything has looked amazing in one way or another. Since we are having a September wedding, it will be hurricane season in a few of the honeymoon hotspots. Some of our other ideas have been out of budget for what we are planning to spend, just looking at airfare alone. I absolutely love Europe (especially in fall), but the more we think about it, we are hoping for something a little more relaxing instead of trying to hit every museum, cathedral and destination spot in a short time span.
What we keep coming back to is Hawaii, more specifically, Kauai. We went to Kauai a couple of years ago with my family and had an amazing time. We loved the lush and tropical environment. Kauai seems to be a little more low-key than the other islands because there isn’t a major city. We stayed on the North Shore in Hanalei Bay last time and felt like we fell into pace with the low-key local life. The island is just beautiful, and each area of the island seems to reveal a new breathtaking view or inspiring sanctuary. There are lots of beaches to relax and rest on, but also some great excursions like the Na Pali Coast, horseback riding to waterfalls, and snorkeling. We are thinking of maybe trying to go to two islands, but I’m not sure which one we’d choose in addition to Kauai. Read more…

I love living with Mr. Peep and our animals: Huck the Dog and Ferris the Cat. I work to save the environment in San Francisco, while Mr. Peep makes ridiculously delicious Olive Oil. On any day you can find me reading the latest book I have gotten my hands on, eating Swedish Fish, and perusing wedding blogs! We are both champagne drinking foodies on a Bud Light budget. We are planning an eco-chic, intimate, and interfaith San Francisco City wedding.
Even though I am planning on wearing my Mom’s veil and my Grandmother’s brooch, I still have a couple more Something Old’s to add to the mix. The good news: they also fall under Something Borrowed and Something Blue.
Up first, my Something Borrowed. Last time Mama Peep was up visiting, she handed me a handkerchief. It was her mother’s and it’s delicate and matches the wedding colors perfectly!!

We have been hearing from so many people about our save-the-dates and I must admit it feels good to know that they appreciate all of our hard work!

I have a fear of fish and Freddy Krueger. Planning our wedding has become a huge part of my life, and I love every minute of it!
The title tells no lie; I am in fact, a veil cheater. It started off innocent, looking at pictures of other veils. I couldn’t help myself; the beautiful lace, the length, the fullness.

Living in Las Vegas has definitely been an adventure and Mr. Dumpling and I are loving every minute of it! We are planning a traditional Catholic wedding ceremony and a reception with lots of DIY! We might even get Elvis to show up! I'm a HUGE Beatles fan, love The Office and can't wait to become a Mrs.!
We have tons of things we still need to get done, and we have less than a month to go. Anyone else procrastinate like that? Am I worried though? No, not really. I usually do my best work at the last minute. Last weekend, however, I did manage to get one wedding-related task done. We now have flower girl dresses. I looked for a while and was finding them as cheap as $50, but then we added another flower girl and I just didn’t want to spend $100 of our budget on a dress that will no doubt end up dirty or ripped by the end of the night.
Here’s what I found on a random trip to Target:
It was $17.99! It’s pale pink with smocking on top with ballerina tulle on the bottom. SO CUTE!
