Still Motion TTD!

March 2nd, 2009 @ 11:22 pm by Mrs. Bee

I’ve been a fan of Weddingbee PROS Still Motion since Mrs. Emerald first posted about them 2 years ago. And after I saw the stunning trash the dress session they did with Mrs. Milkshake, I was convinced that I absolutely needed to do a TTD session with them.

Guess what?!  We just set a tentative date in mid May! Woohoo! :D

There is so much I need to plan, and I need your help hive!

1) What should I wear?  I’d love to wear a short, vintage style dress, but I definitely don’t want to spend a lot of money on it.  I’ll probably give my dress away to a Weddingbee reader after the session!

2) What kind of shoes should I wear?

3) Should I wear a traditional veil?  A birdcage veil?  A hair accessory from Oh My Deer?

4) Should I have a bouquet?

5) Where in Manhattan should we shoot?

Mr. Bee and I have virtually no pictures together other than our wedding pictures, so we’re going to take “married pictures” and do this TTD before I get old and decrepit.  Ack I’m so excited and nervous at the same time because I hate taking pictures, and I hate being on video even more.

Please feel free to give me any suggestions you have, no matter how wacky they may be.  I want this to be super fun and creative! ;)

A TTD is so exciting! I’ve been thinking about it but I want to preserve my dress. As far as a birdcage veil or traditional veil, how about wearing something you now wish you had worn, something you didn’t wear on your wedding day. If your can’t decide, how about both, a few pictures with each. This is your opportunity to “sort of” doing it again! Best wishes and can’t wait for the photos.

Seriously Mrs. Bee…you are getting to live out my dream come true! I would love to do a TTD session, but my hubby isn’t interested at this point. And the fact that you are going to have Still Motion doing it, WOW! I’ve got no tips except I love the dress idea and I think you should do both types of veils. With the traditional veil you can do flying veil shots, and with the birdcage you can have all those sassy shots. Gosh, I’m SOOOOOO jealous, you’re one lucky lady! Oh wait, though, are you going to share any of it with us? Probably not, right, so we don’t get a peek at Mr. Bee?

PLEASE TELL THEM TO COME OUT TO AUSTRALIA. My goodness, what epic cinematography. You are disgustingly lucky!

I can’t wait to see the pictures!
UniqueVintage.com has a TON of vintage style/reproduction dresses and they are cheap but good quality. I bought my wedding dress there!

Wow!! I thought StillMotion was booked through 2010…

I would recommend some CUTE flashy shoes (since you want a short dress). I always love bright shoes in a TTD shoot! Practice your facial expressions in the mirror…when I think I’m giving my “sexy” look I’m actually giving my “I drank way too much and I’m totally hungover” face. LOL!

Have some props! A parasol is always cute.

Don’t be afraid to look awkward, they’ll fix it if you do!

I think the hardest thing is to get MrBee to let loose. For some reason men always stiffen in front of the camera.

You should go to Nathans in Coney Island and do the boardwalk thing, Chinatown, Times Square and the flea market in Hell’s Kitchen - that’s on Saturday and Sundays only.

If you want to get fancy, go and do something at Tiffany’s on 5th Ave. then go to Columbus Circle. I think they have a fountain over there.

I would also suggest to wait until the weather gets better because it is f-r-e-e-z-i-n-g right now.

Mid May is beautiful, a perfect time to do a TTD session! Try Forever 21 for cute dresses that don’t cost much. And I agree, maybe you could do the birdcage and maybe a hairpiece, something different than what you had at your wedding. And I’ve never been to NY so no suggestions there. Can’t wait to see these pics!!

(won’t you trash your dress too much to give it away?)

I think a short vintage dress with an “oh my deer” hairpiece would be perfect.

Here’s the biggest question, Bee…will you share this with us after the big shoot?!

@MightySapphire: they’re actually going to be in town for another event, so they’re squeezing me in.

mr. bee will still stay anonymous, but we’ll figure something out. :)

I believe StillMotion is going to be in Australia teaching some classes. Check out their site and click on “education”. Looks like they will be there for most of February 2010.

How fun Mrs. Bee! I am so excited for you!! Seriously get a veil a birdcage a hair piece and then decide what you want to wear after because seriously all the brides in classifieds will buy what you wore on your ttd session! For location what about a couple spots you and Mr. Bee go to sometimes like the wine bar you had your first date? Or around your neighborhood you live or go to china town at night, when they streets are lit from the store signs my friends did this and it was so dramatic, like Kar Wai Wong -In the mood for Love- ooh that would be hot!

I think a short, flirty dress with a non-traditional headpiece (birdcage veil or hair flower, maybe?) and no bouquet would be cute. :)

Fun! I love the idea of a long, flowy gown for a TTD…they seem to make for great pictures. But short & vintage with a birdcage veil would also be HOT :)
