Just So You Know…

March 3rd, 2009 @ 11:55 am by Mrs. D'orsay

Knowing is half the battle, right? I was checking out the KitchenAid hand mixer, and in an Amazon review (I am addicted to Amazon reviews), someone mentioned that if you register for/buy any KitchenAid Cook for the Cure items, you need to enter your product’s information at www.cookforthecure.com in order to generate the donation from KitchenAid to breast cancer research. I also checked it out at Bed Bath and Beyond. Apparently donations aren’t automatic. I always assumed they were, but I suppose they aren’t.

Please keep it in mind if you’ve received or purchased any Cook for the Cure products. The fight against breast cancer needs all the help it can get!

that disgusts me. Seriously?!?! Who would even KNOW to have to register it in order for the donation to be made? That is so ridiculous!!!! I bet HUNDREDS and even THOUSANDS of people by those types of items and think they are doing something good, when in fact nothing had been done.

Why do they have to make it so difficult?

and p.s. thanks for spreading the word on this- i really had no idea

Thanks for the heads up Miss D, I also thought this was automatic. You would think they would let you know when your ordering it that its not automatic…

WOW. I had no idea that the donations weren’t automatic. I know its probably in the *fine print* somewhere, but that is a little disappointing to me.
Thanks for sharing and hopefully we can spread the word so that the cause really does get the donations!

That stinks that they make you register like that! But it’s for a good cause, so…

Thanks for the tip! This would be a perfect note to include on your registry page of your wedding website if you’re registering for lots of Cure products!

Good info. I had no idea about this, so I’ll be sure to register if I get any of the Cure products at my shower.

I can’t believe the donations aren’t automatic. That really makes my blood boil…why do they have to make it so hard to do GOOD things?! Sigh.
