Got a Tall Groomie…

March 4th, 2009 @ 3:08 pm by Mrs. Glitter

… and an uncanny sense of balance? Check out the bridal collection at Steve Madden for some killer (and affordable) wedding day shoes. Mr. G is only 3 inches taller than me, so the 4+ inch heels would make me beastly compared to him. Not to mention, I’d probably fall and break my ankle before the ceremony. But for my brave, heel-loving friends, check out the following:

These are on sale for $69.95. (They also come in black and gold!)

These are available in white, too. They are $89.95 and only for those who can rock a 4.25 inch heel! Wowsa. (It kinda looks like an elevated version of a J.Crew shoe, no?)

These cuties are available in several different colors and are on sale for $49.99. They are practically flats compared to the others! (They only have a 3-inch heel.)

All of these shoes are available at stevemadden.com under “Bridal Collection”. Not interested? Maybe your bridesmaids might be. Check out their website for more details.

What’s your source for sky-high bridal shoes?

The gold shoes are beautiful — so classy. But that heel would KILL me. Also, my groom is about an inch taller than me, so I’ll be wearing ballet flats. (Shout out to Miss. Ballet Flat!)

I love the first pair!!! I haven’t been looking for shoes yet. I like some of the jimmy choo pairs, but they’re just too expensive. So I must keep on looking

This has been my recent obsession…shoes….I actually spend hours on zappos looking for shoes….I went into my cloest and found my most comfortable heels and measured the heel to see just how high I can go and be comfortable…. 3″ So thats my max. My FH would perfer no heels because he loves the fact that he is a foot taller than me.

So pretty! I wore the first pair in ‘taupe’ for new years this past year - not the most comfortable shoes out there but make your feet and legs look GREAT! :)

I ordered the jcrew tabitha tstraps last week, when they were having the 20% additional discount on sale items. They should be arriving any day now, can’t waittt. They were $325.00 original down to something like $89.99 on sale, + %20 off. With shipping to Canada & tax, they came to around $90.00. I was happy with that, for $325.00 originally-priced, made in Italy shoes. Woo hoo. Gonna dye them after the wedding to justify that much $$$ being spent on shoes I can *only wear once.*

Those are all pretty. My groom is really tall, but I don’t think I can do heels on the wedding day, luckily our theme is kind of beachy, so I’m hoping to get away with wearing embellished flip flops or sandals.

I need comfort to dance!

I’m in love with the first pair! My guy is 6′5 and I’m 5′10 so I could rock a tall shoe. I just don’t want to look like a sasquatch couple!

I love his junior line, Madden Girl. They have the kitten heel, which I love. I buy mine on Amazon, and never pay more than $50 for each pair!

I’m 5′4 and my fiance is 6′9. It doesn’t matter whether I wear flats or 4.5 inch heels, nothing will close that gap! I’m wearing a comfortable 2.5 inch heel.

Oh how I love shoes, until I’ve been wearing it for 10 minutes, my feet are killing me, and I fall over as my clutzy self always does. I still cant resist a tall pretty stilletto even if no one actually sees your shoes since your dress is long.

I wish that I had a groom who was much taller than me so that I could wear some amazing, staggering heels for our wedding. As it stands (no pun intended) I’m only a couple of inches shorter, and I’d rather not look taller than him in our wedding pics. So, < 3 inch heels it is. :(

@driftslikesmoke: Don’t feel bad! Mr. G is only 3 inches taller than me…and I have a huge head, so I look kinda big next to him anyway :)

Ok those shoes are gorgeous but WAY too high! I never wear heels so I’m definitely going for cute flats =)

I found my shoes on http://www.zappos.com and nordstroms. I love zappos because you can catch some great sales and you can return them for free if they don’t fit. I ordered several pairs… more like 5 or 6 ..lol

Alas, if only we weren’t the same height! I had to find very short shoes (not flats, I hate how my feet look in flats!) for the wedding. I ended up with blue kitten heels, but I wish I could go with something daring like these!

Oh, one tip if you don’t want your feet to hurt - buy some platform shoes! They immediately give you an inch so if you want to buy 4 inch heels, your feet will really only be feeling the pain of 3 inch heels by the end of the night! I love the Stuart Weitzman wedding shoes shown in the 2nd column, first row here: http://weddingfeet.com/heel-height/4-inch-and-higher
