Searching In a Field of Yellow

March 4th, 2009 @ 11:04 am by Mrs. Joey

So I’ve been searching for the perfect yellow shoe to go with my dress. Unfortunately, nothing in my price range comes in my size or is something I can walk in. All the cute shoes in yellow have 4-inch heels. I tried walking in them, and it’s just not possible. 3 inches is as high as I can go. I had just about given up when I found these saviors from J.Crew. The yellow is soooo perfect! I think Miss Peep Toe has the same pair in green.

I’m doing everything backwards. I have my dress and shoes, but I don’t have a photographer. We picked out our honeymoon destination, but haven’t thought about which hotel we’re going hold a block of rooms at for our guests.

Are you working off a set schedule, accomplishing wedding tasks in order, or are you checking off tasks in whatever order you feel like?

those are so fun (i’m also looking for a yellow pair)! altho i consider myself a sequential thinker, we’re doing things all out of wack for the wedding. i’m crossing my fingers it will all come together in the end. :)

I’ve been looking high and low for a blue pair! What a great find, Miss Joey.

While I have my checklist in a sequential order, I find myself working on the “fun” planning elements first and skipping over the ones I’m not looking forward to. I keep searching online for bridesmaid dresses, but I haven’t even ordered my dress yet. I know it’s silly so I’m trying to keep myself in order.

I’m always looking for shoes, even if that really shouldn’t be the priority! :)

LOL - I have *shoes* and don’t even have a dress yet! I bought some on uber clearance from Ann Taylor months ago because I loved them and they were SO cheap (~$34!).

Cute shoes! My planning is all over the road. It doesn’t bother me, but it drives Mr. G crazy!! I call myself a “free thinker”. He calls me disorganized. Oh well! :)

I am a very organized person when it comes to paperwork but as far as doing wedding things in a certain order …YEAH RIGHT! what ever I think of at the moment is done. I just go with the flow and when I check in with my DOC she runs through a check list with me.

I love, love, love those shoes. Beautiful.

For anyone else looking for yellow shoes… I found a beautiful pair of Nicole Miller peep-toe platforms for less than $40 at DSW (they’re on the clearance rack in Philly and there’s all sorts of sizes). Let me know if anyone needs help in the shoe dept because my obsession is borderline disgusting. :-)

Love the yellow shoes! :) And yeah I’m all over the place, I have a dress (that’s been altered) and shoes but no real time line for the church and I’ve made programs but not invites yet…

@domesticandfabulous: Those are too cute but too high for me. I need a second pair of yellow shoes but flats.

i have a list that is organized chronologically, and i totally intended to abide by it…but that didn’t happen. as long as i’m within the guidelines, i feel like i’m ok.

I’m one of those girls who’s been secretly planning for forever, but when it came time to make those dreams a reality I’ve followed my own timeline.

The first thing I did was book the hotel rooms because it was an easy decsion for us, dress, and one of the last things I did was book the photographer. Go with your own flow!

I’m like you! I do everything out of order. I like to think about the details and plan those, but we still don’t have a reception venue!! Go figure. :/

@Cole: I think they were from last year but you may be able to find them on ebay or in a J.Crew outlet store.

i also got my dress after many other ‘vital’ things like photographer and venue!

I made the biggest list known to man and started with booking the vendors and then jumped all over the place for the rest of the little things - shoes, earrings, underwear. I still need to find a cute clutch. I dont think your order of planning matters…as long as it gets done!

Love the yellow shoes!

I have been trying to follow this timeline on the knot and other sites. My tasks just seem to be getting done. I may make a list this month because I have alot of DIY projects to start.

I waited too long on a super cute pair of vintage yellow shoes on etsy…so now I don’t know what I’m going to do but I definitely want a golden yellow! And I was stressing about a schedule but now I’m really laid back, and a lot of that is because the fiance and I have been changing our minds about everything… and I don’t feel like I need to worry about a set timeline. My dress is ordered and that’s the only REALLY important part to me, since they take forever to come in.
