Sure, I’m marrying my best friend. It’s a beautiful day… blah blah blah. But let’s get real: the reason to get married is to have a tasting. You know my motto: food before dude.
And oh is there going to be some delicious food that evening…
Bundle of Italian spicy greens with grilled artichokes, goat cheese crostini, a truffle vinaigrette.
Filet mignon with chanterelle mushrooms, truffle mashed potatoes, garlic chives, and pinot noir reduction. Truffle. Mashed. Potatoes. Le sigh.
Sake marinated black cod with wasabi whipped potatoes, Chinese long beans, and ginger jus. Me so hungry.
Wild mushroom ravioli with basil cream sauce. It’s possible that I licked the sauce off the plate. I’m no lady.
The white gloves totally came off when the desserts came out. We’re doing a dessert buffet, and I asked our coordinator whether the chef would be able to put a few of our favorites on the table. He totally brought on the awesome:
Cheesecake skewers dipped in chocolate. While anything on a stick is guaranteed to be delish, there was a bit too much delish here. We asked the chef to miniaturize this man-size dessert into easier-to-handle cheesecake lollipops.
Warm bread pudding with chocolate sauce. Da bomb.
Mango with sticky rice. Oh ma gawd. Do you see the pearl dust?!
S’mores shot. S’mores? Mores, please.
Okay, I’m off to lick the screen now.

I am drooling! I have too many favorite deesserts! We are doing the cake and chocolate covered strawberries for dessert. I don’t like chocolate covered strawberries, but I think my guests will.
okay. i need to know what is in a s’mores shot, and if can be an alcoholic drink. stat.

@Nicole: LOL. No alcohol. Just dark chocolate mouse, graham cracker sprinkles, and brulee’d marshmallows. But follow that with a shot of Godiva liquer, and it’s an orgy.
WOW. I have reception food envy. Anything involving truffles is tops in my book.

Ummm, I’ll take the cheesecake skewers and Mr. G would be all over that mango sticky rice. He perked up big time when I told him about all the food at the HC wedding! Amazing!!
it all sounds spectacular. of course i love the black cod and the salad, but the filet mignon and the desserts are attracting my attention way more than meat or sweets usually do.

Everything looks so good! I don’t really have a favorite dessert, ok maybe pecan pie, I don’t have a sweet tooth but I LOVE cheese, we must have some goat cheese. The problem is we don’t have the venue’s new menu yet so we can’t make our selection. Less than 4 months to go - they need to get a move on it!
That food looks AMAZING. I’m going to have to go cook dinner now. Thank you.
