Love Again: Portraits

This post could be alternately titled “The Pineapples Publicly Display Affection”. Mellon Park is a popular spot for skateboarding teens and pooping pigeons. Luckily, I think we managed to scare off both. We did have a small audience of on-lookers, one of whom said to her husband, “Look at those beautiful flowers!” She must have been wondering how we managed to get peonies in October.

Here is a little bit of proof that your bridesmaids don’t have to wear the same thing to look stunning. I purchased the shawls at H&M for $9 apiece, which was a pretty sweet deal. I chose the colors based on what I thought each girl would like the most. I had pretty much thrown the “wedding colors” concept out then window by that point.

Here at the boys all wearing different gray suits and ties we gave to them that sort of matched.

All of the groomsmen have jobs that already required suits, except for Mike (aka our free-j). Luckily, since he is an actor, he was able to rent his suit from a costume shop. Talk about using your resources wisely.

I am not sure what the concrete stage thing we are standing on was originally intended for, but it was a great spot for our photos.

Have you noticed how we are on the verge of laughter in many of the photos? Well, Mr. Pineapple kept burping and blowing in my face. Aww, memories.

This is one of my favorite photos from the day. I’m not normally a fan of the tilt/wacky angle, but this one is an exception.

There is that sun again! Wow, I really cannot wait for spring!

Time to head back to the River’s Club, pluck some fall leaves out of my crinoline, reapply a little lipstick, and get hitched (again)!

Are you planning to have portraits taken at your ceremony site or somewhere else?

I LOVE the pop of color that each shawl bring to the bridesmaid dresses. So chic!

Hehe, I love that your clay flowers faked someone out who thought they were real!

The BM wraps look great — jewel tones are such a neat, different way of interpreting autumn colors. And, I’m totally a fan of your “unique angle” photos!

I love seeing the Pgh buildings in your pictures! Since we aren’t getting married in town, we decided to have our epics taken in the Burgh.

All of your bridesmaids look great with the different colors. Great pics!

I cracked up when reading about what your man was doing during the photos! Sounds like romance (or something pungent) was definitely in the air ;)

Yes! More affirmation that the bridal party does not have to match perfectly. Emailing this to Mom now!
She is a matcher and the thought of all wearing different freaks her out.

You all look beautiful, I really like the city-scape photos!

I think #5 and #9 are my favorites. I like the way the group is arranged in #5 and the sunlight/shadows in 9 are awesome!

I love the tilted shot! We’re planning on having portraits at the church, as usual, but also at the nearby “Snake Alley,” which is supposed to be the “crookedest street in the world.” It’s my hometown’s one claim to fame. :)

Our venue is not ideal for pics, so were going to the Inner Harbor and Fells Point to take pics. Any ideas of good spots would be greatly appreciated!

LOL on the burping!! That’s something I think my FI would do (he sounds like a polar bear with a rootbeer…). But your “almost cracking up” smile is beautiful!!

Beautiful! Fabulous colors with the leaves in the background. Mary did a wonderful job with the wedding photography. Thanks for sharing!
