It was that point in the evening when the reception was drawing to a close. Most of the older folks had retired for the evening, leaving us young’uns to our shenanigans and debauchery. After all, the night was still young at 10 o’clock, and we had a food and beverage minimum we had yet to meet, dang it!

Mr. Cookie and I took a moment in between dances to step outside, catch our breath, grab some water, and gaze at the stars. Isn’t the photo of the stars stunning? Our dear friend took this shot of the night sky on our wedding day. Sigh.
And speaking of stars…
At some point in the evening (I am still trying to figure out when) the wedding party sneaked off and decorated our getaway car. Now, my 2003 Toyota Echo isn’t much to look at, and my hubcap fell off during the drive up to Breckenridge, but hey, it gets amazing gas mileage! Add a “Mr. and Mrs. Cookie 4 EVA” to the side windows…
… “Just Married” to the rear windows…
… hearts to the headlights, and we had ourselves the perfect getaway car. Thanks guys!
Coming down the mountain the next morning, we got a few honks and thumbs-ups from other drivers, which made us smile and giggle.
But really, la pièce de résistance of the getaway car decoration was the confetti stars — millions and millions of confetti stars in all crevasses of our car.

Even though Mr. Cookie did an amazing job vacuuming those suckers out, we are still finding stars in the car six months later. I even found stars still stuck to my dress!
Did your wedding party decorate your getaway car? What did they do to it?
