Shawls/Scarves/Pashminas

March 11th, 2009 @ 5:54 pm by Mrs. Apple Cider

I saw this picture of pashminas in a basket, and now I must have them at the wedding. Luckily for me, I live in NYC and can get them for less than $5 each. I am only going to get around 15 total. The idea is not to have one for everyone at the wedding, but just enough for those that might need them.

Shawls/Scarves/Pashminas : wedding favors Lovelu How adorable is the label? It reads “Please take a shawl and snuggle”.

These are the colors we are going for:

Luckily, Mr. AC has a great basket (from his mom) that these would fit in. But if you have to buy baskets, these are pretty great:

My sister and MOH had a great suggestion of going to thrift stores to get cheap baskets. She recently found some for 25 cents each… big ones and small ones!

What extra amenities are you providing for your guests’ comfort during the wedding?

Hmmm…what a great idea. Our outdoor wedding is in September. And September weather in Ohio can be iffy. I was thinking of having a basket of umbrella’s in case of a few sprinkles during the ceremony. Maybe I’ll add some pashmina’s as well.

i REALLY want to do this for my guests….but the cheapest i can find online is about $8 apiece, so i’m not sure it’s worth it =(

I found some online at http://fashionunic.com/ for $3.75ea. I got 15 in dark grey, light pink, and ivory, for a total of 45. Our wedding is in October in New England in a church that dates back to 1707, and it’s been kept that way - no electricity and no heat! I want our guests to be warm! Of course, because I am prepared, we’re going to have a heat wave.

@Hayley:If you check eBay and email a seller to let them know you’d like to buy in bulk at a specific price point, many are willing to come down in price. Never hurts to ask!

That’s a great idea. Our venue is on the beach, so we are doing flip flops, but the pashminas sound great too since our weddign is on a fall night. I agree that New York is the place to go when getting pashminas, I usually end up with one or two everytime I go to visit my brother.

Oooo, I wanna be a guest at your wedding! You picked lovely colors for the pashminas — and I’m always cold. :-)

Love it!! If you aren’t in New York but know someone who is, perhaps you can bribe them to pick some up for you and send your way?

Where are you getting these for less than $5 each? They’d be perfect for my winter wedding!

@tessabella76:We’re also having an outdoor wedding and considering umbrellas, but because they provide shade.

I’ve always loved this idea, but I can’t find a good deal on them anywhere! :( Where in NY do you think you’ll find them cheap?
