I’ve shared a few of the bargains I’ve scored with the hive, but now I have a super cute one to show you. Yesterday, I took a walk on my lunch hour and stopped in at the Burlington Coat Factory downtown on 6th Avenue. As soon as you walk in, the entryway is always stocked with seasonal items. This time, spring coats and Easter dresses were hanging on the walls. My sister and I were talking about getting a flower girl dress for my adorable four-year-old niece, Aidyn only the day before this little shopping trip. So seeing the dresses reminded me to check out the rest of the dresses in the children’s department.
As soon as I went to the lower level, I saw tons of cute Easter and spring dresses. Most were pink, purple, or white with embroidered flowers. They also had a decent selection of white and ivory dresses, and I quickly scanned the racks for something that would make a perfect flower girl dress. I saw plenty of possibilities in an in-between-white-and-ivory shade, so I called my sis to confirm the size. We needed a 4, and most of the selections in the right color were size 6 or bigger, or in toddlers sizes.
After a few more minutes of searching, I found one.
It was a size 4 diamond white dress, with an organza overlay skirt and a satin bodice. I tried to find a price, but (of course) there wasn’t a tag. I asked a sales associate for help, and she said that that particular dress was one part of a two-piece set. The dress came with a matching shrug sweater.
Together, we searched for the lost sweater, but came up empty handed. The sales associate told me she was sorry and that they couldn’t sell me the dress without a tag or the other piece. When she asked me to hand her the dress, I asked to speak with the manager. She told me where to find him, so I grabbed the dress, along with the same dress in a size 6 (with sweater and price tag), and set off to find the manager. I explained to him my problem with having no tag and no sweater, and he said he would use the tag from the other dress to ring it up.
Not so fast, mister! I asked him to cut me a deal, since I was only getting a partial product. He obliged, and offered me 30% off. Woohoo! SOLD!
And here, ladies of the hive, is how cute $20.99 can look on a four-year-old:

Aidyn was fresh out of the bathtub when I stopped in for an impromptu fitting.

Work it, girl!
If you are looking for a dress for your flower girl, now is a great time to find one. With the Easter dresses in stock at all of the department stores, there are lots of options, and the prices are way better than what you’d pay at a bridal salon.
