Bouquet Charms Part II

March 13th, 2009 @ 9:34 am by Mrs. Crab Cake

A few months ago I wrote this post about my bouquet charms.

Well, I finally finished them.

I’m kind of a bad blogger and I didn’t take any pictures of the process. However, I will promise to make y’all a tutorial soon, as Mr. CC wants me to make more of them.

First, let me introduce you to the people we are honoring (these are also the pictures I used).

img037

This is Mr. CC’s Poppa. He passed in the early ’90s. Mr. CC basically grew up on this man’s lap.

scan0030

This is Mr. CC’s maternal grandmother, who he never met. Isn’t she lovely?

teresas-pics-027-2

This is Mr. CC’s Granddaddy. I had the honor of meeting this man before he passed away last May. He was a wonderful man, and we both miss him tremendously.

scan0032

Those are my maternal grandparents on their wedding day. My Grandma passed last June. She was gone a long time before that; Alzheimer’s is a terrible disease. My Grandpa will be present at our wedding.

scan0033

These are my paternal grandparents on their wedding day. Man, wasn’t my Poppa handsome? He looks so much like my Dad. Anyway, Mernie (my grandmother) also suffers from Alzheimer’s and was put in a specialized Alzheimer’s unit in November. She hasn’t recognized me in years. Poppa is going to try and make it.

I’m really pleased with how these turned out, and they were super easy to make.

My Grandma has a little bubble in her head. Oops. Anyway, I think they look great.

Tutorial coming soon!

I love this! We are doing something similar where we are going to be asking our married guests to send a copy of their favorite picture of them from their wedding day. We will be incorporating the pictures in a slide show which will be played while we invite all the couples up to dance as one of our specialty dances to honor the committment of our guests.

Ooooooh! These are beautiful!
How soon will that tutorial be coming? I want to do this, as none of my grandparents will be able to attend, but I have no idea where to start. I was going to buy the charms off of etsy, but if your tutorial is pretty easy, I might try it!!!!

Awesome! I’m planning on having one charm for my Grandma who passed a few years ago. She’s the only grandparent to pass away so far, and she really held the famil together in a lot of ways, so I know everyone will be thinking of her at the wedding. Can’t wait for your tutorial!

I cant wait to see how you made these! My FI’s parents both died unexpectedly this time last year two weeks apart and I think this would be a really nice way to remember them.
