About Mrs. Apple Cider

I made a stop at IKEA this weekend and ran into these adorable candle holders/lanterns. The picture does not do them justice. I didn’t buy them, but almost did, and still might. They are $2.99 each and would be perfect to hang on shepherds hooks.

If you are having an outdoor wedding and are planning to have shepherds hooks, I have seen some interesting ways to decorate them:

A lot of florists provide shepherds hooks, but you can find them for cheap online. Here is one resource that carries them for as cheap as $8 for 20-inch hooks.

Here is a link to a great DIY by the amazing Mrs. Cherry Pie. She went with mason jars, which I love!!! See it here: Mrs. Cherry’s Pie DIY mason jars for shepherds hooks. See her finished product here: Mrs. Cherry Pie’s kick butt shepherds hooks.

How are you lining your outdoor aisle?

I’m doing something similar to Mrs. CP for the decor leading up to the entrance of our reception hall. We have to use wire ebcause they will be filled with candles and I’m afraid the raffia will start on fire and cause the jar to come crashing down!

We’re also considering using shepherds hooks to jazz up our isle… I love the first idea, thanks :)

I made 3 pink tissue paper pomanders–1 to hang between/above us, and 2 to stake at the first and last row of seating. By summer’s end the same set of shepherd’s hooks will have appeared in all four of my married friends’ weddings!

I am lovin’ the links you provided! I too want shepherds’ hooks since I’m planing an outdoor ceremony! I want to have one shepherds’ hook w/kissing ball alternating with shepherds’ hook with lantern and a monogrammed aisle runner and of course heaps of rose petals scattered along each sides of the aisle runners!

If you are looking for Shephards’ hook check at Joanne’s. I bought 15 there last weekend while for around a bit less than $30 while they were on sale…but their coupons would make them cheap as well.

Not sure of the size, but they have Shepherds hooks at the Dollar Store, here in Sacramento, Ca! Great bargain :)

What great ideas! :) Thanks for sharing Miss Apple Cider! They finally opened an IKEA in Charlotte and I can’t wait to go spend hours looking around!

We used those lanterns at our wedding. We had a large portico with tall columns at our venue. We placed lanterns at the base of the columns and lit them up when dusk fell =)

I love the shepherd’s hook look. We got some for my friend’s wedding at Home Depot. You can get them for really cheap!

I love the pomanders best, but the bucket and lantern are really cute, too!
