It was last February and I had the day off from work. So I was cleaning the house looking all scrubby when he came home from work early. He gave me a huge hug and kiss and told me how much he loved me and how wonderful and beautiful I was. At first I thought he wanted something, like buttering me up. Then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I didn’t respond so he added in that he wasn’t kidding. I obviously said yes! It was perfect.
My fiance proposed by waking me up with breakfast in bed. As I started to eat he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I’m told I had to physically shake myself awake before I said yes.
In October my fiance flew out from Southern California to Chicago, had my grandparents take me to “dinner” and surprise proposed to me on Navy Pier. He scared me so bad I was shaking and crying, but it was the happiest day of my life! we then went on a romantic dinner cruise and started planning the rest of our lives together!
We had only been dating 27 days, but we had known each other for 5 years and had become good friends. One day he came over after work and before i even had a chance to close the door behind him, he got down on one knee. I could tell he was extra nervous. I was so anxious and couldn’t hold in my tears, I barely remember everything he said. He was afraid I would turn him down because we had only been dating such a short time. But of course I said yes.
In May of last year my fiance made me a beautiful breakfast and half-way through he proposed. It was a very low-key, special and personal moment!
He did it at home, while i was doing homework, just over a week ago! I was reading and I noticed him hovering nearby, and I said “what do you want?”
when i looked at him, he was all dressed up in a tie and everything. he got down on his knee and asked me to be his wife. awwwwww.
My Son proposed to his Fiancee at Braddock Trails when the wild Trillium were blooming in the Spring.
I came home and went to our room and there on our bed were a dozen roses, tons of candles and rose petals scattered everywhere. I then turned around and my bf was down one knee and asked me to be his wife ![]()

My fiance proposed at the Chicago Botanic Gardens, in a little english inspired garden as we were sitting on a bench taking in the gorgeous scenery.
On Wednesday, July 16, the last night of our vacation, we were spending the evening on the balcony playing a drinking card game we play all the time, just the two of us. About two drinks into the game, around midnight, I lost a hand and owed 10 drinks. He said, “ok, let me make you a deal” and moved the chair that I had my legs propped up on. I seriously thought he was going to make me do push ups instead of taking the drinks until he told me to cover my eyes. After asking if I was peeking, he got down on one knee and told me to open my eyes. When I did he had the ring box out & open. I was shocked. He said, “will you do my the honor of becoming my wife?” and I started crying and said, “of course, yes!”. I was so surprised and excited. I knew that he had asked my parents for their blessing but this was one souvenir I wasn’t expecting to come home with. He even yelled up at the people in the balcony above us announcing our engagement. It was so cute.
We didn’t have a proposal - we just decided to get married and set a date. Romantic? Now. Practical and us? Yes.
We were at the beach with his family who all knew he had the ring and were waiting for him to propose for days! One night, he and I went down to the beach at sunset with a glass of wine to relax. We were sitting on the sand chatting, when the winds changed and brought the biting flies! I lasted only a couple of minute with the flies before I got up and went to the water’s edge. He asked me to come back (because he was waiting for the moment to propose) and stubborn me refused and couldn’t understand why he was still sitting there! Finally, he realized the moment was in front of him so he walked over to me, got down on one knee and asked me to marry him!
October 30th 2007 was the day that my FH decided to ask me to be his life partner, best friend and his wife. The night unfolded with a romantic dinner at one of my favorite restaurants.. Love was definitely in the air, and when the waiter brought out a tray full of red rose petals and a statue of an Eiffel Tower. My FH kept me guessing with a game of ‘fortune’ and of course the end result was a spectacular engagement ring. It was everything Iimagined and much much more. The night didn’t end there; the Mr. had one more surprise arranged for me. One by one our families walked into the restaurant and they all enjoyed an unforgettable meal together!
he took me to a park in brooklyn, nyc and handed me an envelope with a picture of a $19.95 ring, told me he wants me to marry him, but the ring didnt come in time for the proposal. i looked at him like he was crazy and say… “err, i dont want my finger to turn blue from the ring. so i’ll say yes when you get me something real.” he looked at me with his boyish smile and say gotcha. pulled me to a benched and handed me a hand written poem, with the real ring.
my fiancee took me to NYC for our anniversary, and threw me off a few times to the point where I had relaxing and forgotten all about our anniversary and the hope that we would get engaged on this trip. We went to dinner one night at one of our fav. spots, and got down on one knee right when our families walked through the door, shocking me to death! We all had dinner together and it was just the best day ![]()
My fiance flew to visit me for my belated-birthday weekend. The morning after he arrived, after what seemed like a normal routine of breakfast and getting ready to go out for the day, we went for a walk around the woods “loop” behind my parents’ house where I walk my dog. At the end of the loop he put his arm around me, turned me towards him, got down on one knee and started, “all right….”
There was a “will you marry me?” and a “yes” in there, but it’s all such a blur! We’re going to be married at my parents’ house, which made his engagement location choice is extra special ![]()
it was a Thursday night in June we had been dating for awhile and had moved in together about 2 months earlier.. It was a stressful day and i was very exhausted so when BF got home from work he cooked me dinner and offered me a massage.. As he put lotion on and massaged me he talked to me in a french accent (( he’s famous for his impersonations..)) Not thinking anything of it he asked me to remove my rings so he could lotion my hands.. i did and after the massage as i turned around to ask for my rings back he pulled out the engagment ring from his pocket asked if i’d be his forever girl and proposed! :]
He took to a fancy dinner at the Top of the Hub (in Boston) and I thought for sure he would do it there. When dinner and dessert passed with no proposal, I thought that was it. On the way back to the T he detoured us around the reflecting pool of the CS Center. Then, in one of the nooks, beside the pool, he proposed.
I’m glad he didn’t do it in the restaurant because I had serious Ugly Cry Face. It took me about 45min to compose myself enough to get on the T and head home.
We were moving to California (from the East coast) so I could attend grad school. Instead of flying cross country, we decided to have a fun road trip. Along the way we stopped to visit friends and family, as well as see some of the sights. One of the stops was Glacier National Park in Montana. The first day we were there we went on a day hike over the continental divide, and down to Hidden Lake. At the lake there were only 2 other people there fishing, and some mountain goats. After a quiet picnic lunch, he stood up, dug the ring box out of his backpack. I couldn’t believe it!
I love taking pictures, especially of flower gardens. So on a beautiful June afternoon he called to say that new lilies had opened up in one of his mom’s flower gardens. He said the colors were so vivid that I wouldn’t want to miss getting these blooms under my lens. So I headed over, spotted the newly open flowers and got to work! The ring was tied into the middle of one of the largest flowers. I didn’t even notice it until my lens brought it into focus! By that time, he was down on one knee. It was perfect…so are the pictures : )
The fiance and I share the same birthday. This past year we went to Vegas to celebrate. The night of our b-day we were hanging out in the hotel room getting rested up before our dinner reservation. We were just laying on the bed when he popped up and said he had to get something from the safe. He came back and flopped back down on the bed with a ring box in his hand and popped the question. Most memorable birthday ever!!!!!!
My fiance proposed on top of Hidden Peak in Snowbird, Utah. We took a tram to the top of the mountain and he got down on one knee ![]()
There was a sandy beach and fireworks! haha My FI proposed our 2nd night of vacation at Nauset Beach in Cape Cod at sunset. He wanted to take a walk, I didn’t but I humored him! Best fib ever! hahaha I kept thinking “he’s gonna ask, no he’s not, maybe…” and then he did! I got all weepy and said “About time!” LOL We had been together for 7 years and 4 days at that point and I’d been joking with him that he’d never propose even though I knew he would eventually!
He took us back to the spot where he had first told me that he loved me almost six years prior! After I said yes we celebrated with champagne and a beautiful sunset ![]()
I had become the annoying girlfriend who nagged about getting married. I was saying, “what are you waiting for?!” and he was saying, “I’m just not 100% ready”. I was tired of fighting about it and had kind of given up and knew it would happen when it happened. We were getting ready for our trip home for Christmas of 2007 and I was waiting for him to go and fill up the car with gas before we could leave. When he got home, he said that he had a present for me. I told him that it wasn’t Christmas yet, so I shouldn’t be able to open presents. He told me “You’re opening the present now or you’re not getting it!!” He had put the ring box in a random gift box that my grandma had given me, and it smelled, so I thought that he had gotten me a nice candle like we had gotten his mom and sister. I was thinking, “why the heck is a candle so important that I open it now?!” As I dug deeper in the tissue paper, I saw that it was a jewelry box. Not thinking that it could be a ring, I thought that he had gotten me earrings. Then I was kind of mad because why the heck would he be getting me any jewelry unless it was the one piece that I wanted! As I opened the box, I was in disbelief! He had picked the most beautiful ring all by himself out of no where. Sadly I have no idea what the heck he said as he was down on his knee, but all I remember doing is screaming “WHAT!?” and “ARE YOU SURE?!” I then got to ride home with my new fiancé and ogle my ring. Best Christmas present ever!
On October 13th, 2008 the love of my life asked me to go to the Maine Coast on a romantic over night at a bed and breakfast that i thought would be a good location to have our wedding…I knew that he and i were going to get married, the question was, when will he ever ask me? I suggested going to see this place as a step in the right direction to getting married…we both knew we had to get married before the new school year started in September…i wanted to get a jump start on location, location, location…summer weddings in maine - venues close up quick! So, when he asked me to go to this certain coastal location, i didn’t think anything of it then an opportunity to check it out!! Once we got there, we checked in and decided to go for a walk around the sleepy town…we went to the light house and braved the rocky coast line and walked down to the water…he kept saying..”is this romantic?” “is this romantic?” i told him to knock it off and enjoy the salty air!! next thing i knew, i turned around and he was on his knee and asked me if i would spend the rest of my life with him!! I of course said yes…..
I had been away on a business trip for a week and was scheduled to arrive home on Friday, June 13th. Unfortunately, I got stuck in the Chicago airport for almost 24 hours before I finally made it home on Saturday afternoon. Upon finally arriving home, I called my boyfiend to ask him to come down and carry my bags up to the apartment, but he said he would do it later. I was a little irked that he was not more willing to help, but was just happy to finally be home! I had, after all, been stuck in the airport for 24 hours and really just wanted a hot shower and to go to bed! My boyfriend however had different plans. Unbeknownst to me, he had been patiently waiting at home to pop the question as soon as I walked through the door! My mood quickly brightened the second I opened the front door to find the apartment lit up with candles and covered in rose petals leading me into the dining room where my boyfriend used pictures of the two of us together throughout the years to write out “Will U Marry Me” on the floor. My boyfriend emerged wearing a suit and tie, dropped down on one knee and simply said “Sweetie, will you marry me?” I was completely shocked but managed to mutter out an enthusiastic “YES, OF COURSE!!!”
My fiance proposed to me on the beach at sunset. he had a whole team set up a picnic and a bonfire to surprise me. we roasted marshmellows and had smores! we also went to a lovely dinner at night. Then the next day, he surprised me with a spa appointment.
It was Thanksgiving morning of 2008…my fiance was supposed to pick me up to go to his dad’s football game (his dad coaches high school football) and he came into my room 45 minutes early…so I yelled at him to go back upstairs because I wasn’t ready…he came back down about 15 minutes later and just as I was about to tell him that I still wasn’t ready…he said he really needed to talk to me and proceeded to get down on one knee and propose! It was perfect and I felt really bad for yelling at him the first time!
long time reader, but not yet engaged, but it’s going to be a surprise!
I was picking him up from our place after work so we could head to a concert. He told me to come up before we left, so I ran up not sure why he wasn’t meeting me downstairs.
When I got upstairs, all of my stuffed animals (and i have a TON) were on the couch, facing the same direction. I was confused and intrigued and he said, “I have a surprise for you.” I looked at the TV, since that’s the direction they were facing, and asked what was up. He said the surprise was behind the couch.
I looked and saw a Build-A-Bear box. I opened it to discover a topaz bear (my birthstone) we had seen not too long before. She was dressed kinda like me, and is so cute! I hugged and thanked him, but he said that the real surprise was in her pocket. I looked at her pants, and saw that she had tiny little cargo pockets. I immediately knew, and started to freak a little bit. I took the ring out of her pocket and he took the bear and the ring, got down on one knee and said, “Will you marry us?”
Extra cute — Build-A-Bear’s come with a birth certificate, so you have to name them when you make them. He named her Hope, because it was his hope that she would help us start a new chapter in our lives together.
i love to tell this story! it was christmas day 2007. i arrived it his house, my few presents in tow, and i saw the array of gifts in front of the christmas tree. i was immediately upset because he outdid me by a long shot. he reassured me i wouldn’t be upset for long, and had me begin opening my presents. in each box there was piece of paper that told me either how much he loves me or a reason why he loves me. in addition, each piece of paper said “open the next box…” on the bottom. when i opened the last box, and saw that it too said “open the next box…” i was confused. he said, “oh wait.. i think there’s one more i forgot to put out here.” he turned around, reached in his stocking and pulled out that little, white, magical box! we both cried as he asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. of course, i said yes. it could not have been more perfect–it was magical!
My fiance proposed on the 4th of July with a sparkler and then MY sparkler. Although we were in the company of about 20 of our closest family and friends, he came up to me discretely. It was only after I started screaming that everyone turned to see what was going on. It wasn’t how I always pictured his proposal would be, but it was just perfect anyway!
He proposed first thing in the morning over breakfast so I wouldn’t be suspicious and so we would have the whole day to celebrate. He then took me out to dinner and the theatre.
My fiancé is an artist who favors jeans and tee shirts to work in while I’m usually in suits and heels for my work attire. There, I’m known as the binder goddess who is always in the know and can turn a paperwork mess into an organized file system, complete with color-coded tabs! Unfortunately, I cannot wrestle my own jewelry collection into any semblance of order, especially my earrings. Depending on the day, some are on my nightstand, by the kitchen sink, on my fiancé’s coffee table, on his bathroom counter, or in my car ashtray. When I dropped by his house a few days before Christmas in my jeans, Wonder Woman tank top, and grubby sweatshirt I was greeted by a lit fireplace, decorated tree, and a freshly groomed man in an ironed button-down shirt. My, how the tables had turned! I was convinced by the handsome gentlemen to open an early Christmas gift–a jewelry organizer. I thought that I must have really annoyed this poor man who isn’t known for being particularly orderly himself… As I unrolled the jewelry pouch, I discovered a ring sparkling inside! That was when he knelt beside me and asked if instead of Ms. G, I’d consider becoming Mrs. P. Of course I said “yes!”
He flew me to Paris, proposed on a bridge overlooking Notre Dame late in the afternoon after a long walk through Paris, then on to a extended dinner. It was perfect.
We went on vacation with my family to Hawaii. We were there for 7 days and I was hoping that he’d ask me in the beginning of the trip so we could spend our vacation celebrating. But of course the doofus waited until the VERY last night we were there. Nope, not on the beach but on our condo balcony.
My fiance and I had a long distance relationship for much of our relationship. I lived in CA he lived in TX after getting out of the marines. We hadnt seen eachother in a few months and we had planned to go on a cruise with my friend and her Boyfriend. I fly to houston to meet him and he tells me he has a present for me. I ask for it, he says not yet. So we get on the plane and head to FL to meet my friend. I ask if Ican have it again, he says no. We go through customs and the checking in process, make it into our room and he says Ican have my present. He pull sout a bag with tissue paper.. which is a big deal considering he never wraps present. Inside the bag is a box, inside that box is a smaller box, this goes on for a bit till i get down to a little purple velvet box.. inside is a beauiful ring. He asked, I said yes and we celebrated our engagement the entire cruise. It was perfect.
My fiance proposed on New Years Eve 2007-08 as the ball dropped. He asked me my resolutions, and told me his:
“To exercise more, eat less junk food, and to ask you to become my wife.” He got down on one knee and pulled the ring box out from the couch cushions. Ten minutes later after I finished crying and squealing, I said yes!!!
He told me we were celebrating our anniversary and took me to lunch at the restaurant where we had our first date. Then he suggested a walk through our campus, which we had also done on our first date. Our walk led us to a beautiful picnic spot complete with table, flowers, and wine. It was perfect!
We had to move apart only three-four months into dating because we graduated from our respective programs and had committed to moving. He moved to Cleveland and I moved to New Orleans. Aside from being long distance for 3 years, Hurricane Katrina also threw a new dimension into it but we grew stronger and developed as individuals, while also growing in our relationship together.
My favorite holiday is Christmas and I love Disney. Every year, my Dad and I go to Disney World around Christmas to see the decorations and musical performances. December 26th 2007, he joined us, but he had a little surprise in mind. He usually works the week of Christmas and I am with my family, so this was extra special already. Unknowing to Christine, Sean walked around the park all day with the ring in his pocket. We entered the France area of Epcot around sunset (as he had planned), and after enjoying delicious desserts and posing for a family photo, he announced, “Now it’s time for your present.” He walked her over to a caricaturist stand. Confused I asked “Where’s my present?” He pointed to a caricature in the display case that he had arranged with an artist in advance to be completed and displayed that day. In the caricature, he was down on one knee handing a diamond ring to me with the words, “XXX, will you marry me?” written over their heads. As soon as she recognized the dress in the picture (as Maid of Honor in a friend’s wedding where she had caught the bouquet) and read the words, she burst into tears and covered her mouth. He got down on one knee and removed the ring from his pocket and to think he had almost missed his plane that morning ![]()
After taking taking me to do all our favorite things (we went to Napa with our dog for a wk, we went to the LA Philharmonic for a concert, we ate at the restaurant we had our first date near the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion… he even bought me the first edition of the Princess Bride!) we had just returned from celebrating my mom’s birthday. I was getting ready for bed, in my pj’s… when he said ‘wasn’t this a great wk? we did all our fav things!’ I said “Mmm-hmmm, and look it’s 12:34AM!” (It feel like I always look at the clock when it happens to be 12:34) and he said “how lucky do you think you are then? What if I proposed?” And I said “Honey- that isn’t nice to tease- if you had the ring you would have proposed in Napa right?” -But he hadn’t in Napa because there was a heat wave, we nearly got into a car accident- & he claims the ‘karma’ wasn’t right… So here we are in our pj’s when he says “well do you want me to propose to you?” And I said ‘I do, but I know you don’t have the ring!!! It’s not right to tease!’ -and then… he says…. ‘What ring… THIS RING?!’ and brought it out! And he proposed while we were in our pj’s… nestled together! It’s funny, & lame- but oh so us at the same time! =o)
my fiance chose the day I was the most stressed and so pooped that i didn’t want to get up from the couch in order to totally shock me. he set up an umbrella and a card with shells on it (that our dog helped choose
)on the beach where we watch the sun set, and when he brought me out i was so out of it i thought he was doing something sweet b/c of all of the stress i had at work. He said i could read the card later as i was getting choked up over the romantic set up and just to read what was inside, which said “flbeachbride, just look under the sand…” and there was a little shovel. I remember digging with my hands shaking and in absolute disbelief that this was THE moment, and once I saw the bag I took the ring box out and for a brief second thought that maybe there was earrings in the box (?!?) I was shaking so badly. As soon as I opened it there was the most beautiful ring and he asked me to marry him right as the sun was touching down on the water. before we had gone outside he said he forgot his sunglasses and was really setting up the champagne we had bought with some glasses to toast once we got inside. I am the luckiest girl in the world and am still just so completely shocked at how i had no clue to this day!!
We had finally gotten a babysitter for the first time since our son was born so Mr. M took me to a sweet little place in the Poconos. I was so exhausted from doing the “mommy” thing I ended up falling asleep. Mr. M finally woke me up around 1 a.m. and convinced me to go for a walk outside to the lake in the snow. We finally reached the snow covered lake and he bent down on one knee in the snow and after 8 years together…he proposed!
I hope this counts in the drawing, because I’m just posting a link to my blog. I still get giddy thinking about it and can’t stop looking at my ring! (The story: http://jeslynn02.blogspot.com/2009/02/im-engaged.html)
My fiance flew me to Italy (Rome and Florence)!!! When we got there, we immediately began exploring even though we’ve been up almost 24 hours straight! At the end of the first day, we were EXHAUSTED and I was ready for bed but my fiance (boyfriend at the time) insisted we go out just a little longer. I was so tired that I started getting cranky. What I didn’t know was that he was waiting until dark, when the Colosseum is lit at night. I’m so glad he was able to convince me. When we got there, he started saying all these beautiful things and then he got down on one knee and popped the question!!! It was such an amazing night.
My fiance proposed in the butterfly garden at our local zoo because it is special to us. He was sneaky enough to choose a day just before final exams when we were both scheduled to work. He secretly called us out of work and asked me to go to the zoo with him before our shifts started. We wandered around the zoo for a while and ended up in the butterfly aviary. He got down on one knee, showed me this gorgeous heirloom ring and asked me to spend my life with him. My best friend popped out of the bushes and she was clicking away. It was very sweet that he allowed her to be a part of it and we got great pictures of my reaction.

At the time we got engaged, Justin and I had been dating for almost six-and-a-half years. Many of those years we spent hundreds of miles apart and saw each other only on odd weekends. Ten months we spent on different continents. We had lived together for a over two years cumulatively, only about six months less than the total time we’ve spent living in the same city. But every summer we took a weeklong trip together to Glacier National Park in Montana.
Come 2006, people started asking why we weren’t engaged. Marriage had never been a serious concern of ours. We knew it would happen when the time was right.
The time was right on Saturday, August 26th, 2006.
We had just arrived at our campsite on the first eve of our 2-night, 3-day, 20-mile backpacking trip through the Montana Backcountry in Glacier National Park. That day, we hiked 6.5 miles from the Gunsight trailhead to Gunsight Lake.
Once at the lake, I sat down on a large rock off and skipped stones while Justin waded. It was an idyllic scene, but I hadn’t even considered a proposal. Our best friends had been engaged in Glacier two years ago. At the time, I had told Justin he’d just have to do it somewhere else. Suddenly, he was kneeling in front of me and my heart skipped a beat. He WAS going to propose!
But then, he stood up, gave me a quick kiss and waded back into the lake. I kicked myself mentally.
A few minutes later, he sat next to me and said, innocently, “I have something for you.” When I looked at him, he was holding my beautiful ring!
All I could say, considering my previous train of thought, was “WHAT?!” And then I laughed. Not very romantic, but it was hilarious.
Of course, he asked me to marry him. And, of course, I said yes.
I’ve probably mentioned the proposal story on weddingbee a handful of times now, but it never gets old to me. My fiance recreated our first date, and I was clueless about the whole thing. I was still in school and didn’t expect a proposal for another year or so, even though we’ve been together for almost three years at the time. He made it appear as if I had chosen the restaurant (he only requested to each sushi, and I was in the mood for the restaurant of our first date apparently). I side tracked him for a bit, wanting to make a pit stop at Costco. Afterwards he brought me to Old New Castle, continuing on the recreation of our first date. He proposed on the dock, and I was oblivious to what was happening. I can’t exactly recall what he said, but I do remember that I thought the ring was fake and a total joke (there was an led light shining on the ring). It was perfect.
The video camera couldn’t come at a better time. I’ve been considering getting one as of late, but I can’t decide on which one.
We were in France visiting my family and had to go spend a few days in Paris to renew my visa. My wonderful fiancé proposed at midnight in the Trocadero garden while the Eiffel Tower was sparkling (it lights up every hour, so pretty!)
Apparently I didn’t say yes right away, but something like “What? Are you sure? I don’t know what to say…” I don’t really remember, I thought I did say “Yes!” ![]()
We were on vacation in Costa Rica and had decided to do a zip-line tour. At around the tenth platform, he got the guides to tether us to a tree where he proposed. Fifty feet up in the air!
My fiance is a piano player, and he composed a song, and wrote lyrics to it, and sang it to me as my proposal. I wish I had had a video camera to catch the moment!
After dating for 5 years, my fiancee and I took a trip to Europe to watch the rugby world cup! We had waited 3 hours in line to go to the top of the Eiffel Tower at night to see the Paris lights, and we almost didnt make it, before they cut the line off for the night! Well, he surprised me with a proposal on the top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris as it was all twinkling with lights! Apparently, I didnt say yes, but made happy tears and jazz hands!!
the night before our holiday party in our newly bought co-op he dropped to one knee as i was wrapping presents! we were able to share our big news the next night with friends and family in our new apartment!

My fiance knows that I love the beach, but was definitely born in the wrong state (WI is not exactly known for its beaches). I was in the harried process of moving from my apartment into his home, and had driven down a bunch of my stuff to his house that morning. I was in the process of unpacking, and he suggested we take a walk down by the lake, on the “beach” there. It was a beautiful day, so I happily accepted and dodged the task of unpacking my stuff. When we got down to the beach, he started saying all of these wonderful things, and before I knew it he was down on his knee, reaching into his pocket and pulling out my ring. I was completely suprised and happily accepted!
My fiance flew in from WI to propose to me at South Street Seaport in NYC at the bench where we sat on our first date. It was a complete surprise (he told me he was working that weekend) since my sister-in-law said we were going to a charity function. He was waiting for me in his 3-piece suit with a dozen long stem roses in 90+ degree weather. He didn’t immediately propose, but had a 15 minute conversation asking about my day. He was so nervous he called over my sister-in-law and brother to take more pictures, but they thought he had proposed and congratulated us. With his cover blown, he once again asked me about my day. I told him we already talked about my day. With that he asked me if I was sure I wanted to marry him. Still sitting on the bench, I asked him to do it the proper way. He complained that there were cigarette butts on the floor. I insisted, he obliged and the audience applauded.
We were in Mexico for a family reunion and he purposed to me at my grandfather house who I haven’t seen since I was a little girl. It was perfect and magicial because everyon was there.
CityBoy proposed in the middle of the Austin Airport at 5:30AM on our way to Detroit to visit his family. We were walking and he just stopped in the middle of the empty terminal and got down on one knee. He told me that this airport was where he realized he wanted to be with me and that he’d do anything to make that happen.
My sister won a bet on the proposal. She and my mom were betting on if he’d do it in a fancy way or just do it on a “random Tuesday”…the airport qualified as a Random Tuesday and I wouldn’t have it any other way…

It was the day after my birthday so we’d already celebrated with my friends and family, so I thought all of the fun was overwith! Sneaky as he was, Mr. S had decided to make me breakfast in bed and surprise me with the ring box wrapped up in the napkin on the tray.
He woke me up with breakfast and my favorite song at the time on the stereo…I unwrapped the ring and all of a sudden he was on one knee and I was speechless and in tears! It was such a special, private moment between the two of us, we laughed and cried and I couldn’t have asked for anything better! Now whenever I hear that special song or even eat pancakes (yum!) I think of that moment.
Last May, I was working late on a Saturday night and fiance brought me pizza and beer. He was getting ready to leave and we were in the stairwell. He just asked. I thought he was kidding, and responded with “Ha, ha, you are so funny!” but he was serious, and I pulled him up from kneeling on our dirty hallway floor. It was simple and sweet.
my fiance proposed at a lake in Bath, England. It was so romantic and beautiful. He knows I love England so I’m glad he did it there when we were on vacay.
He did a scavenger hunt (one of the clues even included my dog)! It was so sweet, quiet, and just us…my baby done good! ![]()
He secretly got a group of our closest friends together for a picnic under the Hell Gate Bridge in Astoria park, luring me to the secret meeting place under the guise of a walk through the park on the way to meet his co-workers for dinner. I didn’t realize right away that I knew the crazy group picnicking under the train tracks, but when I saw my brother and sister up front (they came all the way from TX!) it finally clicked and he got down on one knee and proposed!
We were on a 5-week road trip from Georgia to Montana and back. I knew he had the ring with him after I foiled one engagement attempt at the Missouri Botanical Gardens. I thought for sure that he would ask me at Badlands National Park at sunset, but he sensed my anticipation and opted to wait. After a frustrating day of travel and heat, he chose a campground in the Black Hills of South Dakota to ask me. I was sweaty and tired, but I was also really happy!
We were on vacation in Hawaii. After dinner, we went for a stroll on the beach. We sat down on some driftwood to talk for a long time, and he made me close my eyes for the whole conversation. Eventually, I heard him moving around to pull out the ring, and he proposed! It was really touching, because he always makes me close my eyes when he has a surprise for me, so it was very “us.”
He made a slideshow with all our pictures together and our favorite songs. The last picture was of the church where we will marry. He said he wanted to add more pictures to the slideshow, but only if I would wear this (as he pulled at the ring) and marry him!
I knew that my fiance would be proposing for a while before he did - that part definitely wasn’t a surprise! The surprise was how he did it. On Friday, he was going to come to our all-school assembly and propose in front of all of my students. However, he got caught in traffic and didn’t make it in time, so he put it off until Saturday. On Saturday, we went out for a romantic dinner at our favorite restaurant, but we had TERRIBLE service, so Steve decided to wait a little longer. On Sunday, we went to my parents’ house for Hanukkah and he was too shy to ask in front of my parents!
So, finally, on Monday we went out for dinner and rented a movie. After the movie, I went to brush my teeth and I came back to my desk to find that he had changed the screensaver on my computer to say “Will you marry me?” and he had the ring in his hand.
Of course I said yes!
My fiance had intended to propose during a Saturday kayaking trip, but I think his nervousness got the best of him so he went for it on Friday night instead. We were walking along the same Malibu beach we visited on one of our first dates (almost 6 years ago!) when he paused, dropped down on one knee and asked me to marry him. It was just perfect.
We were skiing at Park City, and although I knew he’d brought the ring with him on our ski vacation, I didn’t think he had it with him on the mountain. At the top of the hill, towards the end of the day, he pulled off on the side of the slope and started getting out of his skis. He dug around in his Camelbak while I asked what he was doing. First he said “I’m fixing my boot.” Of course, not one to leave well enough alone, I asked again what he was doing. His response “I’m doing the best I can!” hahaha… He finally got the ring out of his bag and proposed right there at this most gorgeous spot at the top of the hill.
We found out that night that my sister in law was pregnant with #2, so needless to say it was a big day for our family!!
He took me for a walk in Riverside Park and wrapped his arms around me (as if he was afraid I was going to run away!) and asked me to marry him!! Later he surprised me with breakfast in bed (pine-nut cornmeal pancakes with apricot compote and mimosas). Yum!
My fiance took me on a surprise dinner date. He brought me to PF Changs (our first date location). While we were going to get out of the car, he said he didn’t have his wallet and told me to look in his glove compartment. He had put the ring box in his glove compartment with his wallet, but silly me was completely oblivious to this. I shoved the box aside and grabbed his wallet. Then, clearly a little anxious, he goes “what is that?” I simply just said I don’t know. He was expecting me to pick it up and open it. When that didn’t happen, he grabbed the box and started opening it. I was still oblivious. Then, I caught a glimpse of the ring and immediately I say “Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god” Then he asked me to marry him. That was such a magical moment. ![]()
While vacationing on the East coast, he set up a picnic (my favorite) and rented a rowboat in central park and proposed on the water… it was very sweet ![]()
Because I kept foiling every attempt at a traditional surprise proposal, he managed to surprise me by proposing in the morning after I woke up! He serenaded me in the living room after leaving a note and an empty ringbox by my bedside table. My disheveled bedhead and scrubby PJs meant no pictures but it was still memorable and sweet =).
He got up before me and put the ring on our cat’s collar. The cat usually wakes me up in the morning looking for his breakfast. I woke up to loud purring and a grinning boyfriend. It was perfect!
he kneeled, told me that he needed to tie his shoe. he then offered to tie MY shoe, i was not wearing shoes at the time. he then asked me to marry him.. i don’t think i ever actually got around to saying yes, just showered him with kisses :).
He proposed on Valentine’s Day - he cooked me dinner and dessert, and afterwards, we exchanged presents. Then he told me that there was one more part to my present, and handed me a flat 8×10 package - I thought he’d framed a picture he’d taken for me. I tore off a corner of the wrapping to see a blown-up image of a ring design - and tore it all off to reveal three designs (that happened to be designed by my best friend, who designs jewelry for a living). He told me that I got to choose one design from the tree… then walked around the table (as I started to cry), got down on his knee, and asked me to marry him. I sooo wasn’t expecting it.
He proposed jsut after Christmas. We had a post-holiday “date night” set up. We had dinner at our favorite place (Copelands!) and he gave me earrings that matched my Christmas necklace. (I got a little excited at dinner when he took out a jewelry box, but was so delighted with the matching earrings that I completely forgout about an impending engagement!) I was still gushing about getting to wear the set to work the next day when we got home - and he opened the door to a candlelit dining room. While we were at dinner, my brother had come in and covered our table in candles and confetti, and added a dozen roses and 2 champagne glasses. I didn’t realize that my ring was there until he untied it from the stem of a glass and got down on one knee! I was so excited - I didn’t say yes, I told him “Of course!” as though he was silly for even asking. It was absolutely perfect - aside from my calls to my family being a little enthusiastic, thanks to the great champagne. ![]()
My guy came down from Bakersfield to UCLA where I was a summer RA to supposedly attend our Resident Director’s good bye party. When he came to my dorm room, we hugged and I said I just needed to grab a couple of things before heading to the party but he tells me that we don’t have time to go the party, we need to get my ring resized instead. Wha? I was like, did I hear him right? Maybe not the most romantic story, but it’s very typically him.
I got home from work at noon on October 23 and FI called me into his room (We’re in a 4 bedroom apt with 2 other room mates) and the stuffed animal I gave him 3 years ago was on his bed with a note sitting on top of it. I unfolded the note and it said “will you Marry T, check one” And there were two boxes. One said yes, and the other said yes. I turned around and he was on one knee, ring in hand.
Shortly after, we said we loved each other for the first time. It’s bee 3 and a half years! We always said we wanted that moment to be special
and now I’ll never forget it!
He proposed on the beach of Waikiki following a night of a fantastic dinner and some yummy drinks. I’d know what was happening all night so we were both a bit nervous. He was incredibly sincere and the whole event was very “us.”
My Fiance and are are big Disney fans! We have annual passes and we go probably every weekend. (sometimes even just for dinner and fireworks show!) and thanks to their new Photo program they have, we have the photos of the exact time he proposed! In front of the Disneyland Castle!!! It was about 9:30pm and we were on our way back to out car and we past the Disneyland Castle and he suggested we take a picture in front of it. We gave our photo card to the photographer and he took one picture. By the second picture my fiance was on his knees asking me to marry him. I was so exited we still don’t remember if i even answered yes!!
FI took me hiking (i am NOT an outdoorsy girl) and after maing me climb to the top of this ridiculous rock “mountain” he told me I had earned a prize, a beautiful diamond ring!!
I thought he asked, “Are you mad at me?”
He proposed on our graduation day.
***
I was heartbroken not to be able to attend his graduation because I was at my own graduation. I should have realized something was up when his sister insisted I take extra care in selecting my outfit and shoes for our joint graduation party….
I graduated from our Alma mater, a rural liberal arts college in Vermont, in the morning with my teaching degree. He received his Masters in Cartooning from a college on the either side of Vermont.
My parents drove up from Pennsylvania, and his family was visiting from Mass. His parents hosted a delicious Southern BBQ on their porch, honoring his step-father’s New Orleans roots. When we arrived, I was happily exhausted. On the porch his step-father, Don, was BBQing up some mean ribs.
***
I thought he asked, “Are you mad at me?”
Christopher was whispering and, well as many of you already know, Chris hardly ever whispers.
I was distracted by all of the people on his Mother’s porch, and exhausted from my graduation and the two hour trip to Springfield, Vermont.
Chris and I were standing on the steps of the porch, able to watch the awkward mingling of our parents without having to participate.
I thought he asked, “Are you mad at me?” and I replied, ‘What?”
I’m such a romantic.
Christopher asked again, this time with better enunciation, and I saw the box and his cheeky grin and nearly fell off the porch. I obviously said “yes.”
My engagement ring is a fire opal. It belonged to his Yia Yia (his Greek Grandma) and the ring was given to her when she was nine years old by her Godmother. The gem is well over 100 years old.
Opal is from the Sanskrit “upala” meaning “precious stone.”
In less than four hours, I received both my diploma and an engagement ring! I’m the luckiest Bee, to marry my Cartoonist fella under the Vermont trees!
@Denise
–Eep. “other,” not “either.” I may be a teacher, but I’m so giddily nervous typing our story I can’t actually type! LOL
We are both into arts and one day he had asked me we should go visit the Getty Museum. We arrived and saw all the displays. We decided to take walk at the garden. There were benches so we sat and talked about how lovely the day was and what arts we have seen. I had turned around to smell a flower, when I looked back at him he had the ring out and purposed to me. It was so perfect…..
Since my fiance and I had been dating for over 7 years I did not see his proposal coming. On Christmas morning we awoke as usual and did Christmas with my dad, my sister and my brother. After opening our presents, which I have to say I was disappointed in his as he usually puts more effort in, he said he had one more for me. We go upstairs and he sang me a song that he had written for me then he says he has one more present for me and hands me a little gift wrapped box. By the time it is open he is down on one knee and I am crying. He asks “Will you be stuck with me?” and I sputter yes! Needless to say I was very happy with this present!
He asked me after work on the most average of average days. It was a complete surprise because of the timing. We were going on vacation a few days later and he was too scared to bring the ring on the plane and he also knew I would need to have it resized so he asked me a few days before so the jewler could have it sized before we left. It was great because it was such a surprise and we got to celebrate while we were on vacation.
My fiance and I were visiting Boston for the weekend back in October. We spent Sunday morning walking around the city and enjoying the leaves. After a picnic in Arnold Arboretum, with a beautiful view of the city, he proposed. It was a really wonderful, private moment in the middle of a city that we both love!
He took me on a weekend trip to NYC to celebrate my being done with finals, and surprised me with a ring in Central Park.
My boyfriend of NINE YEARS waited until I came home from a European vacation with a girlfriend. It was New Year’s Eve, and I had been awake and traveling for almost 30 hours. He waited until midnight, and popped the question with a champagne toast.
After a romantic night at the Top of the Hyatt in San Diego the night before our graduation from UCSD, he surprised me with what I thought was a ring box, but was actually a pair of earrings. (I tried not to be slightly disappointed–it was so sweet of him to get me earrings unexpectedly, and just because the whole thing up until that point felt like a proposal … well, how could I be sad that I had a boyfriend who would plan romantic nights out and buy me jewelry!) We went back to his place, which was suspiciously clean and roommate-free (but by that point my radar was totally gone) and he mentioned he had something else for me–a graduation gift. It was a completely wrapped package from Amazon, which I tore apart to find an old copy of The Great Gatsby, one of my favorite books. When I opened it to admire it, he had glued the pages together and cut out the shape of a tiny box, inside which was a diamond ring. I was COMPLETELY caught off guard (the package from Amazon had been completely intact!) and kept saying, “Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh!” He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him, and I said yes–of course!–and we hugged and cried and he put on the ring, and then he had one more gift for me–a beautiful antique typewriter he had bought with a sheet of paper inside with a note that said, “Kelly, you said yes! I knew it! -J.” (He confessed that 4 months prior, when I thought he was visiting his best friend in Irvine, he had actually flown to the Bay Area to talk to my parents about getting married and to buy my ring; he went with my mom and aunt to an estate sale afterward, which was where he got the beautiful typewriter.) Then he called our friends, who were waiting anxiously, to come over, and they came running (literally) to his apartment to celebrate with us. My parents and brother (and almost all of our friends) already knew, but my relatives were in from out of town to see me graduate, so the next day there was a big party (ostensibly a graduation party, or so I thought) where we announced our engagement and our friends had made a beautiful picture slideshow for us. It was really perfect; I have never been so overwhelmed with love and happiness and joy. And I was so, so blown away by the care and creativity that went into J’s proposal–not half bad for someone who claims he just ’sucks at romance.’
I was on my way over to his house and as I got out of the car he was there on one ring with the ring- not as romantic as everyone else’s but very “me”
He was planning for months. the plan was to have all our friends and family hiked up diamond head waiting for us. He’s been e-mailing my sister the plans and to make sure my parents will be able to hike up to the top. And she was responsible to inform everyone on my side (family and friends).
I found out the night before from finding copies of my sister’s e-mail in the bathroom. We hiked to the top, he proposed and I told him “WAIT, read this”. I wrote the card the night before with my answer. As he read it, we laugh and he told the crowd my answer, “YES”. he proposed one day before our 1 year anniversary. =)
here is the link to the video of the proposal his friend did for us.

Cute, I’m loving reading everyone’s stories. My fiance and I had talked about marriage in the eventual sense many times but in the month before my birthday he was talking about it A LOT. You know how guys are obvious. Anyway, I started thinking my birthday might be the day and told a friend, but the fancy dinner and gift came and went with no ring. Then I felt like an idiot for imagining things and was really embarrassed about having mentioned it to someone cause I didn’t want to seem like I was the ultimatum type… Anyway about a week later he got home from work and I tried to give him a hug but he ran past me to the room and closed the door. I figured he was mad at me. Then he came out and asked me if I wanted to play pictionary. I didn’t and I was really confused but I said ok. He started drawing out Europe on his giant whiteboard, with special emphasis on the Mediterranean. We had long ago decided that ‘if we got married’ our honeymoon would be there. He drew in some famous landmarks and stick people of us then asked me what was missing. I was now completely confused/annoyed so I started drawing in the UK, complete with a Big Ben. Then I turned around to see him on one knee with the ring in his hand, saying a jumble of words that amounted to him wanting to go there as husband and wife. Like many others, I don’t remember what he or I said, but it meant yes. Now every time someone asks how we got engaged I just say ‘at home’ cause I feel like the story is so long and makes no sense.
It was a week after my birthday, Sept. 28th and we had planned a trip to Chicago to help his sister and BIL paint there new house, or so I thought. After coming home from a fancy dinner and much delaying on the painting end we finally headed upstairs to change into painting close. At the top of the stairs I noticed candles set up leading out onto the balcony (which by the way has an absolutely gorgeous view of the Chicago skyline). When I turned to my fiance and asked what all this was for he just smiled and said “I thought we would come out here and have some dessert.” To that I responded, “Aww you are so sweet. I love you.” but in my head I was thinking “Yes! Finally some dessert!!!” (we had skipped that part at dinner) As I wrapped my arms around his waist to give him a hug for being so thoughtful, he got this strange look on his face. Next thing I know he is whisking me over to the nearest chair, got down on his knee and blurted out “I love you, will you marry me?” He had been so worried that I had detected the ring box (which I really hadn’t) in his pocket when I went to hug him he panicked. He hadn’t even heard me say “Yes!” before I started kissing him. After a good laugh and reassuring him I had indeed said “Yes,” he slipped the most beautiful ring I have ever seen on my finger. After the the exciting greeting from his sister and BIL and the phone calls we ended the night by preping everything to paint the next day. I thought it was the perfect suprise ![]()
He concocted a fake New Year’s Eve party complete with fake Evite, to which people who were in on the surprise—and some people I didn’t even know—responded. The hour drive to the party destination (Newport) turned into a 3-hour drive because of a snowstorm.
Lo and behold, we pulled up to a b&b. It wasn’t until we were at the check-in desk that I said, “wait a sec…are we NOT going to a party??”
We stayed in with some champagne and pizza and five seconds before the ball dropped—our six year anniversary—he proposed!
my fiance popped the question on a picnic at corona del mar beach on a warm but windy day (nov. 7, 2008).
We had talked about getting engaged, but I didn’t think it was going to happen for at least another 4-6 months. He came home one night and asked me to help him unload the groceries. He handed me a bag, from which I pulled a very fancy bottle of champagne. I asked why he bought it, he said- because we need to celebrate and got down on one knee and the rest is history!
I was working in DC for a month last fall, and my fiance came out to visit one weekend. We had some time before our dinner reservation the first night he got in, so we took a walk around the neighborhood and ended up in a park near the White House. He got me to turn around and look at a nearby statue, and when I turned back I saw him getting down on one knee and pulling the ring out of his pocket. I was so surprised I think I forgot to say yes!
Nick and I met when we were both doing biology research in the same lab at Marquette University in Wisconsin. (Nick likes to tell people “she blinded me with science!”) We only worked together for a couple months because I was leaving soon to begin graduate school in Indiana and he was going to start working in Boston. On my last night in town, we admitted our feelings for each other. We knew it would be tough, but we began a long distance relationship. With many plane tickets and high cell phone charges, we made it work because we knew we had something special. We met up in Wisconsin on the weekend of our one year anniversary to attend the wedding of a mutual friend. When he picked me up at the airport, he told me that we needed to stop by Marquette so he could get some data from our old boss. I told him that I didn’t mind taking this detour since I had such fond memories of the campus. As we drove to the school, I called my parents to let them know that my plane had landed safely. Of course I didn’t know it at the time, but Nick had already called to let them know that he was going to ask me to marry him. As I was talking to my mom, I didn’t suspect a thing. She was such a great actress! Meanwhile, Nick was panicking that I’d figure it out. As we walked, I was so absorbed in telling him a story that I was not paying attention to where we were headed. (Needless to say, he wasn’t paying attention to what I was saying because he was so nervous.) When I finally stopped talking, I saw that we weren’t going inside the biology building, but he was instead leading me to a beautiful chapel located right next it. Even though he began saying very sweet and romantic things to me, I didn’t fully realize what was going on until he got down on one knee and proposed. I was totally surprised, but of course I said yes. Even though we’re now engaged, we’re still long distance because he won’t move to Indiana until the wedding! It will be nice to finally be able to live in the same state as the man I love! (And we won’t have to buy plane tickets anymore!)
My fiancé and I are from West Virginia and there are a quite a few of scenic places in the state. In late October, He asked me if I wanted to go take some pictures at Blackwater Falls and Dolly Sods, because we had been there two years before for a weekend trip. We went to Blackwater Falls first and then headed up to Dolly Sods. We tried to take a few self-portraits but the wind was working against us (Dolly Sods is known for it’s 1/2 sided pine trees because the wind blows so hard). So, my fiancé suggested that we should set the timer on the digital camera. He propped the camera up on a rock and set the timer. He came back to me, and explained that he kind of lied to me about the reason we went on the day trip. Then he continued to tell me what I meant to him and that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. And of course, I said yes.
The best part though is that the camera I thought was set to a timer. He actually set the camera on video, so I have our entire proposal recorded, minus sound because of the wind. He did it so I could pull stills from the video because he knew I would want pictures of us getting engaged. It’s cute to watch, because you can see how loving he was, how surprised I was, and you can also see that we were both shaking a bit.
He took quite some time planning everything and making sure everything stayed a surprise. I loved it… he did an awesome job.
Last Fall, FI convinced me that he wasn’t going to propose until after the holidays, even though he’d already asked my Dad’s blessing.
On Thanksgiving, we were at my parents house having dinner with my family, and we went around the table, as is our tradition, saying what we’re thankful for. We all said our piece and then went on with dinner. Once everyone had pretty much finished eating, FI goes “Oh, I thought of something else I’m thankful for!” and he thanked my parents for inviting him to dinner for the 2nd year in a row. And then he started saying how thankful he is to have met me and have me in his life and only when he reached into his pocket did I realize what was happening! He got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife! I was completely surprised, I forgot to answer and just started hugging and kissing him. Finally I said “YES! Of course!” then my sister had to remind me to put the ring on
My whole family was surprised - he hadn’t told any of them that he was going to do it. It was so perfect ![]()
He took me to the restaurant where we had ‘the talk’ to get serious! I love Salty’s now!
My (now fiance) decided that he wanted to take me out to dinner a couple of days before Valentine’s Day 2008 as we “were not going out to dinner on Valentine’s Day”. We went to the same restaurant where we went on our first date. I was sitting there at the table, rambling on about my day and He was fidgeting with his pocket (He would say I “wouldn’t shut up”). When I questioned him, he said he had forgotten to turn off his cell phone. He did that and two minutes later, was fiddling with his pocket again. It was then that he said “I know that we were not going to get each other anything for Valentine’s Day but I got you a little something.” He then pulled out one of those little plastic containers that you get at the grocery store with candy and cheap jewelry for a quarter. It was a little inside joke that rings were so expensive that the only one I would be getting was going to be from the candy dispenser in a grocery store. Inside, nestled between velvet formed to hold a ring, was a gorgeous platinum ring. Can’t say no to that! ![]()
Ok so here is the story.
Pete, out of the blue, says to me “I Have a present for you”. Instantly I hope for an engagement ring. Hey, I’m a girl ok!! So I am sitting in the chair in the dining room and he comes at me with a huge bag.
Huge Bag = No ring
I am still excited to be getting a present, I love presents! On top of the bag is the sweetest, most genuine love letter I have ever read. I start crying and he laughs at me. LOL Then he tells me open my present and I reach in the bag and it is a HUGE box. I open the box and there is something breakable inside. I lift off the top styrofome and there is the prettiest Disney Snow Globe.
I take a closer look and I see that it is inscribed with a message!
“Will You Marry Me?”
I read it and look at Pete and read it again and then Pete looks into my eyes, as he is pulling a ring box out of his pocket and says “So, Will You Marry Me?” I said “Yes!” and I held my hand out, it was all shaky and he took the ring in his fingers, he was all shaky too and he placed it on my finger. I was really crying now! He put the prettiest ring I HAVE EVER SEEN on to my shaky hand. It is so shiny and sparkly and set in platinum!
He hugged me and kissed me and told me how much he loved me. Then he said “There is one more thing.” I said “No, there isn’t, this can not be topped.” I took another box out of the gift bag and inside was a Pewter DVD case, that he also had inscribed. There is space inside for a DVD and a Picture! How awesome. So then he says to me “Did you see I had them put Lisa & Pete’s Magical Wedding Day?” I said “that is why I am crying again! LOL So we are engaged! I am so so excited! I love this man more then life it’s self!
We were supposed to be going to dinner on our anniversary, but instead he picked me up and started driving me to his house. When we got inside, it was all set up for a proposal. He quoted the 1 Corinthians 13:13, which says, “And these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.” He gave me a gift to represent each thing. “Faith” was a big, hardcover family Bible with our names engraved on the front. “Hope” was a cedar hope chest his grandfather made 60 years ago in high school woodshop. And inside the hope chest was “love” (my engagement ring!) The ring was beautiful. He designed a beautiful antique setting with his mom’s diamond in the middle. He gave it to me in the same crystal box his dad proposed to his mom in.
I was so surprised that I didn’t even realize he was proposing until he pulled out the ring! After this, we went out to dinner at our favorite restaurant, and went back to his house where there was a surprise engagement party waiting!
I love our proposal because it’s sentimental, and revolves around family and God. It was very us. ![]()
We were in Germany at Neushwanstein castle (the one in which Cinderella’s castle was modeled after). We had taken the tour of the inside with his family and I was in pure awe…it was beautiful. While his family was shopping at the gift shop he and I walked off by ourself to look around the outside. When we got to the balcony we tucked ourself into a corner to gaze at the beautiful building. He asked me if it was my favorite place in the world…I responded “yes…I love it here”. He proceeded to tell me that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me, and asked me to marry him. It was perfect!
We were in Croatia at a beautiful turquoise lake and as the sun was setting and the guests were mostly gone, he led me to sit on the dock of the pier. Looking out over the beautiful scenery, he popped the question!
since my fiancee and i are from diff cultures there were some initial conflicts between both sets of parents. luckily we’ve worked through it and he proposed to me at the friendship bell. it included a magic trick, a ring box with no ring (inside was a quarter) and silly dancers to distract me. i was so happy i still can’t remember it all but i’ve never been happier!
My fiance proposed to me on my birthday on the beach at sunset. It was completely unexpected and began out of a conversation about apartments. We took pictures of the ring and the sunset on my camera phone to send to everyone. ![]()
He took me to NYC where he asked my brother for my hand in marriage, then took me to Central Park in front of the bethesda fountain and started telling me how me loved in and tht I meant everything to him and got down on one knee. He pulled out the exact ring I had been drooling over since he mentioned the possibility of proposing…that man is amazing!
My sister had accidentally spilled the beans that my fiance would propose around valentine’s day, so he had to do some extra sneakiness to surprise me. I am an event planner so I was touring the Denver Art Museum as a potential event venue, and my fi had worked with the museum tour director to station himself with a 25 roses in the very last room. He scared the crap out of me because the tour guide let me in and then shut the door - there he was. And (engineer that he is) he had worked a contraption that would make the ring pop up out of the middle of the single white rose … and he asked me to be his.
He went for ultimate shock value . . . and just asked one random Saturday in our apartment! He knew I’d be tipped off by a romantic outing or dinner, so we just did what we do best: a fun walk through our fav Atlanta neighborhood to an annual art festival. We came home and he dropped to one knee in the doorway. I hadn’t washed my hair and was wearing a dirty t-shirt. True love!
It was October 4, 2008. My parents were visiting. We had made dinner and the four of us were sitting around our kitchen table eating good food and drinking sangria. I finished my sangria and got up from the table for a minute. I came back to the table and went into my glass to get a piece of fruit…and there it was, shining in the bottom of my glass. It had been in there the whole time and didn’t notice it when I took that last sip. My fiance must have been dying when I finished the glass and then got up. Well, when I saw the ring in the glass, I screamed “What is that?!” and kept repeating over and over again. My Mom was freaking out cause she didn’t know what was going on. She thought there was a bug in my sangria. My Stepfather and Fiance were both quiet since they both knew what was in there. Then I started to cry. I pulled it out of the glass and showed my Mom and she started to cry. Then I reminded him that he needed to ask me, haha, and he did and of course I said yes. I loved my proposal cause it was very personal and intimate. I was so happy that my Mother and Stepfather could be there, as we’re both super close with both of them. It was a wonderful memory the four of us will share forever!
Wow what a giveaway!
He took me to a lovely dinner at a restaurant on top of one of the tallest buildings overlooking downtown. Our table overlooked the beautiful night sky. We had a lovely dinner and instead of the dessert I ordered, the waiter brought out a gorgeous ring under a silver platter covered in rose petals. And I thought that only happened in the movies! ![]()
In our living room. It wasn’t a surprise, since we’ve been talking about it and picked out the ring together. It had just been resized that day, and I was all like “Whatever, give me the ring, we’ve been engaged since we’ve deiced we’re going to get married three months ago,” but no:)
He gave me a duffle bag with a note that said “We’ve been together a long time. Do you remember when we first kissed?” The bag had a combination lock, and the date was the combination. There was a package inside. I opened that up, and there was a box of M&Ms with a note that read “Most times were sweet” and another package. Opened that up and there was a box of Sweet Tarts with a note that said “Some times were sour” and another package. Opened that up and there was a stuffed animal that he sent with me when I studied abroad a few years back with a ribbon tied around him and a note that read “But I want you to know that I always want you to have the key to my heart” and another package. Opened that up and there was a cardboard ring box with holes punched in it. I had to open the lock with the key. Opened that box and there was a clamshell ring box. Inside, there was a note that said “Will you marry me?” with the ring. It was totally sweet. I followed up with my proposal about 1.5 weeks later with a pendant I got custom-made for him.
My Fiance and I had been talking about getting married for a while, but I was completely surprised when he proposed infront of many members of my family at what I thought would just be a normal Memorial Day weekend picnic.
He and my cousin came walking around to the back of the house where we were all sitting, my cousin carrying a small gift bag. My Fiance took the bag from him and announced to my family that he had bought me a special gift to celebrate my upcoming college graduation. What I pulled out of the bag was the shirt that I am wearing in this photo, a shirt reading “I said yes.” My Fiance then opened his jaket (it was a cold afternoon) and revealed his shirt that read “Kate Will you Marry Me”. It was the best moment of my life. Many members of my family were there to witness this joyous event, and my cousin recorded the whole thing on my mom’s camera! What a great keepsake! It truly was, for me, the perfect proposal.
My fiance proposed in a cave. Sounds odd, but it was great. We were traveling up the Mekong in Laos. Our boat stopped at a cave filled with 5,000 buddhas. I was so focused on taking photographs that I wasn’t paying attention to him trying to get me alone. Finally, I walked into an empty part of the cave with him, he got down on his knee and asked. I was shocked and it took me a few moments to compose myself and say yes! Definitely memorable!
After a day of visiting four of the California Missions (my favorite!), he proposed on the beach at sunset along the Central CA coast. I was so shocked (even after nine years of being together) that I heard nothing of the proposal and made him get down on his knee and repeat the whole speech once I composed myself!
My fiance proposed while we were walking along the park near our old college. It was sweet, meaningful, and unexpected!
He proposed while watching Anchorman-our favorite movie! It was a Saturday night and the time was approaching 10pm. We usually spend Saturday nights snuggled up on the couch anyway. He had probably been waiting for the right moment all day long and his time was running out to get it done that particular day. I wouldn’t change a thing!
My fiance proposed to me on the first day of our getaway to Puerto Rico on 02.12.09. It was right after dinner, we walked around a park in Condado that led to the sandy beach. We decided to sit on a bench, and he told me how much he loved spending time with me and was happy we were away by ourselves - not having to think of work and the stress of the daily grind. He then proceeded to ask me what I wanted to do for our 5 year anniversary, and I said we can go have a picnic in Central Park. He then said (in a quivering voice) that we should celebrate something else. He took out a little black box, and the rest is history. Now we’re engaged, and having fun with the wedding planning process
It was the most perfect start to a wonderful vacation.
we missed celebrating our anniversary so a few weeks later, he made a photo album of the past 5+ years we’ve been together. Each page had a photo with a special caption. i was expecting a picture of him with a ring as i flipped through the pages, but on the last page, NO PROPOSAL! i was confused, but then he said that he had something else for me…that’s when he proposed.
For my birthday my fiance gave me a pair of rain boots. Inside one of the boots was a picture. It was a picture of something in our house and I had to figure out what it was. When I figured out what it was, I went to that part of the house and there was another picture and it went on and on, until the last picture. The last picture was of an engagement ring hanging in the Christmas tree! I found the ring hanging in the tree, he took the ring off of the tree and proposed on bended knee.
I love everyones stories!
My fiance knew that I had an idea that he was going to propose so he came up with a plan with 1 of our favorite married couples. Our friends had a baseball game that we were supposed to go watch but my fiance said he was too tired and I ended up going by myself. While at the game my friend asked we wanted to go get something to eat after the game to celebrate her hubby getting a new job. I was really excited for them and called my fiance who asked if I could pick him after the game and we would drive over to the restaurant together. I picked him up and was going to wait till our friends called before we left the house but my fiance said he want to grab a drink before our friends showed up and be on time for our reservations. I was a bit confused since this was a last minute dinner plan but thought nothing of it. We got to the restaurant and were sitting at the table looking at the drink menu waiting for our friends, I couldn’t decide what I wanted to drink so my fiance told me to look at the special drink menu and handed me a little black leather book that looked like the other menus. I was excited that there was another drink menu and when I opened it up it had a picture of my engagement ring! I looked up and he was down on one knee infront of me with the ring asking me to marry him!
The cutest part was that the night before he had gone over to my parents house and had let them know he was going to ask me and had shown them the ring! It was absolutely perfect and I was completely surprised!
We got engaged on a cute pier in our city. A boat blared its horn every time my hubs opened his mouth to speak. After about four attempts, the boat was finally silent and my hubs finally popped the question.
Well, it started out as a trip to go visit some family and friends before he left for Marine boot camp. It couldn’t have been more stressful leading up to the trip… his landlord gave a 2 day notice of when he wanted Josh out of the apartment, the car was having issues, and we missed a very important appointment amidst all the chaos! I was ready to get out of town but was still tense after our intense week. He did his best to cheer me up and assure me that it would indeed be a great week.
Our first stop was in Lincoln, NE for me to meet his parents for the first time. They were so accommodating and sweet; we had a lovely time. Next, we traveled down to Oklahoma for him to meet my best friends. We all went out for supper and hit the sack, only to find out the next morning that he had been called in early! We had to pack up and leave immediately for South Dakota so he could fly out the next day. I was devastated because he was leaving me early, but he maintained a positive attitude. He made a pit stop in Nebraska City at the Arbor Mansion and Lied Lodge- the home of Arbor Day. We had talked about that place, and he knew that I desperately wanted to go there (because I’m sort of a tree hugger ;)). It had just turned dark, so there was no one around. As we walked around the beautiful, white mansion, he told me that his family had visited there when he was a kid and he’d always wanted to come back. When we reached the doorstep to the entrance, he told me reached in his pocket and retrieved a crystal, heart shaped container with a gorgeous vintage ring (from the 1940’s!). He was so awkward about it that I had to laugh! I don’t even remember what he said. All I know is that amongst the laughter and tears I said yes! It was the best goodbye present I could have ever gotten.
We decided to take a much needed vacation that just so happened to fall over our 2 year anniversary. At first I was curious if it would be for a proposal, but the FI had set me up for a fall proposal, so I really didn’t think so. Our final night in Nassau was our anniversary and my FI had planned for us to go to a really nice place for dinner….which I veto’ed. I really can’t remember why I didn’t want to travel from our resort over to Atlantis for dinner, but I didn’t….so I lovingly suggested we dine at a local place that was highly recommended…. It was named…The Poop Deck. Apparently after spending the entire week concerned about the ring hidden in his luggage, he had planned to propose over dinner. However, there was no way he wanted that moment to be at a place named the poop deck
So dinner came & went, and included a beautiful sunset. Back at our resort we decided to go out to the beach for our final evening stroll of the vacation….on a pier where I’d sat to enjoy the view of the ocean he dropped to a knee and asked if I would be his wife…to which I replied…Are you serious?! and then nodded yes.
My boyfriend of eight years have went with my family and I to Stateline, Nevada. My parents had tickets to go see The Beach Boys. My sister, Steve, and I had decided we should drive to Las Vegas and hang out. We had kid around that we would go see the cirque du soleil LOVE show, which is a show I been wanting to see. But there was 3 of us and the cost of tickets were pretty high. Anyhow we drove to the hotel Mirage thinking we would go to the gift store. As my sister and I looked around, he had walked away and came back with 3 tickets. I cried because he had really surprise me. I remember texting my friends telling them my dream has come true and that I am going to see the performance of the life time.
The show was amazing. I cried and I laugh. The last song from the performance was “All you nee is love” and that is when he purposed to me. I was in shock because I had no idea and just seeing the performance was a big surprise.
We drove back to Stateline and had announced my family of our engagement.
In May last year Erich got a 4 day weekend for Memorial Day, and flew home from army training in Augusta, Georgia. We had already been talking about getting engaged, but he had to pass the test by asking my Father’s blessing and basic approval. I knew Erich would be a little nervous about asking, but I also knew I didn’t want to have to listen to the conversation between him and my dad, so I opted to stay away for a while. He came over to pick me up to go to a friend’s house and I was still in the shower, when I got out he was waiting for me in the living room. On the car ride, I was anxious to know how it all went, but since it was a short trip nothing was really discussed, except that my dad had told Erich he thinks I may be too young and that he wants me to finish my schooling, which is a no-duh in this day and age. The whole night Erich makes me think that my dad is so not on board or even happy about the whole idea of us getting married. When Erich is dropping me off, we sit on his tailgate and talk a while. He eventually gets off the tailgate and gets right in front of me and pulls a box out of his pocket (while doing this, he is saying all this mushy stuff that I was so not listening to, because all I could think about is the fact that even the talk with my dad had apparently not gone well). So I blurt out: “YOU ARE ACTUALLY GOING TO DOING IT ANYWAY?!” He smiles and says “Your dad didn’t say no, or even object to it, he just has worries.” So it was all nice and I put the ring on and we sat back down for awhile, then, (crazy I know) a coyote makes an appearance in my driveway, chasing some cats, stares at us, we stare back, he runs off, we giggle. End of a beautiful night.
My proposal was not romantic at all *blushing* but that’s what I love about him - spontaneous, honest, and without embellishments that would be unnatural to him.
I was staying home for few days from cold, and the only thing cheered me up were his daily emails (we live in different city). One day as I was battling with stuffed nose and throbbing headache, I received an email in my inbox from him which reads a string of French sentence “je t’aime, veux-tu m’épouser? :)” I immediately googled it up and, and what else could it be but “I love you, will you marry me?” The next weekend when he came to see me, we window-shopped for engagement ring. We’re planning to wed next year ![]()
My fiance and I had our first date at a Cleveland Indians baseball game. Even though we moved away from Cleveland, we made a tradition of going to opening day together. On opening day last year he got me to a more secluded part of the ball park and had someone take our photo in front of a plaque of a hall-of-fame player. As we were saying “cheese” he dropped down on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. He had some trouble getting the ring box out of his pocket, so I tried to pull him up off his knee chastizing him for joking about such a thing….then I saw the ring and realized he was not joking! The rest of the day was a blur- but our team won the game!
My family was taking a long weekend trip to NYC before Christmas to do some sightseeing and last minute shopping. Joel and I flew up on the evening of December 18th. I was very upset when we landed because my family didn’t wait for us to go to dinner. Joel insisted that we go up to the Empire State Building and see the view before meeting my family for drinks after ‘their family’ dinner. We were on the observation deck of the Empire State Building for roughly 30 minutes taking pictures when I started getting irritated (it was about 10 degrees out!). Right when I was getting ready to head inside and leave Joel to finish taking his pictures, he got down on one knee and proposed. We then headed back to the hotel and had drinks with my family (who then proceeded to tell me that Joel insisted that they go to dinner without us so he could propose. It was such a sweet set up and an unforgettable night/weekend!
He proposed in the car. While driving. Apparently he’d decided that very moment that he wanted to get married and just blurted out, “so, umm, so you maybe wanna get married?” Ridiculous, but so very us, I suppose.
After work on Friday I was getting ready to go out to dinner adn just as I walked down the stairs he kneeled down on one knee, opened the ring box, and asked me to marry him. He had chilled champagne and then he took me out to dinner at my favorite restuarant. We left on a road trip the next day to visit my friend in Chicago so I got to chat his ear off the whole way about wedding planning - he didn’t even complain once. The ring is beautiful. He is going to make the best husband!!
Wow.. how can I tell you briefly. [Long version : http://lizzandrob.weddingwindow.com/
On 01.09.09 we had only been officially together just shy of six months and met nine months prior. I am 25, never had a boyfriend, and being that I’m conservative I knew that when I entered into a serious relationship I was looking for Mr. Right and not Mr. Right now.
Three months into our relationship we were talking marriage and a month later he started planning the proposal! He wanted to make it public but intimate and very us. Since I’m so girly, kid-like and semi-love attention he decided upon Times Square Toys-R-Us. It was public (so many tourist!), it was intimate (he took me on the ferris wheel), it carried our light-hearted fun loving theme. He coordinated with the entire staff and made sure to get us on the Barbie car, have the photographer there, flew my best friend from LA, have a bouquet of red roses, the Ferris wheel stop at the very top, etc. He got down on one knee.. said his two cents “ever since I’ve been with you I’ve been on top of the world, etc…. will you marry me?” I screamed and covered my ears lol. Then of course I cried and said yes! It was the best just like him ![]()

So exciting. We were just talking about a video cam as Mr. Onion’s best friend (and groomsman) and his wife are having their first child on April 8th!! So, Mr. Onion proposed on our first night in our first apartment together (on the UWS on April 2, 2006)! Although we’d talked about getting married, so that wasn’t a surprise, the proposal itself was was totally in the moment and romantic. We’ve come so far since then and have purchased our first apt. together in Brooklyn.
Cool! We had a real low key proposal. Basically, we bought the ring together and then went out to dinner the next week before he could decide what to do, he really just wanted to get it over with- but in a good way!
I got home from work and he called and sounded kind of frantic about us having to walk the dogs in the park near our house. So he got home and we went to the park and while we were walking our dogs he got down on one knee and proposed. It was totally us, nothing big and no one else around but our dogs.
This camera would be awesome for the honeymoon!
I got home Friday to a note and red Gerbera Daisies. The note said to pack up- we were going away for the weekend. After FI got home, we went to at a fancy restaraunt that I’ve always wanted to go to. After that, we went to a comedy club that we love. When that was over we went to a fancy hotel downtown (with valet parking!!). He had taken the day off to set the hotel room up with rose petals, wine and other things that reflected a “now and then theme” and then he got down on one knee! The rest of the weekend was filled with a cooking class and another dinner.
He took me up to Niagara Falls for our anniversary and got a beautiful hotel room overlooking the falls. Right before we left for dinner at the revolving dining room of the Skylon tower he dropped to one knee and asked me to marry him! It was wonderful, private, and just what I wanted! We’re going to Hawaii for our honeymoon and this camera would be very easy to carry and capture all of our new memories!
My fiancee proposed to me on a beach in Key West after sunset. Sooooo romantic. ![]()
My FI was very sneaky. I inadvertently planned our engagement dinner by suggesting we go out to eat and picked the restaurant and even paid for the meal! (He was most proud of the fact that he threw me off the scent by having it be a dinner I was paying for - we alternate who gets the bill.) After dinner, he suggested a walk down the water towards the Statue of Liberty. Which I didn’t want to do because I was tired and needed to use the bathroom. But I agreed and we slowly walked down the water’s edge. We stopped to sit on a bench and then he knelt and proposed! For the full story - http://junage.blogspot.com/2008/05/proposal.html
My fi almost wasn’t my fi…
It all started because my fi went to a batchelor party for a friend of ours.
A week later, we were supposed to go to this friend’s wedding. During the morning, I found out that my fi forked out $1700 for an all night last minute limosine that drove all over for his friend’s batchelor party the week before. As we needed a new roof and had been debating for weeks on how we were going to pay for it, I was furious!
I went for a run and ended up crying on the bleachers by the track. My fi’s mom was calling me to see when s he and my fi’s fathercould pick me up for the wedding (we were riding together because my fi was an usher). I told her what had happened and that I wasn’t going to go. Knowing that my fi planned to propose to me that night, she tried to convince me to go to the wedding and “talk it over later”. I was stubborn and did not want to give in.
Apparently, a networking of criss cross phone calls were all happening as I sat pouting on the bleachers. My fi called my father to ask for my hand in marriage. My father told my fi that he should call back when my mother returned home! (That part cracks me up!) My fi’s mom called my mom to see if she could get me to go. My mom called me only to get no answer. My mom called my dad who then called me and got me to answer.
My father and my mother were now trading the phone back and forth, trying to get me to go to this wedding. I was so blind in my fury that I didn’t know that everyone was in on trying to get me to this wedding reception so that Aaron could propose. Needless to say, my parents talked me out of the tree, and I went home to talk to my fi.
My fi made the most profusely appologetic plea for forgiveness that ever was pled, and of course, being that I love him so much, I accepted his appology with the promise that he would never set foot in a limousine ever again.
Later that night, at his friend’s wedding, we stepped outside, and my fi got down on one knee to propose to me. Of course, I said yes and laughed later being told of all the group effort that had gotten us to this moment.
Although he is banned from expensive rental vehicles for the rest of his life, I may be getting my fi a groom’s cake in the shape of one! ![]()
On August 20, 2008, After years of enjoying each other’s company, Ken finally worked up enough courage to ask Anna to get married.
The story unfolded as we spent a few days at Stanley Lake (in Idaho) with family and friends. Ken was nervous about popping the question not only because of the magnitude of the event but also because the previous day he had split open his lip in a firewood stacking mishap.
Luckily, our hero was not deterred by his freshly swollen jaw. After spending the day fly fishing and hot springing, the group was preparing the evening meal at the campsite. Ken casually slipped into the tent to retrieve the ring that was hidden inside his raincoat which he placed into his swim trunks. Then, Ken faced the most challenging part of the proposal: persuading Anna to put down her freshly opened beer to go on an afternoon canoe ride.
While rowing across scenic Stanley Lake, Anna began to grow suspicious that something was up. She did not know if it was part of the brain injury Ken sustained from the wood stacking accident or if there was some lingering after effects from his early morning swim in the freezing, glacial lake.
Ken kept rambling on about happiness, kids, God, and everything in between as the two crossed the lake. As they neared their campground shoreline, Ken hollered to his friend Matt to take a picture. He then thrust himself towards the middle of the canoe, Anna’s eyes grew wide as she feared his maneuver would surely capsize the canoe. Her fear quickly melted away as Ken produced the hidden ring and asked her to get married. She responded by flinging herself across the other side of the canoe into his embrace.
The canoe did not sink, Anna got her beer, and the celebration began around the campfire as plans were hatched for the wedding in one year at the same location.
Christmas truly is a magical time for me, and always has been. I make a fuss over hanging lights, decorating trees, listening to Christmas tunes (especially Elvis), and adhering to the advent calendar. Growing up in Pennsylvania, Christmas was ever present between the snow storms, cutting down your own tree in the woods, and the crisp cold weather. Since moving to Arizona, I have sometimes felt the lack of the Christmas spirit due in large part to the warm weather and it just not feeling like Christmas without the cold weather, snow and my family. Because of this, I had created a journal to document one thing daily throughout the month of December that made it feel like Christmas. Whether it be the first time the weather got cold enough to turn on the heat in the car in the morning on my way to work, putting up the Christmas tree, or even just a fun Christmas movie I watched that day, I was documenting “My Christmas 2008.”
Scott and I have a tradition every year of exchanging Christmas gifts alone on Christmas Eve and watching It’s A Wonderful Life. It is our own private celebration of the magic of Christmas, knowing that Christmas day is spent traveling from one relative’s house to another to enjoy the day with family. On Christmas Eve, after eating dinner and enjoying a nice bottle of wine we sat on the dining room floor with the glow from our Christmas tree as our only source of light and turned on some festive music. I gave Scott his gifts: a shirt and a DVD of his favorite HBO series. Then it was my turn. I opened them all until there was only one small box left. Before opening the box, Scott said to me “Where is your December journal?” When I asked why he said “because I think you might want it for this next one.” I was confused, but I smiled and got my journal and then sat back down and placed it on my lap. He then said “go ahead and open it to today” When I opened the journal to the 24th, the page was already complete. The page was decorated with a black and pink glittery letters that spelled out “will you marry me?” and completed with a smiling Santa staring back at me.
Scott later told me that he and his mother had gone to the local arts and crafts store stayed up all night on the 23rd laughing, talking, and decorating the “will you marry me” page of my journal.
I began to cry uncontrollably. After several minutes of holding each other and sobbing, he reminded me there was one last gift for me to open. The box was small…..I was sure it was a ring. As I slowly unwrapped the package, Scott explained to me that there was no ring in there but that we would have to pick it out together. Inside the box was a beautiful crystal ring holder. As I opened the last package, Santa Baby was playing throughout the house and the part when she says “forgot to mention one little thing, a ring” played as I opened the box which contained the glass ring dish. I told you he always remembers the details!
Not too much later in the evening, Scott reminded me that we had not yet opened our advent calendars for the day. He brought my calendar over to me as I still sat by the tree. I opened day 24 on the calendar and the ring fell out. I began to cry once again and hugged Scott so hard and he began to cry as well. Scott purchased my ring from Bailey, Banks, and Biddle which is the same jeweler that my paternal grandmother and aunts in Philadelphia have purchased all of their jewelry from since the early 1900’s. With everything Scott does, he continues to amaze me on how well he knows me, how much thought and purpose he puts behind all he does for me and quietly reminds me that I will always be his number one. It was the perfect proposal for someone like me who absolutely loves the Holiday season and all the hope and joy that it brings.
I knew he had the ring (which belonged to my mother, who passed away 3.5 years ago), and I was there when the jeweler called on Friday to say to was finished being resized. On Sunday I was leaving the college we both attended to go home, so that pretty much left him with Saturday.
And yet, I was still surprised. We had dinner plans with friends, so I figured it would be something that evening. He was supposed to come over 12ish and help me pack. He called and gave me the lamest excuse ever for why I should go get his stuff out of my car instead of doing it himself, and I fought him on it, but he was persistent to the point of obnoxious, so I agreed. My favorite part: in hanging up the phone he said, “I love you,” but I was so annoyed with him that my response was “whatever.”
I get to the car and there (on top of his stuff) were a dozen roses with a note saying how much he loved me and how much he was going to miss me. I started crying and didn’t read very thoroughly. I called him and he asked if I’d read the note. I said, “yes;” he said, “so are you coming?” I quickly reread and discovered that the end of the note said to meet him where we had out first kiss. I walked up to the spot and he proposed.

It was just a simple thing. He asked me at the airport before he flew off for business. Nothing fancy nor grand.
My finance proposed in a way the combined some of my most favorite things: horses, cheese, wine, water, and him of course. It was during our trip to Israel (where I grew up) last May, he took me on a private horse ride on the shores/cliffs of the Mediterranean sea at sunset. When we got back to the ranch at the end of the ride there are a table set up for us on the edge of the cliff overlooking the sea with wine, cheese and other snacks. The sky was magnificently red, purple and orange and he got down on one knee, hands shaking and all he could get out was “Marry Me?” - It was perfect.
I said yes of course! and here we are today ![]()
My husband proposed to me by putting my ring on our dog’s collar.
My fiance had big plans, including hiding it from me during a month long road trip until we got to the picturesque bridge in central park; surprising me in ikea; and getting on bended knee at the airport. But, once he got the ring, he couldn’t wait and proposed in the car in front of our newly rented house, 24 hours after receiving the ring — seatbelt still on.
OMG, I’ve got a good one! We were in NYC for the NY Marathon, & not to sound flip about something so serious, but my mother had passed away not even 3 weeks prior. I was sick as a dog, & had to risk my job to take 2 days off. So, not in the best mood. After a day spent @ the Marathon Expo (Booooring!), my FI insisted we visit the Empire State building under the guise that on our separate trips to NYC, neither of us had ever been. I begged off saying I was too sick, but he INSISTED saying this would be our only alone time, as a gaggle of his friends were joining us for the marathon THAT evening. So we get to the top–it was PACKED w/ tourists & took about 2 hrs due to some funky construction. There was barely enough room for us on the observations deck. I slipped inside to warm up, & when he turned around to propose–I was gone! He hauled me back out, & said, “Guess what arrived super-saver shipping?” (Our inside joke because whenever I asked for the ring that I made our screen saver, he’d reply, “Yeah I ordered it, but it’s gonna be awhile–Super Saver Shipping.” -even though Amazon doesn’t sell Tiffany!) On the way out, security killed my buzz by accusing me of shoplifting a postcard I bought to commemorate the evening. (Where’s the bag? Well then, where’s your receipt?) I didn’t need a bag, & I tossed the receipt in the gift shop trash bin–I’m not gonna return a $2 postcard! At least I didn’t get detained on this most special day! ![]()
My fiance (I love to say that) proposed to me in February of 2009. . . . not on Valentine’s Day. on Saturday 2/21/09, he took me to one of my favorite restaurants, Olive Garden. I was sooo sure today would be the day . . . . it wasn’t, LOL. He might have wanted to ask on that day, but because I’m a traditional girl, he wanted to ask my father first. My father lives on the Island of Trinidad. My fiance tried countless times to reach him and finally told me that he has been trying to reach my dad, but had no luck. Sunday, 2/22/09, we were at Petco getting our dog his shots. I tried to reach my dad to no avail. However, daddy called me back while we there and in the middle of Petco, my then boyfriend asked my dad for his blessing. I started crying when daddy said yes. So our pooch gets his shots and we go to his place to watch tv. In the middle of a comedy show, he asks me if I love him. I say yes and add that he needs to shhh cause the comedian is sooo funny. A few minutes later he asks me again and I say yes but I’m trying to watch the show. He turns off the television and says that he loves me with everything in him. I start crying. He says that he needs to do it right. He gets out of the bed and gets on BOTH knees (I thought it was so cute) and says that he loves me and wants to spend the rest of his life with me. Although I knew he purchased the ring and we had been talking about marriage for over a year, I say, “I can’t believe this is happening” - in my defense, I had the flu and had taken several doses of Nyquil. Of course through all my tears and sobbing I forgot to answer the question so he asked again and . . . . of course I said yes.
My husband proposed to me on Christmas morning 2007 when we were spending it at my parents house. He had secretly wrapped my ring in a larger box (so I wouldn’t guess), and he left it as the last present out of all 5 of us to open. My family always video records each person opening a gift and my dad was the one filming when Christian proposed!
It was Christmas Eve this year and we were at his sister’s house. I was completely oblivious to the idea that he would propose but, that’s what was in the back of his head the whole night. We had went out shopping last minute and when we got back he ran off to wrap some presents. We played a game of Life with his family and after it was over we sat down in the living room. his whole family was there and he said “We should open a present” He went and grabbed a small package from under the tree. I opened it up and it was a pair of Leather driving gloves that I had wanted. As soon as I had fully opened the package up a little grey box dropped out of the packaging, It was the ring. The next thing I knew he was on his knee and his brother was taking photos of us, He asked me to marry him and I was so shocked I started tearing up and didn’t say anything. His brother asked if that was a yes… It was, we’re set to be married August 17th, which coincidently is our mutual birthday.

Simple and classic.
My fiancee proposed to me after we took my son to the zoo. We had been talking about marriage (and shopping for a ring) for a few weeks at this point, and we knew that it was the next step. While we were at the zoo, he took my son and I to a little private stone garden with a bench, where he told my son how special he is to him.
When we got back home, we were exhausted (it was a HOT summer day in AZ… the heat actually forced the zoo to close earlier in the day!) but we snuggled in bed and just talked about life together while my son napped. He rolled over, kissed me, told me how much he loves me and his life with me and my son (I was a single mom at this point…) and asked me if he could officially join our family. How could I not say no to someone that amazing!? Every day I look at my son with the man who was amazing enough to take him in as his own (my ex left us) and I am blown away by life and how good it is.
He proposed at the restaurant that we had our first date at. We sat by the fireplace and ordered our usual meal-for-two that came with cookies for dessert. I remember the waitress was super nice that night (later E said it was because she was just holding back the glee). Instead of dessert, out came the ring box surrounded by rose petals. I was in shock! Afterwards, an anonymous couple at a nearby table bought us champagne to celebrate - I hope to pass this forward some day!
Before the time my fiancé and I got engaged we’d been dating long-distance [he lived in New York and I lived in Florida], with lots of extended visits and airplane traveling, for over two years [not long, but it felt longer whenever we were apart]. So one day, my fiancé decided it was about time we lived in the same state and instead of trying to convince me to move to New York HE moved to be closer to me! It was extra special, mainly because he’s a big family-oriented guy and basically his whole family lives in New York.
He moved to Florida about seven months before we became engaged. It was the day after Thanksgiving in 2007. We only had [still do] one car, so we basically went everywhere and did everything together. On this day he wanted to go Christmas shopping for his family, I wanted to go watch my brother play baseball. So we compromised and did both.
When we got to the mall and started looking for Christmas presents, a daunting task on it’s own [and we were going on Black Friday, of all days!!], my fiancé had his heart set on buying my engagement ring and trying to keep it a secret from me. He devised a plan for us to split up and look for a Christmas gift for each other, and it worked out beautifully: he chose and bought the ring, was able to conceal the bag so I didn’t see it and meet up with me at our arranged time! But then we got to the car. And he hadn’t planned to be so excited and overwhelmed with emotions.
In a parking lot filled well over capacity we got into the car and I began to put all the bags into the back seat. When I turned around he went into this whole speech, and even started crying! And then all of a sudden he pulls out this box and asks me to marry him. Needless to say I was completely surprised and taken off guard. To this day I still smile when I retell the story to people. I couldn’t have asked for a more heartfelt proposal!
[And if you’re wondering if he got down on one knee: he didn’t at the time, he was too busying concentrating on what he was saying to me to remember! But when we got to my brother’s game a family friend immediately insisted he get down on one knee in front of my immediate family, her family and a handful of other people and propose all over again!]
My fiance proposed on the beach in Costa Rica as we were looking at the moon and stars on the last night we were there. We went on vacation for thanksgiving in November 2007. It was the BEST vacation I have ever taken!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Too bad we were so sunburned from the day before that we really could not hug and celebrate like we should of so we celebrated by putting aloe gel on each other that night.
I don’t know if the whole story would fit here so I’m leaving the link to the whole thing which I posted on the Announcements board! Basically, we had picked out my ring over my Christmas break when I was back in town and I knew he had it. I figured the proposal would either come on Valentine’s Day (even thought he kept telling me that was ‘too cliche’) or while we were in NYC for my birthday and spring break! Instead, he came up with a wonderful, elaborate plan and told my best friend (who is at basic training right now) to see if she approved, asked my parents for their blessing, and got my roommate/friend to help him give me the best surprise/day EVER!
Here’s the link to the whole thing:

The day before we left for a 12-day Hawaii vacation for my close friends wedding, we had to pick up some water shoes from his parent’s house (where he used to live). We just got off from work and I looked beat and was ready to go home to finish package. I was in the bathroom when he called me over to see what he found in his old bedroom. Before I went in, he blindfolded me and said what he found was so funny, he needed to prepare it first and led me to the living room to wait. I waited for 5 minutes and was slightly thinking he was going to propose, but shot that idea down because I thought he would propose in Hawaii (we were dating for 7 years and I knew he’d do it soon). He came out and said the he actually wanted to take me somewhere first, so he led me blindfolded to my car and drove around for a few minutes. We entered a restaurant and he unblindfolded me. In front of my eyes were dozens of roses (my fav) and him in a suit. I looked around and realized we were at our first date location!!! He went down on one knee and said a bunch of things I don’t remember, then “Will you marry me?!” I was so caught off gaurd and my eyes welled with tears - “Yes!”
It was a strange day I remember. I wasn’t able to sleep because of a noisy neighbor so when I got home, he really wanted to go on a walk. I was tired and exhausted, so relentlessly gave in and we went for a walk. When we walked back into our apt. door…I turned around for something and there he was on one knee. It was simply sweet, adorable and wonderful moment!
He had me pack two suitcases with clothing for warm and cold weather. I found out en route to the airport that we were going to NYC. On our first class flight, he had me listen to a song on his iPod that was very touching, and it led perfectly into a proposal. Down on one knee, right there, in the airplane. ![]()
A few months after Kevin and Jen started dating, the couple took their first trip together to a bed and breakfast in the Berkshires. They went hiking, relaxed and were able to genuinely enjoy their time together without the busy distractions of law school. It was the perfect spot for a weekend getaway from the city. At the end of the trip, it was there in the gazebo behind the quaint B&B that Kevin first told Jen he loved her. This gazebo would play an important role later in the story…
Three years later, Kevin started thinking of the perfect way to propose, knowing it would have to be both meaningful and memorable. What better spot to propose than the place where he first said “I love you”? As the couple began pondering ideas for a summer vacation, Kevin convinced Jen to return to the B&B (they had been there twice already and she thought it would be nice to try something new). The 10-day trip would start with a weekend in the Berkshires, followed by stays at bed and breakfasts throughout New Hampshire and Maine. Kevin also secretly contacted the innkeeper to make the plans for the proposal and booked a hot air balloon ride in the Berkshires for the day after.
With the proposal date less than two weeks away there was only one step left. After telling Jen that he had dinner plans with people from work, Kevin took Jen’s parents out to dinner and asked for her hand in marriage. Whether it was the expensive steak or their approval of Kevin, her parents said they could not be happier.
With the ring safely in the suitcase, Kevin and Jen began their drive to the Berkshires on Saturday, August 30, 2008. Though outwardly calm, Kevin could not think of anything other than the upcoming proposal. As soon as they entered the B&B, Kevin knew immediately he could not make it until dinner that night. The original plans called for champagne and a candlelit gazebo, but Kevin could not bare the thought of walking around the entire day with the ring in his pocket. Instead, the innkeeper recommended the couple take out lunch from a local eatery and she would set up a table for them to eat inside the gazebo.
Jen thought this was just another ordinary lunch, but, as they ate, Kevin reminded her of the significance of the gazebo and they reminisced about their trip together three years earlier. Unable to hold it in any longer, Kevin wrapped up his sandwich and slowly walked over to Jen. As he reached into his pocket, he told her that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. He bent down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Jen was so elated and surprised, she could barely breathe, but, as tears streamed down her face, she managed to exclaim “of course.” And so begins the story of a lifetime together…
Okay… we were finishing up a year of teaching in Japan, and were spending our last week there in Tokyo. It was the plan all along to climb Mt. Fuji while we were there, so that’s exactly what we did! The climb was BRUTAL… it was pouring rain, and it took us almost 10 hours to make it to the top. We set out around 8 PM and got to the top around 5 AM, just after sunrise. After all the climbing, mixed with lack of sleep and slight altitude sickness, I was definitely not feeling my best. We were both soaking wet, tired, and sick. There was a small crowded hut at the top and all I wanted to do was sit there, breathe in my oxygen can, and warm up. My fiance (well, boyfriend at the time!) went out to “explore,” and found the perfect spot at the edge of the crater, looking down over a sea of clouds and the rising sun. He came back for me and had to do some heavy convincing to get me out of that hut! I kept telling him to go without me, I just wanted to rest, but he finally got me out to that perfect spot that seemed like it was the top of the world. We just stood there with his arms around me and he started saying all these sweet things and then he popped down on one knee and asked me to marry him! I think I said something along the lines of “Of course I will!”. I think it was the perfect way to propose and it will be an awesome story for life! And kudos to him for getting down on bended knee in crazy sharp volcanic rocks! The ring is awesome too because it was custom made in Japan, so now we will always be connected to the place we got engaged… and I can pretty much guarantee that no one has the same one!
We had been planning a cruise for quite some time as a get away from work/everything. One of the cruise ports was Mexico, I was bummed because an excursion I had booked for us fell through. So he went and found us a spot on the last excursion available, which he told me was some boat ride. He must of grabbed the info for the dinkiest looking excursion cause this just bummed me out more that this was all we could find.
When the car dropped us off at the port we were supposed to board the boat at, it wasn’t some little fishing boat, but a *huge* catamaran. I was really confused why no one else was there yet and the captain told us that we were a few hours early and offered to give us a spin on the boat before the excursion. I was very excited.
On the way back from our “free trip” as the sun was setting, he got down on one knee and proposed. I was shaking and crying so bad he was nervous the ring might fall off me. In the end I had found out he had put the whole thing together from the start. Even my initial excursion falling through, he had gone to the concierge, canceled the excursion and had told them to call me that it had been canceled! So sweet and I totally wasn’t expecting it!
I had just come home from an afternoon with friends and when I walked into my bedroom, there were super cute red heels and a note that said “Wear the shoes and a dress. Be ready by 4:30, someone will pick you up. Get ready for an exciting night!” I quickly got ready and my doorbell rang promptly at 4:30. It was one of my girlfriends, she told me she would be taking me somewhere but was not allowed to say where. She took me to the place where we had our 1st date and to my surprise another girlfriend was there with a sweet note and a box. Inside the box was an ice cream (what I had on our 1st date). She gave me the note which instructed me to go to the place where he told me he loved me. We went there and another girlfriend met me with a note and another box that had a shaker from a football game we had gone to on the day he told me he loved me. The next note instructed me to go to the place where we 1st met. We went there and of course another note and another box. Inside this box a cute little story he had created about our relationship. At the end of the story, it said he could not wait to see me and would see my soon. I’m starting to get emotional at this point. My girlfriend then took me to a wildlife preservation area (it was dark by this time) and there he was! He led me down around a pond lit by tiny lights to a bench where he prayed for our relationship, then led me into a dark field. All of a sudden a gorgeous chandelier hanging from an oak tree came on (YES! A chandelier! I melted. It was beautiful!) and he asked me to marry him on one knee. He stood up, placed the ring on my finger (the he custom designed for me!) and out of nowhere (remember we’re in the woods) one of our favorite songs started playing. We danced as I cried my eyes out. It was perfect.
My fiance proposed on Valentine’s Day 2008, at the top of the Empire State Building. I was so stunned I couldn’t respond, and actually for some reason knelt down next to my fiance while he was proposing. The whole proposal is a blur to me, I think I was actually in shock! This would’ve really come in handy that night!
But we would LOVE it!
My FI proposed at Forest Park in St. Louis MO - its the 2nd largest part in the US, next to Central Park. We ate at the restaurant they have (that sits right on a pond) then we took a paddle boat to where some fountains are. I thought we were taking a rest, but he proposed instead!
After almost 4 years of long distance dating. I was in the midst of boxes, packing and changing jobs when Stephen informed me that we needed to get away for the weekend. Drop everything before the big move and spend some quality time together. Being so overwhelmed with the move and changing jobs, I didn’t mind that he was going to plan the trip.
Early on Saturday morning Stephen woke me up, gave me time to shower and pack and then asked me to go ahead and get in his car. He promplty gave me a pillow, blanket and asked me to wear a blindfold. Our destination was a surprise. Not being a moring person, this request didn’t bother me at all.
When I woke up to Stephen asking me to take off the blindfold we were in front of the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta! This was really a surprise, but we had been talking about going to visit the new aquarium and World of Coke for a long time.
We spent the day in the amazing World of Coke and at the Aquarium. Then returned to our room at the Omni Hotel with the most phenomenal view overlooking Olympic Centennial Park! That night we got all dressed up, I was expecting the proposal at or after dinner. I figured that if he was ready, tonight was surely the night.
We had a late dinner at McCormick & Schmits, but no proposal. Stephen turned down a late walk in the park to turn in. Afterall we’d left home around 6AM! I was kinda disappointed and had trouble sleeping.
Early the next morning he got ready before waking me up, then woke me and asked me to get in the shower and get ready for the day. When I got out of the shower and got dressed, he was gone. He’d left a note asking me to meet him in the lobby at 8:15AM. He was there with our new picnic basket and breakfast!
We went out in the park and found a perfect spot on a beautifully cool Sunday morning. Breakfast was soo nice, and the park was peaceful. After breakfast, we were cleaning up our picnic, when Stephen mentioned that his leg was going to sleep. So he stood up, then he pulled me up with him. As soon as he looked in my eyes, I knew this was the moment.
He began trying to describe some of his feelings for me and reminded me of how great we are together and how far we have come. Before I knew it, he dropped to one knee and looked up at me. From his pocket came the most beautiful three-stone platinum ring. Of course, I busted into tears before I could say YES! He says that I did say YES…but a few minutes later I had to ask to make sure.
The best part for me, was him describing that my ring didn’t represent Past, Present and Future to him. He told me, “It means FAITH-HOPE-LOVE, to me. The bible says that of Faith, Hope and Love, Love is the greatest of these but you shouldn’t have one with out the others, that’s why I got three.”
We immediately started looking for someone to take our picture. An excited jogger offered to take the picture, but didn’t want us to take a regular picture, he told Stephen, “Man you just asked her to marry you, get back down on your knee!” So he did, that’s how we the great picture of him proposing.
We also went and found the plaque that we took our picture infront of the first day we met in Atlanta. Stephen had planned to bring me back to the place that we first met and I hadn’t even realized that or made the connection.
We spent the 4 hour drive home trying to call our families! That night, life was back to normal, Stephen had to leave and drive 4 more hours back to his house. We’d been long distance for over three years, we knew that even with the engagement we’d still have to be a bit more patient until we can finally be TOGETHER!
My fiance proposed in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. He was completely stressed out about getting the engagement ring through airport security and customs! He was paranoid because there had been a news story only days earlier about a man who had to propose to his girlfriend at our local airport because the security officials accidentally pulled out the ring while going through his bag. Luckily, we passed through ok! However, the first night there, we were just too exhausted from traveling to even gather the strength to leave our hotel room. Of course, he had informed my parents that he was planning on proposing the first night of our vacation. So, they were a tad bit concerned when they didn’t hear from us!
However, the next evening at sunset, he took me out to the beach promising that we’d catch sunset before heading out to dinner. Little did I know! Right before the sun dipped below the horizon, he said, “I’m going to distract you for a minute.” He then pulled out the ring and dropped to the sand below. I was completely surprised. My parents were beyond delighted to get a phone call later that night to hear the news since they had been concerned that they hadn’t heard anything the night before!
My husband proposed to me under the moonlight on a beach. He didn’t offer a ring (he hadn’t bought one yet), but he did offer his heart, which was really all I ever wanted anyway.
Sidebar: I have been with my fiance for 5 years and have only seen him cry once and that’s when we had to put our dog down. He’s not the wine and dine you type of guy but that’s why I love him. All the little gestures mean more to me than a dozen roses. ALSO I’ve been addicted to HBO’s new series True Blood based off of the Sookie Stackhouse novels that I’ve been reading. Now on with the story…
12/25/09 was the first Christmas D and I have spent together in over 5 and half years of being together. Most, if not all my family lives out of state so I’m out of town every holiday. We both for some reason woke up around 7am wished each other and the dogs a Merry Christmas. D said “this is the first time we’ve ever spent a Christmas together,” and I said “yeah but it just feels like another day.” He asked me to make coffee and he was pretty persistent. I was so adamant since it was 7 in the morning and I was up way too early. After so many coffee requests I finally got up to go to the kitchen.
As I was making coffee and putting dishes away I could hear D ask our dogs “Okay are you guys ready?”. He said “I have another surprise for you.” I smiled and said “Thanks dude, I knew you would get me the last Sookie Stackhouse book.” He said “Nope,” and he started to tear up and pulled his hand out with a little wooden box. “Merry Christmas….I love you.” I don’t remember what was said through all my tears and sobs and I think he must’ve asked me like 7 times “Will you marry me.” Before I finally answered “Yes.” I had no makeup on, I didn’t brush my hair or teeth, and we didn’t have to get dressed up. He didn’t have to take me on a trip or fancy dinner but this is my idea of the perfect engagement/christmas present. For the record D did get down on one knee and this was the second time I’ve ever seen him cry.
I went to visit Gentry one weekend where he lived in Alabama one weekend. I had a hunch he might be proposing because he kept mentioning how excited he was about my visit. Despite it raining, we went to go hike at a local park surrounding this lake. While overlooking the lake, he bent down on one knee and popped the question. I was so happy, I hardly remember what he said. We then went to the car and began calling and texting all our friends and family with the good news.
My fiance planned a surprise weekend away and my only hint was “The First President Bush”. I was busy at work and didn’t have time to research what that meant, so I just forgot about it.
As we were packing to leave, Jon was ridiculous. Asking if things matched, wondering what to pack etc..and this is a guy that traveled 85% of the time for his old job. He’s packed HUNDREDS of times. But still, I didn’t think anything of it.
That first night, we went out to dinner and on the way into the restaurant, I reached for his hand because of the bumpy pavement and my stiletto boots. He took a giant step away thinking I was reaching for his pocket.
At dinner a piano player started playing random songs and then started playing Journey!! I had just sung Journey karaoke in a bar on Nantucket and we had gone to the concert…they’re my favorite band! Jon was going to wait to dessert, but he couldn’t pass up the opportunity. He got down on one knee (at which point I asked what he was doing down there) and asked me to marry him :o)
And I said yes!!
We had just finished a delicious homemade dinner - it was the first spring day warm enough to grill out - after having spent a beautiful day playing outdoors and enjoying the lovely weather of that Sunday afternoon. He said he couldn’t resist following his heart at that moment, so he got the ring out of its secret hiding place and proposed to me in our dining room.
So my fiance was in FL for business and I came in for a few days to join him. I got in to Ft Lauderdale and he picked me up and we went right to the hotel and had a drink. He drank it so fast, I was like, what the heck. He said he was thirsty. Then he said he had to make a call to a business associate to check in and then we could enjoy the rest of the night. He walked off for a minute and then came back and said we should take a walk on the beach. We were out there and he was commenting on how much litter there was on the beach. Then I looked down and saw something buried in the sand…looked like a bottle with a message in it. So I told him to pick it up. And he said, :no, you pick it up”. So I did and I started opening it and was kind of freaking out! When I opened it, it said, “Look into my eyes, Jennifer” I was still kind of in shock, but when I looked at him, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! Of course, I said YES! And the rest is history.
So as it turned out, the call he made earlier was to the hotel manager, who planted the bottle in the sand. And he had hired a calligrapher to write the message he put in the bottle.
So that’s the story. AND, as of the day prior, I no longer have to eat gluten free! So we had a really nice dinner of Italian food and tons of bread!!! YUM!
scavenger hunt in new york (where we first met) culminating in dinner at the restaurant where we had our first date. very romantic! ![]()
Our proposal story is simple and sweet. We live down the street from the Boston Public Gardens and so before dinner at our favorite restaurant we went for a walk in the Garden. There was a man playing the accordion on the bridge and the paths through the garden were lit only by several street lamps, and it was a very romantic and quiet atmosphere. Next to the lagoon in the glow of the street lamp, he got down on one knee, pulled a ring box out of his pocket, and asked me to marry him.
We live together in Tennessee but I’m originally from New York, so I spend a lot of time flying back to NY for holidays and other celebrations. My brother and sister-in-law were having their second baby just after New Year’s, so I took an extra long Christmas break in order to be with my family for Christmas, New Year’s, and for the baby to be born. The downside of this would mean all of those special days would be spent without my boyfriend, since he was staying home to be with his family.
He suggested that we go out dinner before I left so that we could celebrate the holidays early. We arrived at the restaurant (our favorite) and I noticed they happened to be playing some great music - a lot of my favorites that you don’t normally hear out and about. We were chatting about random things when he told me that although we agreed we wouldn’t exhange presents, he had something for me. My “is this a proposal” antenna went up as he reached in his jacket and pulled out . . .
A plane ticket. He bought a plane ticket so that he could be with me and my family for New Year’s and the new baby. It was very sweet and my suspicions about this being a proposal dinner were gone.
After our appetizer he told me there was another reason he bought that plane ticket. I think I responded, “What? For the miles?” when he reached in his jacket again, pulled out a ring box, got down on one knee and proposed!
It was a fabulous night and it turns out he elaborately planned the whole thing, including bringing a CD of my favorite songs to be played at the restaurant and using the plane ticket as a decoy. It still feels unreal!
My FH proposed on the steps of the Brooklyn Museum, where we’d had one of our first dates three years earlier. On that date, it was a hot summer night and we’d sat on the steps talking for hours and watching kids play in the fountain. The night he proposed, it was November and windy and cold. I suspected something was up when he suggested we sit out on the steps… we sat there shivering for a good 10 minutes before he got up the nerve to ask me!
My French FH and I were living in Paris, and my visa was about to run out! We had discussed marriage extensively, but were unsure, being so young and unprepared financially. Just when I thought that returning to the US was inevitable, he surprised me as we walked home from dinner on the champs-elysees with a ring (a temporary one) and asked me to marry him. I was so shocked/excited that I couldn’t speak in French nor English! We had a small civil ceremony in France, and are now so excited to celebrate with the rest of my family in the US this summer.
My fiance is a terrible keeper of secrets so I was sure he wouldn’t be able to surprise me with a proposal. To my amazement he actually succeeded! One Saturday, after we ended our weekly flag football game (yes, we were on a flag football team which is how we started to date in the first place), we were pretty sweaty and gross. We decided to cool down in my neighborhood pool. It’s only a couple blocks away, but I was tired, and I wanted to drive =P but my fiance insisted on walking. So, we grabbed our towels and started walking. We’ve walked down this path a million times, as it’s the same path we take when we walk my dog. We were nearing the pool when all of a sudden, my fiance dropped our towels, and got on one knee. He told me he loved me and asked me to be his wife. Afterwards, I found out that he had met with my parents that same morning and received their blessing…all without me knowing…truly an amazing accomplishment for him =)
My fiance was preparing a romantic proposal, but when our apartment caught fire and was destroyed, he spontaneously proposed to me in front of the burning building. He knew he couldn’t hold it in, and after seeing all of our belongings destroyed, he just needed to know we had each other. I still get chills just thinking about that night… it might not have been a romantic proposal, but it was intense and honest… we realized as long as we had each other, we were truly home.
We went on a cruise October 2007. I had just gotten out of the shower and came out of the bathroom in a towel and he was just sitting on the bed staring at me. I asked what was wrong and he held out his arms and told me how much he loved me. I sat in his lap and gave him a hug and the next thing I knew he was asking me to be his wife! He wanted to do it at the formal dinner so everyone could see but he was having nightmares that i would say no (like that could happen!) so he did it when it was just the 2 of us - so sweet!
After we told our friends, they commented on the great story we could tell our grandkids about me being naked when he proposed ![]()
We were in Big Bear, CA for a little mini-vacation and the first morning there we were getting ready to go snowboarding. It was my first time doing so, so FI was getting the board all ready for me. He stood behind me and told me to close my eyes and gently pushed me forward to see which foot I normally step out with. He did this a few more times and then, finally he put his arms around me, told me to open my eyes, and asked me to marry him.
Of course I said yes! He told me that he wanted me to be his fiancee for the first time I went snowboarding.

I have one of these and they are awesome! Fit right in my pocket. I love having the video option sometimes. I highly recommend this product!
Thanks,

Mine didn’t really do anything special to propose, we decided together, picked out the ring, and then he just asked/gave me the ring one day when we were sitting on the couch watching tv.
We had a fabulous dinner at La Grenouille, and then headed to Top of the Rock. (Luckily the ring didn’t set off the metal detectors!) As I was happily taking pictures of the NYC night skyline, he told me “I have another surprise for you” and proposed!
My husband proposed on a beach during sunset. However, I was not able to see the sun as the day was dreary and cloudy. I was wondering why he wanted to take me to a freezing cold beach and I totally complained about going. ![]()
On the second day of my family trip to Jamaica, we went on our only dinner alone as a couple for the vacation. Dinner was lovely and on the way back to the villa everyone was staying in, we took a detour to relax at a nearby gazebo (after some coaxing since I wanted to go back to the villa since my heels hurt). While sitting looking at the water, enjoying the evening, and chatting about the fun we have had, I turned my head to find my FI on his knee (which had gotten sunburned earlier that day!) with a beautiful ring asking me to be happy with him together for the rest of our lives. It was perfect!
I had to go away for a week to see my family last June. My grandfather had been battling cancer, and I wanted to make sure to see him at least one last time. My fiance missed me so much that he called his mother while I was gone and told her he wanted to propose. He mentioned that I didn’t want diamonds, and so she suggested her mother’s engangement ring - a beautiful amythest filligree ring from 1932. A few days after I got back, she sent him a package of (obviously used, Christmas) oven mitts and an old, broken barometer. He opened it in the car on the way home from work. I thought it was weird, but was too busy driving and telling him how much *I* missed him, and how much in love with him *I* was, how I thought I was the luckiest girl in the whole world to have found my soul mate, etc etc, gush gush.
Cut to our living room - he pulls another box out of the big box and opened it to reveal the beautiful antique ring! He told me has was going to wait for a special moment, but just couldn’t wait any longer. Especially after I had gone on and on in the car about my love for him. haha!
And of course I said yes!
I was at work and it was our 5 year anniversary. He had just moved an hour and a half away for work a few months ago so I wasn’t planning on seeing him since it was a Tuesday and had work the next day.
It started out with a beautiful arrangement of 2 dozen long stemed red roses complete with balloons delivered to my desk. I was so surprised and blushed all day. I knew I had to see him now!..fast forward to the end of the day. its 5pm and I’m getting ready to leave to go see my baby!
Next thing I know, I turn around my aunt (who works with me) has a big ol’ smile on her face and tells me he’s here. I see him and he says “Hi baby” I turn red and feel the little butterflies go pitter patter in my tummy.
he gets on one knee and tells me how much he loves me and I’ve always been there for him through it all. he asks me to be his wife and of course i say yes! he tells me since i wanted to pick out my own ring he got me this and whips out a box with…a key chain in it..
I’m thinking to myself ughh..a key chain? i mean, i know you work at a car dealership..but a key chain? okay…thannksss baby.
“I have one more surprise for you” leads me and my auntie is following us outside down the stairs to the lot. At this point I’m so confused and all of a sudden I hear my auntie go..”You got her a car?!?!?!?” and I go “YOU GOT ME A CAR!!!???”
Whattt??? is this really happening? I’m jumping up and down and hugging and kissing him and suddenly realize..ohhhhh that’s what the key chain is for!! … the keys to my new car!!! =)
The story of our engagement starts on Valentines day two years ago. Valentines day happened to fall on a Wednesday, the same day a local Irish Pub had a magician come every week to do table magic. We went to see the magician and he came over to our table to do a few card tricks, one of them ending with him fusing together two cards that had our names on them. Fast forward to a Wednesday last August when Chris picks me up at a bookstore near our home and suggests we go to this Irish Pub for dinner. “Maybe the magician will be there,” I say. I didn’t know at the time that the magician had not preformed weekly at the Pub for a year. But he was there when we arrived and came right over to are table to do some magic. At the end of his little show he said he was going to show us a new trick he had been working on that no one else had seen yet. He had me pick a card out of the deck (it just happened to be the ace of hearts). Chris wrote his name at the top and I wrote my name on the bottom so the card now read Chris <3’s Emily. He put the card back in the deck and made it reappear face up on our table. He then gave me a marker and told me to wave it over the card to see Chris’s innermost thoughts. When I flipped the card over it said “Will you Marry me?” I looked over and Chris was down on one knee. I was so shocked I said, “are you serious” three times before I said yes. Chris tracked down the magician from our fist Valentines Day and had him make up a trick especially for us!
I actually proposed to my fiance, technically. We were lying in bed together, when I slid a jelly ring (jelly bracelet material) onto my finger, and asked if he liked how it looked until we got a real one.
Then, that Christmas (the year before last), I was preparing dinner and talking to him with my back to him. He wasn’t responding to anything I said, so I turned around, and he was wordlessly holding a ring box out to me with both hands.
My fiance proposed to me one night while I was taking a bubblebath. It was fabulously wonderful, and somewhat shocking at the same time! I wasn’t feeling good (and hadn’t been all week) so to feel better I went upstairs to relax by the candlelight and enjoy the pleasure of a bath. I am in college, so the few times I’m home I like to indulge where there are actual bathtubs…anyway, here I am soaking in the bubbles and my Sean comes upstairs and sits next to the tub and just gives me the sweetest look. He then starts off by saying how much he loves me and how he was sitting downstairs and just couldn’t wait another minute to propose to me, even though he didn’t have a ring. For about ten minutes he promised me the world and more…I wish I had it all recorded so I can hold him to them later.
That night was one of the most special nights of my life.
Finally, I got to say yes…and I did so without hesitation! We stayed up very late making plans and trying to set a date. I wound up being so excited I couldn’t sleep until 6am the next morning!
I recently made a save-the-date video, which is posted on my blog. Pretty awesome!
5.31.08: my thoughtful Justin took me out to dinner, on the last nite in “his town” before he moved in with me, to the very first restaurant he had taken me to, after dinner on our way to HIS going away party, he pulled me into a park, we sat down on a bench, he pulled a photo book out of his pocket of moments we had shared together subtitled with the word to our song. The last page of the book read “will you marry me?” I looked up and he was on one knee in front of the bench. Of course I said YES. When we finally arrived at HIS going away party, he surprised me by having ALL my family there from hundreds of miles away. He knew such an important day would mean so much to be able to share it with my family. We will be married in 99 short days from NOW!
My fiance proposed on July 19. We started out the day with jet skiing on the lake since I had never done that before. Then for dinner he cooked me a picnic on the beach and we watched the sunset. As the sun was setting he told me “there was only one thing he would change about our relationship.” then he pulled out the ring and opened the box and asked me to marry him. I of course said yes and we have been planning a wedding for next may 29
I had just spent the past four months in London studying, and the entire time I was gone he wrote me letters. He was there to pick me up at the airport and after he used the jaws of life to pry me off of him he told me that he had my last letter and that he hadn’t sent it because it wouldn’t have made it to me before I left for home. I didn’t want to read it, I just wanted to hold him, but finally he made me read it, and when I was finished he pulled out a ring box, got down on one knee, and asked me to be his wife ![]()
My fiance’ made a special dinner and a “Will You Marry Me?” cake. He posed the ring on a fork!
he proposed scavenger hunt style in our new home! it had a baseball analogy and needless to say, home base was when he presented me with the rock. i completely forget what the little notes said, but i said yes anyway!
He proposed at the park we went to on our first date. He had the ring in his pocket the whole time and was paranoid I would find out.
Aww I love reading these! What a fun idea!
The decision to go to San Francisco over Easter break last year was an easy one. The midwest was still shaking off the last of winter and the thought of going somewhere warmer held instant appeal. We had discussed taking a boat ride in the bay, and settled on sailing on the Adventure Cat. They offer a sunset cruise through the bay and under the Golden Gate Bridge, which seemed a perfect start to our San Francisco adventure.
Late afternoon found us at Pier 39, watching the sea lions, waiting to board the boat. After sailing around Alcatraz, all we could see was the Golden Gate Bridge drawing nearer and the open expanse of the Pacific beyond. As we sailed closer and closer to the bridge, he gathered his courage and started telling me all the sweet things a girl wants to hear. Next thing I know he went down on one knee, asking me to be his wife. Trying not to cry, I (OF COURSE!) said “YES!”. ![]()
proposed with a surprise cinderrella carriage ride near the san diego bay
He was on one knee and trying to catch his breath. I could not believe it. When we first started dating, he arranged for a private tour of the Bytown Museum with the museum’s director after hours because I wanted to hunt for ghosts. That was the same night that we fell in love with each other.
“This is how I’ve always wanted to propose to you because this is where we fell in love. I love you so much and can’t imagine myself with anyone other than you. I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I want you to be my wife, will you marry me?”
Before we started dating Mr. Popcorn worked for a congressman for Hawaii and often had to travel there for work (I know…hard job right?). He completely fell in love with the place and said multiple times that he would take me to Hawaii. I wasn’t complaining! Dec. 26, 2009 we left for our trip. We both knew he was going to propose but I didn’t know how. The entire trip he carried around the ring in a locked pocket of his bookbag. At first I thought every possible romantic moment would be it…. but he kept saying “I have a plan.” Finally, on our second day in Maui, (Jan 2nd), after I got ready to go to a whaling town to site-see he handed me an envelope. I instantly knew it was “THE PLAN!” He had set up a scavenger hunt to special places all over the island. For a few months before we left he had called museums, a florist, a train station, etc. and mailed them all clues. We had to go and visit each place and I ‘d pick up the clue, and we’d then tour/eat/visit etc. It wasn’t until 6 hours later on the beach at sunset when he finally got down on one knee and asked the question!!
I told him that I wanted a story and he wanted a quiet, beach proposal. This was his excellent, romantic combination of both. He’s the best!
We went to dinner and then back to my house to watch a movie. The movie was actually a timeline and photo montage of our relationship together leading up to June 30th (the day he proposed) and on June 30th the words on the screen said “The day I asked you to be mine forever”. He got up from the couch and ran to the kitchen to grab the ring and a dozen roses and knelt down and asked. I of course said yes and we went out on the deck and found my entire family there cheering. At our wedding we showed the video and there was not a dry eye in the place! It was almost TOO romantic!
He surprised me on our 2 year and 1 month anniversary. It was snowing outside and he took me to my favorite restaurant. I should have realized something was up. His dad gave me a hug that morning, which was a little unusual. Anyways, after dinner we were driving out to my house when he suddenly declared he wanted to go swing at the park. This is normal. lol. I went along with it, even though it was snowing inches outside. We played for a while, like little kids, and then he ran to a tree trunk on the edge of a frozen river running through the park. I followed and literally ran into him as he stopped, turned around, and got down on one knee.!!!! I loved it! It was playful and fun, and I couldn’t stop crying and jumping up and down, which is what I do when I get excited. ![]()
We’ve been together for a decade. We just sort of “knew.” It became official when we planned our engagement party.
Well… we sort of surprise-proposed to each other! He told me he was ready and he had the ring, but that he didn’t want to pressure me and I should take my time until I was sure (aww). A little while later I finally “knew” and then I couldn’t wait to make it happen! The day after Valentine’s Day (we live in different cities, so that was Valentine’s Day for us) I gave him a card with pictures of us and the words “Ask Me.” I expected him to then go plan a proposal, but instead he said “what, right now?” and I said “whenever you want” so he said “will you marry me?” and that was that. I think we were in our pajamas!
We were walking the dog on Christmas Eve before dinner at his parents’ house and we walked by this house that had an amazing light display and stopped to look.
In the front yard of the house was a sign made in Christmas lights, asking me to marry him.
His brother, sister, and best friend had coordinated with a neighbor to get the sign up and lit right as we walked by.
It was adorable. ![]()
My fiance took me to the most beautiful, peaceful, and exquisite place located on Santa Monica Blvd in Los Angeles. We walked around the grounds and enjoyed the reverence and beauty that surrounded us. It was a warm July evening and just as he began to tell me why he had brought me there a lightening storm appeared. We stood in amazement as we watched the sky light up. He turned to me and said. “I want you to know I love you, I’m IN love with you and I want to spend forever with you.” He got down on one knee and asked me if I’d marry him!
I was studying abroad and teaching in Germany for 3 weeks. Luckily for the internet my fiance and I were able to communicate almost daily. The entire time I was there he kept saying, “we should go to dinner.” As we have been in a long distance relationship for almost 4 years now, this wasn’t that unusual. One night I was riding my bike back to my apartment and as I came around the corner I saw a many that looked much like MY man. I did several double takes until I realized that it WAS MY MAN! My first words were “what the heck are you doing here!?” Romantic right, he traveled halfway across the world to see me and that was all that I could say. Somehow he managed to keep his cool and helped me into my apartment and once we were in, I kept saying “I don’t know what to say, I don’t know what to say” to which he replied, “say yes.” As I turned around or looked down or at him (I was so surprised and my mind was everywhere, as you could imagine) he was on one knee and had a ring. And the rest is history.
The full story is on our website if you want all the details. His travel stories are quite amazing and it is a miracle that he even found me, but I am so glad he did!
…we had won an engagement photo session, but we were not formally engaged yet. He was saving, and had me fooled that he was struggling in that department. When it came time for the session, he said he was disappointed and a little embarrassed that he didn’t have a ring and I told him it didn’t matter ~we knew~ and That was all that mattered. Little did I know he was scheming behind my back with the photographers. Towards the end of the shoot, he asked me to read a poem he’d written, and as I did he got on his knee, and then proposed. It was perfect and romantic and truly a surprise! You can see some of our pics on their website:

Once you’re on the page, click “More Galleries”, scroll to the right, and we are ‘Michael and Rebekah’. He had the ring made, and it is perfectly me. There is symbolism to the design, but he won’t tell me till we exchange vows~ another surprise!
My FH pulled me over to the side of the sidewalk in Cancun where we over looked the ocean and asked me right then to spend the rest of our lives together. When we came home and told my son who was 3 at the time he was excited that “we were all getting married”. He is still excited that the three of us will be married together, buy a home and dog.
FI and I went into Philly Chinatown to eat at our favorite noodle house. As we approached the corner where it was located, I flipped out because it was no longer the same restaurant! I turned around and FI was on bended knee on the street corner proposing
We ended up eating elsewhere. And I don’t thing that restaurant is there in Chinatown anymore either.
On the way to Thanksgiving dinner at my parents house, he said he wanted to stop by the beach to check out the waves. He’s a surfer, so I didn’t think anything of it. While we’re standing on the beach, he says, “Look, there’s a seashell.” As I go over to pick up the seashell, I find that there is cotton stuffed into it. I’m trying to take the cotton out when I notice him on the ground, writing, “Will you marry me?” on the sand. He took the shell from me and pulled out the ring and proposed. When we got back to my parents’ house, not only was my family there, but so was his entire family. Best Thanksgiving ever!
This past summer he took me to where we had our first date and when we got back to the car he pulled out a bag and inside was a silver frame with a picture of us from six years ago when we first met and a recent picture. The frame was engraved with “will you marry me?” I looked up and he had the ring out. I was very surprised since I thought we were going out to celebrate the summer semester being over.
After I finished my first set of medical boards, my fiance decided to surprise me with a weekend trip to our college town to enjoy our favorite foods and beverages. After a beautiful walk around campus, we found ourselves at our favorite spot, a beautiful building with a bell tower – Old Main.
Sitting on the steps, talking about life and our future together, my fiance began teasing me, saying that it would have been a great day to propose. Slightly sensitive to this subject, I asked him to stop joking about something so important to me. At this, he asked if I would like to practice getting engaged, and even joked that he had brought a practice ring with him! Upset, I turned to him to explain that I did NOT think it was funny… and there he was, smiling - because he knew he had really surprised me - with a beautiful, and very real ring in hand.
On one knee, he asked if I would marry him, and through tears of joy I said yes! As we hugged, Old Main chimed ‘Hail to the Lion’ -our college fight song- as the hour struck seven (really, this actually happened). And the rest is history…

The last Xmas present my fiance gave me contained my ring! I knew it was going to happen, but I still wasn’t prepared for how happy it made me feel when he shyly asked: “Will you marry me, baby?”
Well, I hope this counts: my fiance didn’t propose to me. I proposed to HIM! I’ve always taking the first step in our relationship: initiated the first kiss, said “I love you first” etc. We’d been tossing around the idea of getting married for a few months, and I didn’t want to wait for him to get around to asking me–so when we were visiting his grandparents in Florida, we went for a walk on the beach on evening, and I just asked him ![]()
My honey proposed by setting up a congrats on getting into dental school dinner with the two of us and his future dentist friend and gf. Well, at the last minute, friend cancelled. It was all a ruse because at the fancy restuarant we got a free dessert which was told me I had a special decision to make. In the end, he proposed and afterwards he held a surprise engagement party with a group of our close friends that same night!
Nate proposed along the water on the Embarcadero in San Francisco, the city we both call home. We were right next to a huge statue of a bow and arrow called “Cupid’s Span” when he told me all those sweet things guys say when they have the ring hidden away then he asked me to marry him.
After screaming “shut up!!” I said yes. I was very classy. ![]()
he proposed at his apartment. we were originally going to go out to a fancy italian restuarant, but i told him i wasn’t in the mood for going out (i had no idea he was planning on proposing). the funny part is that his pants fell off when he was getting up from being on his knees!!! i guess it’s my fault because he had been getting ready to go to the restaurant but when i said i’d rather stay home he didn’t finish putting on his belt! sooooo funny.
Tim went out of town for a few days, to Harrisburg, for a training class. When he returned he walked in the door, hugged me, kissed me and took my hand into the kitchen. He opened up the filing cabinet and when he turned around he got down on one knee and said “will you marry me?” I didn’t know that I would react like I did and I was so caught up in the moment that I forgot to answer and he finally said “You haven’t answered yet.” I said yes and then he proceeded to tell me that my parents said hello and my nephews ceiling has stars on it. He didn’t go to Harrisburg at all. He flew to St. Louis to have lunch with my parents to get their blessing and dinner with my sister and her family to tell them. He had planned on waiting a few weeks to ask, but he says he was so overwhelmed when he saw me that he didn’t want to wait another minute!
It was last winter and I was home from work because we had a snow day. My fiance came home from work ran upstairs, changed, and came back downstairs saying that he had to leave to meet his brother. He told me to chec upstairs, that there was something on my bed for me. I went upstairs and found a box of chocolated with a note that said, “Check the guest room.” I went to the guest room and found a bottle of champagne with a note that said, “Check the basement.” I went to the basement and found my boyfriend down on one knee. He asked me to marry him and I was so shocked all that I could say was, “Are you serious?” I was so shocked, he had to ask me a second time before I said yes ![]()
He proposed to me on a christmas day after all the gifts were handed out. His present to me was the last one that i received. While i was opening it, he was kneeling down which i found strange. Then we i opened the box and saw the ring, he started proposing and i had no idea what he said coz i was in shock and my entire family (at least 30 of them) were all screaming (thank god they got it on video). His proposal is so perfect. He said he debated whether to do it in a helicopter ride, a fancy restaurant or skating. He ended up doing it on christmas day at home with our family because it’s more special to share that moment with the family who love us rather than strangers. He knew what i wanted and my heart still melts everytime i think of it.
