Mrs. Milkshake's Picture
Mrs. Milkshake, Seattle/Vancouver, BC Age and Occupation: 23, Pharmacist Fiance's Age and Occupation: 25, Pharmacist Engagement Date: May 2007 Wedding Date: August 2008 Blogging Since: December 6, 2007 Venue: Victorian Mansion About Me: Despite the fact that I’ve invested many long years of my life studying the sciences in college, I’m glad to be out of there and I would never do it again! I’m super artsy at heart - I run an indie craft site, I grew up shooting and developing my own film, doing jazz and ballet, and the whole gamut of art classes. I’ve been called a Jane of all Trades… but I was also told many years ago not to make my passion my career because it’d suck the fun out of it. Hence my choice of day job. We live in Seattle but are having our wedding in Canada to be fair to all our family and friends.
About Mrs. Milkshake

I volunteered to shoot my girlfriend’s wedding as a favor this summer, so this is the first of four free weddings that I’m shooting this spring in preparation for her wedding. The bride loves this song, and I figured that putting this together for her would turn out a lot more fun than a typical slideshow (despite its somewhat anti-wedding lyrics).

I had grand aspirations to make full use of all the beats and timing in the music, but in the end, got tired of fighting with my ghetto program, Windows Movie Maker, and just strung a bunch of images together that held some continuity at 0.25 seconds each. Most of them are unedited and raw out of the camera. It doesn’t showcase detail shots or any particularly fabulous images, but I think it’s fun, and it lends itself surprisingly well to Facebook, so she was able to tag all her friends and share it a lot more easily than a boring photo album! Enjoy!

My FI is a huge DM fan, and this song has been on every road trip playlist we’ve ever taken. As soon as I started the video I got a huge cheese smile! And a great new project idea for him to work on for our at home reception! What a great idea :) Thanks for sharing Milkshake!

The song is Enjoy the Silence by Depeche Mode :)

Holy Milkshake batman… why do I always have to spy what I want for my wedding in videos and things where I could never get a hold of the bride to find out where they got them lol. If anyone knows that bridesmaid dress that had the overlay, let me know!! It is at the 0:44 and 1:12 (jumping) second marks in the slide show!

Also, I *love* this concept of putting pictures together to make a “video slide show.” You are a talented, talented genius, Mrs. Milkshake. You most definitely are!

I loved that! I usually get bored with the typical slow slideshow, but that one was fantastic — I loved its fast tempo. Great work!
