Mrs. Martini's Picture
Mrs. Martini, New Jersey Age and Occupation: 30, Telecom by day, Superhero by night Fiance's Age and Occupation: 32, Investments & Finance by day, Hip hop dancer by night Engagement Date: May 24, 2008 Wedding Date: March, 2009 Blogging Since: August 18, 2008 Venue: The Venetian About Me: Things that make me happy: Haribo Happy Cola gummies, TV shows on DVD, buying books although I never read them, 80’s rock ballads, ramen, and of course Mr. Martini! He is the calm, logical and number crunching finance guy. I can’t even multiply double digit numbers in my head and I am so indecisive that trying to choose between light green or slightly lighter green paper stresses me out (Wedding planning is going to be soooo much fun). We both find great joy in nabbing great seats at the movie theater for a blockbuster movie on opening weekend, and we are both absolutely crazy about snowboarding. About Mrs. Martini

And the Winner Is…

March 16th, 2009 @ 5:41 pm by Mrs. Martini

My gosh, I really didn’t expect such awesome feedback from everyone about our signing board!!

Every time someone commented about one, I’d decide on that one. Then I’d get another comment about another picture and I’d change my mind and want to go with that one. As you can imagine, I was pretty confused for a while. I really did love all the pictures, and I honestly would have been happy with any of them. But alas, I was only allowed to choose one.

Some mentioned that for most signing boards, the actual picture would not be written on, and instead there would be a white matte border reserved for the well wishes. I quickly confirmed with our photographers and found out that the signatures would actually be written directly on the picture. This helped a lot with our decision, and in the end we decided to go with the majority vote - we chose picture number 5:

This picture would look awesome with signatures on the brick background. I have to admit I was actually surprised that so many chose this picture. I really loved what the picture captured, but I didn’t think it would be the one that would be preferred for a signing board. Reading your comments really made me see the picture in a different light. Thank you so much!

A couple of people asked where the photo was taken and why we were randomly dancing in front of a wall. It is actually a close up shot of this one:

This location is the Naumburg Bandshell, located in the middle of Central Park in NYC.

On the base of the stage there is engraved writing, and our photographers suggested using a portion of the engraving to take this shot:

The best part was that none of these shots were planned! We only passed by the bandshell while walking through Central Park. Our photographers, Matthew and Chung, stopped us once they saw it  and suggested taking a few pictures.

Did you get an awesome engagement shot that wasn’t planned?

that is odd that the signing board isn’t the white carboard matt board though…..I guess your photographers can charge you more for a much bigger print.

Aren’t unplanned shots the best? No worrying about them beforehand, and just an amazingly pleasant surprise after the fact!
