Bachelorette Party

March 17th, 2009 @ 2:46 pm by Mrs. Spring Roll

Up until a few weeks ago, I didn’t want to have a bachelorette party. You see, I’m the girl who is in bed before 10 every night. Going out isn’t usually my idea of fun; however, I decided that I might as well go out, and have a good time with the girls. Let’s just say that I had a good time, and then some.

The night started off at my sister’s house, where everyone met for food, drinks, and a Pleasure Party. Upon entry, each girl was given a “dog bone” (as one girl thought they were) lei, and big faux diamond rings.

My mom and FMIL with our blown-up friend, Big Willy

The Pleasure Party was a lot of fun. All of the girls had a blast as we tried several lotions,

had our arms massaged with soy candle wax and a heart shaped heat pad,

and tickled our noses with toys, as the hostess informed us to do.

Once the Pleasure Party wrapped up, we headed to Chili’s for drinks (sipped through penis straws, of course) and appetizers.

After we finished our 2-for-1 Chili’s drinks and appetizers, we headed to what ended up being my favorite part of the night: a drag queen/king show and dancing.

During the show, people tipped the performers; this meant the girls kept giving me money to bring up as well.

Although I am terrible, I love to dance, and did so into the wee hours.

In the end, I am really glad that I decided to have a party. It ended up being just what I needed: a stress free night.

What do you plan to do for your bachelorette party?

You’re braver than I am! I would be mortified if my mother and FMIL were holding that balloon! Eek, I’m freaking out just thinking about it.

I agree with cfitz621- I think I would have to move to Japan and break up with my fiance if my mother or FMIL had even seen a PHOTO of your cake. You must have a great relationship with them!

That is one fabulous bachelorette party!! I adore your cake and plan on showing it to my MOH to use as inspiration - the fact that there is a diamond wrapped around ‘it’ is just hilarious! I’m not a big going out with my honey kinda girl and not into strippers so I wasn’t sure what type of shindig would be best, but seeing your’s gives me great ideas and having a stress free evening with friends and fam before the big day sounds blissful. So much fun :)

How fun! :) My bridesmaids have planned a 3 day weekend to Wrightsville Beach! I can’t wait to have nothing to do but relax by the pool/ocean with my favorite ladies!

West Coast Groom and I are doing a partially joint stag-stagette night. We”re renting a party bus to cruise around for 2 hours with all the guys and girls and then splitting off for separate debauchery. I never go out anymore either, but I can tell that as the wedding gets closer and closer, I really will appreciate the stress free wild fun with my girlfriends!

I dunno what I am going to do, but I would die if my mom was ever involved. She would love it (she’s crazy like that) but oh the horrah! :)

It’ll probably just be me and my girls at a cowboy strip club. I’ve been dying for an excuse to go. hehe

Where in Tampa was this drag show?? How fun. And I agree with some of the other girls — I would DIE if my mother and FMIL saw that penis cake.

That sounds like so much fun! I will probably have a relatively tame bachelorette party, too. And I *love* drag shows. Good choice!

My best girlfriends will be joining me for a spa day at the Four Season where we will have poolside lunch, our own private luxury suite and our treatment of choice. I am so looking forward to a massage! Afterwards, we are all headed to my place for a slumber party complete with chick flicks (Father of the Bride will most definitely be on the list) and pizza! Can’t wait!

Oh there will be none of THAT at my party…not that I’m judging, your party looks like TONS of fun! But I think all of my guests (myself included) would be mortified to be physically next to any of your props!! (I’m a prude, I know…)

Looks like you had an absolute blast. I don’t know if I’ll have one, but this would be my ideal party, hang out with the girls, dinner, drinks and dancing. No strippers please!

Bachelorette Party Planning

Do’s and Dont’s in bachelorette party planning :

Don’t wait till the last minute to make your plans.
Do plan your event 2 months in advance.

Don’t drink heavily at the beginning of the night.
Do instruct your group to pace their drinking.

Don’t over indulge at dinner.
Do have a sensible meal.

Don’t be late for your plans.
Do set your start time an hour ahead of schedule.

Don’t allow your guests too much say in your plans.
Do instruct your guests that “this is what the bride wants”

Don’t assume planning a bachelorette party is like any other girls night out.
Do take into account that you are taking a large group around with you where ever you go.
