Quick and Easy Save the Dates

March 18th, 2009 @ 10:53 am by Mrs. Cheese

Back before I started obsessing over fonts and stressing over text, I threw together our Save the Dates in about 10 minutes. They’re not the most amazing, unusual, surprising, or unbelievable Save the Dates, but they are cute and they were quick. And cheap.

That’s the front, created by adding a single line of text to one of our engagement pictures.

And here’s the back.

I used VistaPrint and am very happy with the quality and price. I signed up for their email specials, and while they do spam you a bit (Daily emails? C’mon!), you can dig through them all to find the best deal when you’re ready to order. I only paid for shipping. Yup, I got 100 full color postcards for $12.00!

So there you go. You can, if you so desire (and have the skills) make fabulous Save the Dates, but if you lack either and have one great picture and 10 minutes, you can have happy ones.

i love them!!!!!! simple and clean but definitely still cute and full of character. i agree about VP - they send some good offers your way but MAN do they love to clog up the ole inbox!
shutterfly.com also has good specials but they only email you once or week - maybe less.

I love the casual, unlabored-ness of these! Just fun and easy! Love them!

That’s almost exactly what I did… for our invitations! I didn’t get *quite* as good a deal, since we also created a few rsvp cards and hotel information/directions cards for the older folk, but I was pretty proud of getting our entire invitation suite done for around $90.

These look great! I’m so addicted to handwriting fonts right now - Have you ever visited http://kevinandamanda.com/fonts/fontsforpeas/
You can turn your own handwriting into a font!

Miss Cheese, it’s great to have bees that remind us all of the value of doing things simply. Not EVERY aspect of wedding planning needs to be a saga of laboured decisions, negotiations or battles with a glue gun! I loooooove your save the dates. Very sweet, and all that’s needed at the end of the day.

They look great! Does Vista Print put their name or logo anywhere on the card when you use their deals? Mr. Ducky seems to think they do, but I’ve never heard of that.

I second West Coast Bride! It’s so nice to see something simple yet completely fabulous. I’ve gone back and forth over what to do for STDs and I think I want to just go the route you took. Easy-peasy!

Those are really cute! I love these because it shows how a simple, quick project can be just as awesome and effective as one that takes a lot of time. Great job!
