Wedding Site Visit

March 19th, 2009 @ 5:28 pm by Mrs. Apple Cider

Two weeks ago I was able to visit North Carolina and, of course, had to swing by the Blueberry Villa and Winery, where the wedding and reception will take place. I was a little nervous about heading there, as I had only been one time before, and the dead of winter can sometimes be tough in the mountains. I was pleasantly surprised by how amazingly beautiful the site was even in the dead of winter. I met with my florist for the first time (more on that to come) and met with the winery owner. My mom and one of my BMs, Morgann, came along.

I wanted to snap a picture of the gorgeous arbor that we plan to use. My mind is already a flutter thinking of ways to “snazz” it up. I don’t want to take away from the beautiful background, but definitely want to complement it.

Here are some pictures of ways that people have “naturally” decorated their arbors/arches:

Here is the “aisle” I will walk up to the ceremony.

I am so excited about how beautiful everything is going to be in the fall.

Are you planning on building/incorporating an arbor? What will it look like?

It is gorgeous, gorgeous! Wow. You’re right - there’s not too much that needs to be done to enhance the altar area.

This is so beautiful. I love your ceremony site. Ours was supposed to be redone this year–but that didn’t happen. We’re going to have this wooden teepee structure that’s already there. Not my fave, but we’ll find ways to dress it up.

Gah that arbor is beautiful!! I love the earthy feel of it, so much better than a white arbor!!

I wanted to use an arbor but I think it would really take away from the beauty around us!

Your notion of not taking away from, but rather complementing, the space is my exact atittude for our reception venue!
