Yep that’s right, I have my hair trial tomorrow!! And let me just tell ya, this trial has been a year in the making.
What do I mean? Well, here I am, circa spring 2008:*
And here is my hair today, on the first day of spring 2009:*
Yep. I am one of those short-haired girls who has been growing my hair out for the last year. And let me tell ya- it’s driving me crazy!!! You will be sure to see a post-wedding chop post from me very soon after the wedding. I might even dare to sneak it in before we leave for the honeymoon (three days after the wedding)!!!
While I have had a few haircuts along the way, it feels like my hair grows freakishly slow (I’ve even resorted to taking prenatal vitamins to speed up the process). To add to that, I have very thin, fine hair and not a lot of it, which means wearing it down is just not an option, unless I want ridiculously limp hair by the end of the night.
So an updo it is. Currently I am grappling with a soft and romantic look:

I think that these two pics are a good blend of both:
Oh, and I must add, I will be sporting fringe on my big day, and I hope to wear a flower in my hair (it is San Francisco, after all. Ha ha).
What do you think? Do you know how you are doing your hair on your big day? And maybe even more importantly, where did you find pictures for inspiration?

Great choices, but I’m partial to Michelle Williams’ hairstyle because that’s sort of the style that I’m going for. Have fun at the trial. Are you also getting your make up done as well?

I love your long hair!! I love all the up dos! I think the last one would look so hot on you, maybe because the hair is brown not blonde I don’t know, but I love the Michelle Williams too, ooh hard decision!
I’m also a short hair girl… and I can’t quite decide if I should grow it out or not. Since our wedding is in Aug I kinda need to decide now before I got in for my next hair cut :-/

I love the last photo, but I’m also really drawn to the one of Michelle Williams. And, I have to say, I really like your current cut, I think you actually look younger than your pic from last spring.

My ceremony is on a beach and I’m afraid it will fall out! But it HAS to be up, 1 it is going to be ot & humid and more importantly my fiance loves, lovs, LOVES my hair up. He’s a nut about it and would have me wear it up every day.

I would try Biotin, I’m taking it to try to get my hair to grow longer and thicker. It’s just a B vitamin, but it’s supposed to work well
I love number 2 & number 4, you look beautiful anyway you choose to wear it. I know too well the “growing out pain”, I did it a couple of years ago (bangs too). The soft romantic updo’s are my favorite look!

Those updos are all so pretty. I do like the last two because they are a good blend.
And I constantly go between short hair and growing my hair out. I think I’ve had my last extreme cut though (just got it cut to chin length)… I’ll have to spend the next year and a half until the wedding growing it back out.
And I totally can sympathize about the fine hair thing… down just won’t cut it for me all day long either.
I was in the same boat I am a short hair girl from way back and grew my hair out for a year before the wedding, I even took prenatal vitamins as well!
I have since cut all my hair off again and am back to my pixie self but the styles you are looking at are what I was wanting as well.

WOW I know its frustrating controlling urges to chop off all your locks - I’m actually going through the same thing right now… but your hair looks gorgeous!!! You look absolutely beautiful Miss Peep Toe! I think the romantic updo will be just that and so much more. I especially liked Pic#2 and Pic#5.
I just want to tell you what a gorgeous bone structure you have! Any look you wear, I’m sure you’ll rock it.
You’re my inspiration! My hair is almost exactly the same length as yours right now and I have the bangs up front too. I have about 17 months to grow it out. I too want to sport my bangs on the wedding day.
I lean more towards the soft romantic look because with fine thin hair I think it’s harder to get the sleek look because of all the flyaways. And I don’t want 10lbs of hairspray in my hair.
I havent’ starting to look at hair photos yet but I know what I want in the back. You know how like your hair is almost rolled up towards your crown at the base of your neck, the whole width of your neck? Then just two flowers tucked into the roll.
Let me knwo if you find any pictures of updos with the bangs up front!

I’ll be wearing my hair down, as that’s how I look every day, and I don’t want to be too far from that for my wedding pictures.

Hey, I agree. You are really pretty. Your Weddingbee picture doesn’t do you justice. I say, go with whatever hair makes those cheekbones pop.
Seriously, I agree with LPC. I hope that’s not an offensive thing to say, but you have a magnificent face and the hover cloud photo doesn’t do you justice! I think any hair-do would look good on that face!!! Girl, work that bone structure!
