Mrs. Bruschetta's Picture
Mrs. Bruschetta, Philadelphia Age and Occupation: 25, Communication Professional Fiance's Age and Occupation: 25, Physical Therapy Graduate Student Engagement Date: November 30, 2007 Wedding Date: August 2009 Venue: St. Thomas of Villanova Church & the F.U.E.L. House About Me: I’m a self-proclaimed grammar geek who loves singing (like, really belting it) in the car. My mister and I are planning a vibrant summer soiree celebrating our passions – including food and Philly – and when we make it official, we’ll have been together for eight years! Being super competitive is in my nature, and talking excessively is in my genes. I’ve got a terrible sense of direction, but can always easily find my way into Mr. Bruschetta’s arms.
About Mrs. Bruschetta

We snapped up our photographer (and bonus photographer!) mere months after getting engaged. So, it felt like an interminably long time until we reached the end of summer 2008, when we planned to take our engagement pictures.

I passed the months sinking deeply into a blogging addiction: Food, photographers, weddings. You name it, I read it! Inspired by great outfits, unique settings and fun props, I carefully planned out our session.

We began at Reading Terminal Market. On a weekday. During lunch. Chaotic doesn’t even get close to describing what that place was like! From the first click of the camera, people kept coming up to ask if we were famous. Ever the ham, I was surprised to find myself self-conscious and nervous in front of the lens. At times, my awkwardness translated into less than flattering photos — but we still ended up with a ton of great pictures we love!

(All pictures are from Cindy Patrick Photography. I also owe a special thank you to Mrs. Avocado, for patiently walking a very clueless Miss Bruschetta through the necessary steps to edit HTML and present such amazingly huge pictures to the hive!)

Okay, enough chatter for now. I’m going to let the pictures do the talking!

We left the market, and realizing I’d be donning a skirt soon, decided the time was right for a piggyback ride!

Anyone else shocked by how uncomfortable you were in front of the camera?

These are so great! LOVE the third one down where you both have your eyes closed and look all dreamy, and the last piggyback one :-)

I was nervous for our e-pics, too, and think that we both held back a bit, but it was great preparation for what to expect on the wedding day!

I was actually much more relaxed than I expected myself to be. Part of that was due to our great photographer, but the other part was probably (definitely) because no one else was around us. Crowded marketplace? I probably would have been way too shy to do.

we just did our e-shoot yesterday, and I was shocked at how uncomfortable I was and how comfortable the FI was! I’m the extrovert and he’s the introvert….I still can’t figure out what happened!!

We havn’t had ours yet, but I am feeling really nervous…I’m quite camera shy. I might have a glass of wine or too to calm my nerves!

GREAT photos Miss Bruschetta! :)
My fiancee and I aren’t shy in the least bit, but we definitely were nervous, anxious, awkward, you name it for at least the first 15 minutes of our engagement shoot.

@Mrs. Lovebird: Haha, is it that obvious? We’d had a crazy few days leading up to the engagement session, and it was actually the first time we’d been able to spend real quality time together in over a week!

Great pics! Cindy photographed my brother’s wedding recently. She was wonderful to work with (we hardly knew she was there!) and the pictures are amazing!

We’re doing ours in a few months and I’m fairly certain I’ll be freaking out —-I’m bringing a bottle of Jack for myself, don’t know what the boy is going to do-he’s on his own haha.

I was so nervous. We just did ours this weekend. I told myself and the photographer that I wanted candid shots but when it came to it it was hard to relax knowing that someone was watching you. And then the bystanders do it too since someone is taking your pictures. I hope ours come out just as good as yours.

Beautiful pictures! We were both nervous with the camera watching us while we tried to be natural! It just isn’t a normal situation. I’m hoping I will feel less nervous for the wedding pictures.

we were both pretty uncomfortable in front of the camera… we weren’t prepared, had no idea what kinds of photos or poses we wanted to have. Luckily, we had a 2-part e-shoot, so we did a lot better the second time around.
If I had to do it all over again, I would be prepared with photos I like and shots I wanted the photographer to get. And remember, when in doubt, KISS! We had a lot of pictures of us kissing, especially right after our photographer imparted that tidbit of wisdom.
