An Excuse to Drink Wine

March 24th, 2009 @ 12:35 pm by Mrs. Mascara

I saw these vases a little while ago after finding a new blog (well new to me, at least) called VintageGlam.

An Excuse to Drink Wine : wedding decor reception Wine Bo Here are a few reasons why I like them:

  1. They will work with simple flower arrangements (think 1-3 stems of one type of flower).
  2. The green ones would go perfectly with our color scheme.
  3. I can make them myself!
  4. It’s a way to recycle old wine bottles.
  5. They are made out of wine bottles… so it’s a good excuse to drink more wine!

I happen to love wine. I also happen to have a favorite wine that comes in a olive green wine bottle. Coincidence? I think not.

Are you recycling anything and incorporating it into your wedding decor?

We considered doing these, too!

We’re using old Ball Mason jars and possibly glasses from Pom tea (before they changed their packaging) with a ribbon wrapped around to cover the logo. The Pom glasses make lovely candleholders!

I couldn’t open the blog you linked. How do you make them? They are totally cute! I hope you write a how-to post on these:)

I love this idea! Miss D’Orsay posted a great step by step explanation, can’t wait to test it out.

We’re also considering doing these… we’re getting married at a winery, so it’s perfect :)

My FH and I are big big wine fans, but we don’t have time to accumulate and cut enough bottles before the wedding day. :( Those will look beautiful with your colors, though!

@driftslikesmoke: Try Craigslist - I’ve bought bottles there before, it was awesome(ly cheap).
