Surgery for the Bride

March 25th, 2009 @ 5:25 pm by Mrs. Apple Cider

Hi everyone! I wanted to give you an update on why my posting has been so light the last week and will be for the next week or two. I am having surgery. Yep… it’s not the best timing, but something I need to do. Before I give you details, I think I might buy this necklace. This is just another example of how you can find ANYTHING on Etsy!

What kind of surgery, you ask?

Well, I am having surgery on my hip. I have managed to tear the cartilage in my hip socket and have been in pain for a while. Hopefully the surgery won’t be too bad, and I will be up and back to normal after a few weeks. Since I live in the “crazy” New York City and have a sixth floor walk-up apartment (NO ELEVATOR), I have to have the surgery in North Carolina and will recover there for a few weeks.

I am thrilled that I will be able to be “home” with my mom and sister, but sad that I won’t be in my office and with my NYC friends. Selfishly though, I am looking forward to time with my family.

I expect that after the surgery (next Friday), I will be light on posting. But after a few days, I will be sitting in the bed, and I hope to write lots of posts and comments. I can’t wait to catch up on the Weddingbee boards and everything that you all are planning.

Good luck!! One of my best gfs just had hip surgery and she’s walking around and recovering beautifully! She’s a dancer so she won’t be able to do much for a while but she had amazing support as I’m sure you will too!
Good luck with everything and you’ll be in my prayers on Friday!

OH!!!!!!!! They’re crutches!! duh! haha
I thought they were champagne flutes at first, thinking ‘hmm, what funny, but interestingly shaped bottoms!’

Good luck with your surgery, and here’s hoping for a speedy recovery (but don’t push yourself too much, you can break a femur easily that way).

good luck! I am in Charlotte too! Are you having your surgery at salisbury? My father in law just had a hip surgery there a month ago and it went really well! I am sure you’ll be in good hands!
