My Sunshines

My Sunshines : wedding bridesmaid dress Ladies ladies

Meet the Lady Piglets … handsome bunch, don’t cha think? While all of the groomsmen are geographically scattered, the majority of my ladies (minus Canada) are still at our home base. When deciding on bridal attire, I loved the idea of different dress styles for each girl, in the same color, with flowy material. David’s Bridal seemed like the logical choice with the plethora of style options in their collection. AND, I fell in love with one dress from the get go for my MOH, otherwise known as Sister Pig.

Meet Sissy, my best friend (unfortunately she refuses to reciprocate this title for me), confidant, and our model for this session.

Dress #1. It’s fun, flirty, forgiving, and simply fabulous! Since the back wall is painted yellow, the color is a bit skewed. So, I posted the model picture alongside sis. You’re welcome Sissy!

Dress #2. This one I love. I’m a strappy type of girl, and once again, the cut is very forgiving.

Dress #3. This one has to fly solo. It may be an older style since it’s no longer on the website. I searched for the dress for a solid two minutes, so it may be out there. On another note, my sister has amazing arms. To the right of this picture, there’s a pull-up bar in the doorway. She can do two, I can do zilch. I did ten yesterday with her carrying me (more of a workout for her, I suppose).

Dress #4. This is the one I instantly fell in love with. Again, the empire waist allows sissy to eat to her heart’s content.

Dress #5. TBD. So far I’ve only purchased 4 of the 5 dresses. I’m thinking a halter for the last dress… like this…

Is it pretty?

Will you have a color coordinated bridal party wearing different dresses? Where did you go to find the best selection of dresses?

#1 dominates the rest of these… i think that one also has more “wear again” possibilities

I love the first dress too - I may be going to look at it for my garden tea party attire bridal shower in 2 weeks! I’d been searching for something. We’re doing the girls in the same dress - I think. We’re having a dress session that same weekend as the shower and we’re sticking with David’s Bridal too. They have the best options with colors and styles for all sizes at reasonable prices! I love your choices though so fun!

We are using the same color but different styles for each of the girls. I liked the color/dress selection at Alfred Angelo a bit more…but all of the ones you showed are very cute. I really love dress #1!

I definitely am a fan of doing different shades of a color and/or different styles. I think it gives the bridesmaid opportunities to find a dress that they can wear again and also doesn’t make your wedding party look like a cookie cutter parade. :)

I also have my bridesmaids in all different dresses– same color, different styles for each. My own sissy, who is Best Woman, is wearing a floor length gown, while the others are in tea length– it’s so fun to see their own personalities come through!!

My girls also picked all different styles in the same color. We also went to David’s. My MOH picked a dress from a different maker in a different hue. It was great to have the girls pick what they looked best in.

2 and 4 in that same color were worn for one of my friends weddings and they looked great on all the girls who were all different sizes! Great picks!

I wore number 4 for a wedding this summer, and let me tell you that dress + big boobs= yuck. But it’s adorable on Sissy!

#1 seems to win the popular vote! My Canadian love will be rockin’ that one.

@AliCherri1: Those are adorable and do look very similar! I love the neckline of the dress… seems like it would be very flattering

@JennyBryde: Couldn’t agree more! Different styles flatter different figures, and I want my girls to feel beautiful!

@coralray24: I just checked out the AA website and they do have a fantastic selection! I never looked at the Alfred Angelo collection… good to know for my recently engaged friends!

@Steph921: garden tea party theme? that’s adorable! let me know what dress you end up wearing :)

@Miss Kitten: Kitten! Off the computer.. and into bed missy! I mean it! :)

@JaymeLyn: I did read some reviews that mentioned that the dress wasn’t for those with a well endowed chest. Sis has nothing to worry about, her boobs are teeny tiny mosquito bites (much like mine) :D

Yellow is so bright and cheery! :)

The “forgiving” style reminds me of when I go to buffets - being able to eat more when properly dressed!

my bridesmaids tried on dresses #1 and #2 and i and they absolutely loved both. #1 would have been perfect for my country themed wedding and #2 is just so compfortable since its cotton… I also love #5 and would have picked it if it wasn’t an older style. My only problem is one bridesmaid is a size 28/30 which left me with ONE tea length dress option and it wasn’t any of those =( but i got the color i want so thats all that matters! =)
