Vintage Jewelry

March 30th, 2009 @ 12:35 pm by Mrs. Mascara

I discovered Doyle & Doyle’s website recently, and I am in love. I have always loved vintage jewelry; I think it is so cool to be wearing something that someone else wore before you, whether it be your grandmother’s wedding ring, or something found at an antique shop. Doyle & Doyle is a company that sells vintage jewelry, and you can shop online! I looked through all of their rings (we are still undecided on our wedding rings) and found a ton of gorgeous pieces to show you!

Here are some that could have potential as wedding bands.

I’d love to have either of these as a right-hand ring!

And really, who could ever say no if the guy they loved got down on one knee with this one:

And for the guys…

Do you have a vintage ring? Can you trace its origins?

I have a vintage e-ring, but I don’t know its origins! All I know is it comes from an estate jeweler in la jolla, ca.

My ring is by Tacori, so it’s vintage inspired…but I am so in love with those rings, especially #2, 6, and 8.

I just ordered the 5th one you listed a couple of weeks ago — they are all absolutely STUNNING in person and the staff there is fantastic at helping to mix and match your band to your e-ring. My fiance tried on a bunch of their bands (although he ended up going with a titanium band from michael c fina — he couldn’t get over how light it felt) but they had a very well edited selection of mens’ rings and we found plenty that he liked. The women’s bands, at least the one I ordered, do take around 8 weeks to make, so I was glad we’d stopped in when we did!

I was looking to see if I could have my hubby snatch up the
2nd one for our dateaversary in a few weeks…but I can’t seem to find it on their sight anymore. :(

Oh, one more thing — it’s worth mentioning that some of the pieces are repro pieces, not actual antiques. They have a bunch of styles of bands that are based on vintage pieces but are not necessarily antiques. That’s what I ordered for my band. From what I remember when I looked there for e-rings, some of those are are a mix; the stones might be antiques set in reproduction settings, some are actual estate pieces.

My wedding band belonged to my grandmother, so it has extra meaning. Although this post has inspired me to look for a vintage band for Mr. E!

My e-ring and our wedding bands are all from Doyle & Doyle. We both really liked the idea of having something old, something someone else had worn and cherished. I LOVE that store!

We’re so glad you love our wedding bands (and rings!).

We do have a wide selection of new bands (like the ones that are pictured above), that can be custom made to order in your size and take 8 weeks.

We also have tons of great antique bands (mostly from the 1910s to the 1940s), most of which can be sized, and some of which that still have the original engraving on the inside!

Here are links to a few great ones currently on the site:
