Mrs. Bruschetta's Picture
Mrs. Bruschetta, Philadelphia Age and Occupation: 25, Communication Professional Fiance's Age and Occupation: 25, Physical Therapy Graduate Student Engagement Date: November 30, 2007 Wedding Date: August 2009 Venue: St. Thomas of Villanova Church & the F.U.E.L. House About Me: I’m a self-proclaimed grammar geek who loves singing (like, really belting it) in the car. My mister and I are planning a vibrant summer soiree celebrating our passions – including food and Philly – and when we make it official, we’ll have been together for eight years! Being super competitive is in my nature, and talking excessively is in my genes. I’ve got a terrible sense of direction, but can always easily find my way into Mr. Bruschetta’s arms.
About Mrs. Bruschetta

Finding our photographer was a high priority soon after we were engaged. Ironically — and perhaps fortunately — I wasn’t yet aware of the wide world of wedding and photography blogs when we began our search. (I can’t imagine how overwhelmed I would have been!) At the time, I relied on two resources: the local message boards on The Knot, and Sister Bruschetta (who was married a few months before).

Having recently received her wedding photos, Sister Bruschetta sent along a couple teasers, hoping to nudge me to set an appointment with her photographer, Cindy Patrick.

Professional photos of me and the mister? I was understandably wowed, simultaneously touched, and tickled.

Along with Sister Bruschetta’s wedding photos, I was drawn to Cindy’s work with another local bride, Knottie ibekatieg. Cindy’s photojournalistic style perfectly captured so many candid moments, including a post-ceremony walk through the city. And coincidentally, Mr. Bruschetta and I had already discussed incorporating something similar (for us, a jaunt through the historic neighborhood around our reception location) into our wedding day! (The following photos are all Cindy’s as well.)

To make a pretty short story even shorter, we met with Cindy — and all three of us clicked. She offered to create a “Bruschetta family” discount package (why thank you!), and asked permission to bring on a second shooter of her choice (because it’ll be a looooong day) at no cost to us. Um, how’s that for fantastic?

Yup, there’s a happy ending to this story. We met up with Cindy — and her chosen second shooter Ray — for engagement pictures this past September. And I can’t wait to have two talented photographers capture our wedding day!

What was the first vendor you booked after getting engaged?

That first photo of you and Mr. B is so sweet! I’m sure having the same photographer as your sister will help your family feel more at ease in front of the camera, too. I’m sure your pictures will be awesome!

How nice for her to be able to understanda little bit better your family dynamic. Plus your sister will be psyched to have “anniversary” photos of she and her husband together. My photographer is likely doing my sister’s wedding as well, and I’m going to play the attention hog for just a few moments so that I can get just a few more cute photos of Mr. Avocado and I together from her!

My photographer was the first vendor (other than the venue) we booked, also. She was the only one I met with, but she was pretty awesome and her photography is beautiful.

Funnily enough - she’s getting married this summer, and Cindy Patrick is HER wedding photographer! Her photography is great - and if she’s giving you a “family discount,” well, that’s really nice.

Too bad we don’t have cabs in the Bay Area where I could have snagged a shot like the third one…

How funny! I looked at booking for Cindy for my August Philly wedding! Initially, she was available, but a couple she had already contracted with changed the date before we could sign with her. We loved her and her photos, so were sad when it didn’t work out. But she directed us to a colleague of hers, Kamila Harris, whose photos we also LOVE and is great to work with. Nice choice!!

my husband-to-be’s logic is, “A good photographer can make even a not-so-nice venue look great” haha

From the first picture I was going to say sister B looks just like you! Photos are super important to me but for some reason that was one vendor I majorly slacked on finding. I’m always afraid we’ll find something else when its too late.
