On one side, I’m a girly girl. I read countless bridal and fashion magazines, and have an obsession with keeping up with the latest Hollywood gossip. On the other side, I’m a sports fanatic. Despite being a full-time bride-to be, full-time research assistant, and part-time student, I’m also a full-time Red Sox fan from spring training to October, and a full-time Patriots fan from mini-camp to February. I devote almost as much time researching my for fantasy football team as researching for our wedding!
Just when you thought you got rid of me after I finished my recap last week, here I am posting again! But it is for good reason–I have more photos to share!
Back in November during Thanksgiving weekend, Mr. Toucan and I had another photo session with our wedding photographer, Robert Mirani. We squeezed into our wedding attire (though it might not have been the best idea right after 2 Thanksgiving dinners!), and took a “self-guided tour” around the Wellesley College Student Center.
The building is simply stunning! We took photos in large open auditoriums: Read more…

Or anywhere in France, for that matter!). I’m a full-time worker, part-time student, soon-to-be-step-mom, indie music lovin’, architecture and design fanatic, macaroni and cheese addict, vegetarian, Francophile, Ohio State football obsessed, wedding planning girl. Mr. Quiche and I are “Partners-in-Crime” and cannot wait to celebrate our marriage surrounded by our family and closest friends. I plan on DIYing my little heart out (or as much as a suitcase to Jamaica will hold).
Chicago. I love this city. It makes for a great escape, whether for 3 days or a week. There are things to do and places to see for all types of interests: history, art, food, architecture, beaches, and shopping. It is a large city, but has a very manageable feel. Plus, it’s in the Midwest. It’s easily accessible and the people are very friendly! Chicago is a city built by its neighborhoods, and each has its own vibe and culture. Read more…

I find any excuse I can to craft something and am completely infatuated with the 1950’s, all things Kennedy, and my furbaby Vida.
I used to smoke. I drink coffee by the gallon and almost as much red wine. Thus, my pearly whites aren’t so… pearly. I also have very sensitive teeth that cause me to shudder in pain just thinking about bleaching trays and strips. That said, I’m decently vain and dream of having a bright glowing smile on W day (heck, every day would be nice). So, what’s a sensitive girl to do? I own every single Martha Stewart Wedding Magazine and have been dreaming of weddings since I was little. I believe life is about doing what makes you happy. If you aren't happy re-evaluate what you are doing. You should never look back on your life and not be proud of what you are doing. If you want to travel - travel. If you want to sing - sing. If you want to start a company - start a company. If you want to blog – blog!
I am so excited that there are options for boutonnieres. I haven’t even discussed them with Mr. AC, but hopefully he will read this and be inspired. Check out the amazing boutonnieres created by lfinkels on Etsy. They are $19.

I am a professional student by day and an amateur cupcake taster, bargain shopper, and wedding planner by night. I am obsessed with NPR, the Food Network, paper, dance shows, Anthropologie, post-structuralist theory, Weddingbee!, "The Office," and celebrity gossip. When not procrastinating from my dissertation, I spend time catering to Jellyby, our overly anxious shih tzu, and getting to know Mr. Hot Cocoa. We have only been dating for fifteen years, so it's like I'm in love with a stranger! From the East Coast, we are planning a Jewish-Chinese Extravaganza in L.A., where we both grew up.
Sorry I’ve been a bit behind on my posts, but I just got back from a trip to LA for some last-minute wedding-related errands, and I’ve got lots to share with you!
I thought I’d start by showing you our table numbers.

We’ve poured ourselves into planning a wedding that reflects our personal style - modern and high contrast with a vintage twist. Blogging keeps me creative, baking keeps me happy, and grande nonfat no foam sugar free vanilla lattes keep me sane.
We knew that we wanted to use a photo from our engagement shoot for our save the date postcard. We knew that we wanted it to be urban, edgy and cool, and, as it turns out, to include a mural. We like to go big with sharing our wedding date with the world!
We LOVED this shot in front of this mural in the Wicker Park neighborhood of Chicago. This was taken in September 2008, pre-Election, when the excitement was continuing to build here in Chicago and across the country!
Mrs. Cupcake, PhiladelphiaAge and Occupation: 27, Graphic DesignerFiance's Age and Occupation: 29, Construction Project ManagerEngagement Date: February 10, 2007Wedding Date: September, 2008Blogging Since: December 7, 2007Venue: The Desmond Hotel in Malvern, PAAbout Me: Mr. Cupcake and I hit it off at a Halloween party and immediately began a long-distance relationship. After two years, he moved to my neck of the woods, and a year and a half after that, he proposed at the “place we fell in love.” I am a true perfectionist who enjoys designing and creating more work for myself, so wedding planning is my perfect outlet. Mr. Cupcake and I are both old souls, and we hope to weave that aspect of our personalities into our wedding day.
All photos below by The Wiebners. We purchased a disc of all unedited images from our wedding day, so some post-processing has been done by me for the purpose of sharing the photos with you. Click on any photo to enlarge.
We’re taking a break from all the super girlie bridal stuff to check in with our dashing groom and his partners in crime! The boys — I mean, men — got ready in my brother’s guest room at The Desmond.

I love my job most of the time because I get to travel and work with brilliant people who are trying to prevent Malaria. I love DIY projects of all sorts, cooking, and watching sports. I'd wear anything at Anthropologie and could spend all day on Etsy. I love to travel but shouldn't because I always get myself into unbelievable situations!
A few weekends ago, Mr. Joey and I completed the last steps in the Limoncello making process. A friend gave us 20 lbs. (no joke) of lemons over the summer and we needed to come up with a project that would use most of them. It was all a blur between the squeezing and the zesting.
I hope this turns out well. We want to make and bottle more (yikes) to give away as wedding favors. We also have Limecello (with limes) that we made. We got pounds of those too.
Mrs. Glitter, Los AngelesAge and Occupation: 27, Research Consultant/WriterFiance's Age and Occupation: 29, AccountingEngagement Date: May 6, 2007Wedding Date: June, 2009Venue: Millenium Biltmore HotelAbout Me: I was born and raised in West Los Angeles, California. I spent eight years in the Northeast working and completing my education. Having split time between two sides of the country has given me a true appreciation for both coasts. It has also provided an overabundance of cross country drives, flights and long distance relationship fun/misery! I love my family, my doggy Emma, fabulous wine, Anthropologie, politics, reading, being outdoors, exploring new cities, and good movies! My fiance and I are complete opposites, but somehow we have managed to fall completely and hopelessly in love.
… and an uncanny sense of balance? Check out the bridal collection at Steve Madden for some killer (and affordable) wedding day shoes. Mr. G is only 3 inches taller than me, so the 4+ inch heels would make me beastly compared to him. Not to mention, I’d probably fall and break my ankle before the ceremony. But for my brave, heel-loving friends, check out the following:
These are on sale for $69.95. (They also come in black and gold!)
Mrs. Penguin here bringing you the wiki of the day! Today’s wiki is “Welcome to Weddingbee”! Weddingbee can be sort of a strange concept to brides that aren’t exactly savvy to blogs and the blogging world. I know a lot of people stumble upon Weddingbee while searching for something on Google, or find us through links on other sites. Before I found Weddingbee, I thought a blog was only something that people in politics wrote—I swear! I’d heard of political blogs through NPR, and that was about it!
I know visiting Weddingbee for the first time and getting acquainted with its many parts can sometimes be confusing, so we launched a “Welcome to Weddingbee” wiki in order to help out newbees to the site. Weddingbee veterans, think back to that first day you stumbled upon Weddingbee. What confused you most about Weddingbee? What do you find to be common questions that people ask you about the site when they first join? I started up a few categories in the wiki, including:
What is Weddingbee?
How does the blog work?
How do the boards work?
What are some tips on boards etiquette?
How do I interact with the bees?
What are bee levels?
We are hoping that some of you veterans can help us out and fill out some of the categories above, or you can even add your own categories here on the Welcome to Weddingbee wiki:
And by all means, if you have a question about the ins and outs of Weddingbee, post it as a topic in the wiki, and someone will answer it for you!
If you’re unsure how you can contribute to the wiki, take a peek at this wiki article on how to edit a wiki. Check it out and share your expertise! Or, if you’re shy, just leave your tips in the comments, and we can add them to the wiki for you!
Mrs. Duckling, San DiegoAge and Occupation: 23, Psychology Grad Student, Youth Diversion Specialist/Marriage and Family Therapy Trainee and an Executive AssistantFiance's Age and Occupation: 25, Marketing and PR CoordinatorEngagement Date: May 17, 2008Wedding Date: September 2009Venue: Rancho Bernardo InnAbout Me: I'm currently living in Orange County, but planning our wedding in my hometown of San Diego. We are a DIY wedding "2fer", as I'm the crafty one and Mr. Ducky is in charge of all of our graphic design and technical aspects. When not wedding planning or reading wedding blogs, I'm attending grad school and rotating between two different jobs to keep things exciting. My favorite things include shoes, Post-Its, Labrador Retrievers, traveling, psychology, delicious food, photography, reading, craft gadgets/supplies, and of course, my wonderful Mr. Ducky!
I’ve told you about my philosophy of picking vendors, our amazing coordinator, and why I needed to ask for help. What I haven’t shared with you yet is who our fabulous photographer is. I guess I should probably tell you how I met him.
I actually knew about Mike’s photography well before Mr. Ducky and I were engaged. Several of our mutual friends and acquaintances have gotten married and used his photography. Due to the social networking of Facebook and seeing tagged pictures of my friends, I got linked to his website and was completely amazed. The photography I found on his site caught my attention and I was instantly impressed.
Last summer I had the honor of being a bridesmaid in one of my best friend’s weddings. On the day of the wedding I was able to meet Mike and his beautiful wife, Rachel. Mike and Rachel got there early in the morning as we were getting ready and were taking pictures all day and all night long. I can’t say enough about this couple other than that they are a blessing and an inspiration to be around. They just became part of the group as we laughed, snacked, and prepared the bride for her big moment. Mike and Rachel’s love for one another is present in their work and I think that it makes the end result better. I felt like I was able to get to know them both and that they were people who I would want to spend time with. They were exactly the people that I wanted on our team.
I’m beyond excited that we get to have Mike as our photographer, and feel so blessed that we will get to know him and Rachel more in the coming months. Mr. Ducky and I are getting our engagement photos done soon, and I’m already anxiously anticipating a fun day of photography, getting to know Mike and Rachel, and moving a step closer to our wedding.
Now for small peek at their incredible photography. Read more…

I also enjoy modern dance classes, rugby and soccer but have been banned by my mother, MOHs, and Mr. D' Orsay from playing till after the wedding. I have an unnatural addiction to cheese and shoes, but love Mr. D' Orsay more than either and can't wait to become Mrs. D' Orsay!
It was pretty tough for me to think about how to give you guys a tour of one of my favorite cities, but that’s what makes Baltimore one of my favorite cities! Baltimore is full of interesting things to see and do!

MR. SHORTCAKE:
Fifty minutes of driving time away, the other half of the wedding party was slowly getting ready after an evening of margaritas and cards. The morning began with some homemade Egg McMuffins and a couple of beers to take the edge off. Nothing says, “I’m getting married today!” quite like breakfast sandwiches and a pint! Because almost none of my groomsmen had been in a wedding party, there was a definite nervous energy in the air - it wasn’t just from me!
Our videographer (a friend of mine) arrived at my parents’ house at around 8 AM to take a few quick clips of me handing the rings to my best man for safe keeping. After staying for our breakfast of champions, he too was off to visit the bridal party. It was now time for me to do the two things that a groom has to do at a wedding:
Get dressed, and show up!
Those are not always easy tasks for some of us - especially certain ones who still need someone to tie their ties for them! In true “man” fashion, we set up camp in the basement, laying our “James Bond tuxedos” on the Ping Pong table alongside our beers.
